- The #LandRoverDefender nameplate has been enjoying a huge resurgence since #LandRover brought the iconic name back in 2020. For 2023, the #Defender130 grows literally in size to better accommodate a 3rd row along with cargo space behind the 3rd row. It also manages to maintain most of the off-road capable that consumers expect with the #Defender nameplate.

With the vents so high on the dash did u feel the air mid~lower body? Seems they would not hit mid section of the body and all face being so high but might be wrong

Crazy that his behemoth of a vehicle has the same cargo capacity of an Outback or Forester, with a much reduced weight capacity (rooftop tent) on the roof rails.
In the EU a Forester has 1751 liters of cargo space, and a Defender 130 has 2291 liters. Defender can load 175 kg or 385 lbs more. (Max in EU is 3,500 kg, might be higher in North-America).
But an Outback or Forester can only carry 5 passengers. And in stock form, the Defender will out tow and off road better than an Outback. We are not talking about forest trails here towing some popup camper. There are plenty of large families who do cross shop 3rd row, off-road, and tow capable vehicles not for just for mall-crawling. For them, fuel economy is not the #1 consideration.
or stick with Land Rover's own Discovery for similar cargo capacity. same drivetrains, a bit plusher, quieter and more efficient on the highway. Of course, you won't have the same approach and departure angles or that "cool" utility factor.

timeless Sari design. Loved the different animal themed tire covers. Entry grab handle is grey and is at the end of the dash, it blends in. Maybe 1st Ed leather wrapped?
I’m not a big LandRover/ Range River fan, but if I were to get one, I’d get the Defender to maybe a Range Rover Sport. But definitely a Defender.
5:58 the rest-of-world spec tailllights may be fantastic but unfortunately Land Rover downgraded them on USDM vehicles to all-red brake/indicator combination lights, which are a fail.
I wonder if they programmed the software to take in account the 10” spare. I’d hope so.

some ppl lol'ing about reliability, my 2007 Range Sport has no serious issues since I bought it, just have leaks in the suspension which i will get around to when I get the time
These are very nice now. The problem is that they don't have all the driving aids that other manufacturers offer and let's not forget the asking price so it's to over look safety

This is my Freshman exchange student girlfriend incarnate. Ungainly, unreliable and definitely lease material, if you can afford the vig.
Facts.. I'm in multiple dealerships weekly for work and land rover is the one with every lift full and so many vehicheles being worked on.
That's true for other luxury brands like Audi, BMW, Benz etc. too. German luxury cars have horrible reliability and high maintenance costs too. If you want a reliable luxury car, buy a Lexus.
@@braetonwilson4296 And what exactly comes in line with a Defender from Lexus? A GX I guess. Drive a 10 year old vehicle in name of reliability, soul less car. If you got that much money to spend just lease a luxury car for 3 years and get some new the next time. Now if you are a budget shopper, sure go for a Toyota or Honda as they are the safest bet. But if you got the money and want to enjoy it, just go lease your toys.

From the looks alone it looks the best ! Better than G wagon and every other off road truck… the 130 is the best looking as well and probably the most practical and useful for groups or family adventures

According to a press release LaRo is offering the V8 powered 130 for the EU market. So will probably do the same for North-America soon.
I got news that the 130 for 2024 model year will get the 5.0L S/C V8 with different tunes

I don't see this as a luxury vehicle. I see at as an upscale premium vehicle but not luxury. It's also a Defender, it's supposed to be utilitarian so having those aesthetics are par for the course IMO. If you wanted a luxury off road vehicle then get an actual Range Rover with the air suspension and terrain management system.
A hybrid powertrain is not the same as a supercharger. I am not sure why you would attempt to conflate the two and call this engine "twin charged" (like a Volvo or VW).
The reliability and maintenance is NEVER good, the dealer is going to love anyone buying these 😂😂😂

No true, it has more cargo capacity with the third row down than the 110 with the third row down.
The deal breakers for me are the fact that the rear seats are manual and don't fold flat and the non-integrated tablet on the dashboard. It baffles me why car makers do that. It just looks like somone super glued an Ipad to the dash.

It's a beautiful SUV! But it's missing features that it should DEFINITELY have at this price point! Also, I think they made this model just to charge people more money!! They didn't utilize the extra length very well. It's ridiculous. My mom's Toyota Sienna has more passenger and cargo space!
This would be great for two families meeting at the cabin to vacation together. Third row down to haul your stuff; third row up to hit the trails, go to dinner, etc. with both families. Between the three, I'd probably get the 110 but I'd sure pine over the 90. And it would be the V8. Having said that, with the V8 version, a used RS Q8 runs about the same price and a Stelvio Quadrifoglio is half as much.
I guess if you really wanted the 8 seats thing it makes since otherwise I don’t see the appeal for the longer version. No rear usb ports for the 2nd & 3rd row! Seriously?!

Agreed. I think this was a mistake on his part. I have looked at both the 110 and 130 for my large dog, and there is way more room with the 3rd seats down in the 130.
It's too stretched. It honestly looks like a tall hearse from the rear 3/4 angle.

This 130 makes no sense. Hardly any bigger where it counts. And missing some options here and there. I'd like to see this compared with a top spec Grand Cherokee L.
