This was such a beautiful and memorable performance. The chemistry between the dancers alongside Ryan was truly calming and was an absolute pleasure to watch. I'm thrilled that we are back in the final. Congratulations to Ryan and the team!
Thoroughly deserving of a place in the final. A hauntingly memorable performance. Really honest, beautiful and endearing. I will vote for Ireland on Saturday. Best of luck from your British friends across the Irish sea! :) 12 pts
This is how ESC songs should be. Simple, delicate yet very poetic with no gimmicks and shows. After all this is a song contest not a "show contest". All the best Ireland. I will be supporting you all the way.
Well done Ryan, you make Ireland proud. By the way, I'm form Northern Ireland, and I voted of Ryan on Tuesday night. Our Northern Irish viewers voted for Ryan. Good luck on Saturday evening.
This performance was far different from the studio version. Live performance consisted of so much soul and emotion that it mesmerized and surprised me as well.
Congratulations for qualifying for the grand final. You really deserved it! I’m 100% sure I will vote for Ireland this year. Greetings from Hungary! 🇮🇪❤️🇭🇺
I thought that this song shouldn’t have made it before I watched the performance, but now I agree that it made it. The performance really elevates it. Congratulations RTÉ.
A truly mesmerizing performance. Loved the dancers, so moving. The whole thing gave me goosebumps. Ryan, you have done us proud already. Congratulations 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪 Go Ireland 👍🎤
Those two superb dancers, the amazingly high quality choreography, the beautifully lit set and props in combination with the excellent camera movements told and uplifting and emotional story that felt positive, and lifted the otherwise slightly melancholic song to new heights. All the way into the final - and I would not eat my hat if it should place in the top 10 after the event was over, either. Congratulations Ireland, with a performance and stage setting supremely well done.
Wladimir Rattia Had deserved better than number 16, though. But I guess that is partly a result of the superb quality of almost every single one of the songs this year? There are those who deserved to qualify - but didn`t, and those who qualified, but landed in the bottom half of the results, because the point system is as unfair as it is. Instead of awarding points from 1 to 12 for ten songs, why not simply count the votes for each song given by the viewers of each particular country, and instead of points award the percentage of the total votes from that country each particular song have received (so every single vote would count), and then do the same for the jury, but let each juror have 100 points to share as he/she thought it just (but had to award points to a minimum of 10 entries, and no single entry could be awarded mor than 40 points alone), and after all the jurors had given their points, those points would be added together and converted into a percentage of the total jury vote of that country, which together with the popular vote of the same country would have been the total vote for each song awarded by that country. That system would have been fairer, more just to all those viewers who with the current system often pays for votes which are not even counted, because the entries they have voted for failed to score among the top ten of their country`s total vote. Not to mention, that since often the top favorites receives the major share of the vote, the difference between the entry being awarded one point and five points, might just be a handful of votes - while the distance between six and seven points, might run in the thousands. So if the current system of only awarding points to 10 songs should continue, at the very least a system of bonus points should be awarded, adding every single vote from every single country`s popular vote that fell outside the top ten of each country together, and then give an additional 1 to 12 points to the ten songs which had the most votes of all those entries. So if Ireland had been just short of receiving points in one country, all the votes the Irish song had received from the viewers in that country would have been added to the bonus "country" together with the other votes that had not resulted in points from that country, plus all the votes from that hadn`t resulted in points in all the other countries. But only the votes that hadn`t resulted in points. If Ireland had received points from a country, all it`s votes from that country would have been excluded from being counted again in the bonus "country," in favor of the votes for entries that hadn`t secured enough votes for them to be awarded points by the same country. Such an added bonus "country" would have made more of the votes paid for by viewers count, than what it is the case now. Still, a system where entries was awarded every single vote given to them by viewers would be the most fair for both the entries and the viewers who pays for each vote they award an entry. That the majority of the votes awarded doesn`t influence the result at all is simply scandalous, and borders to be fraud - since viewers are being charged money for something they don`t receive. It is almost as if you should buy a lottery ticket of the kind where you tick some numbers in some boxes, but unless your chosen numbers were not among the top 10 chosen, those numbers were simply excluded from the draw.
Go Ryan, your a beautiful singer, / guitar player, you've shown people tonight on the euro vision Ireland still has plenty of musical talent as you deffo do.
I loved the music video, so beautiful. This live stage version is just as beautiful. I truly hope Ryan wins. The two actors/dancers in the video should also win some kind of award, they really added to the song. Good Luck Ryan and Ireland!!!!
I'm from the Uk and I jumped and screamed when Ireland was announced !!! I was literally praying that it would be through !! So well deserved, it's so stripped back and meaningful like all the other songs are great this year but I wouldn't mind if this one won ... snd of course the UK come second ! Haha well done !!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Please vote for this song on Saturday night! If it were to win, it wouldn’t be win for Brendan nor it wouldn’t be a win for Ireland... it would be a win for love. In a world with so much hatred we need more love 💕 🇮🇪
More universal love on this planet, please! For everyone like refugees, those who are bullied, the LGTBQ community members and others in need. If everyone creates what they want to receive .... Congratulations, team Ireland !
People, this is not a love song... This is a sad song of a fake love! Lol You really don't read the lyrics? What a shame! But THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONGS OF THE YEAR! Thanks for that, Ryan and Irelands choosers.
Six years ago when Ryan was 19, he made quite a splash on Britain's Got Talent and made it all the way to the finals. All the best to him in the Eurovision contest. He's still a heart-breaker. That dance is inspired and is what brought me to this video.
fair play, vocal was a little shaky after the opening but the staging was so well done. Vocal should be better on Saturday, nothing to be nervous over now. Great draw too. I'd expect us to be on 2nd last to break up Israel and Cyprus as one of those will close it out.
Yes, it's understandable he was a little nervous in the semi final. Others were as well, even the Estonian opera singer. He should be much more relaxed on Saturday night
Great to have Ireland back in the final. Great vocal with a simple message of acceptance equality and not taking what you have for granted. His voice was, on a night of high production numbers, a real standout. Love and Talent won the day. Get in Ryan 💚💚💚
MitchellESC we have to bring Eurovision back to the western countries. So yes hopefully Ireland or France for the win, although I really like Cyprus too.
dzajic90 I didn’t mean western countries by definition. I meant countries like Portugal, Spain France, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy. By definition yes all those countries are considered western
We were drifting like two icebergs out on the ocean I was doing all I could to keep you close There were troubles in the water, you swore it was nothing You said that we would always stay afloat Why would true love look me in the eye and lie... Lie... I thought we'd be together till we die I'll forever wonder why I thought we'd be together till we die I'll forever wonder why Why have you been coming home so late in the evening? Is there someone else that I should know about? There's a smile on your face that I haven't seen Since we started going out How could true love look me in the eye and lie... Lie... I thought we'd be together till we die I'll forever wonder why I thought we'd be together till we die I'll forever wonder why I'll forever wonder why We said until death do us part And then you chose to break my heart Remember right back to the start We said we'd be together till we die I'll forever wonder why I thought we'd be together till we die I'll forever wonder why You said we'd be together till we die (You let go of me, you let go of me) I'll forever wonder why (You let go of me, you let go of me) I thought we'd be together till we die (You let go of me, you let go of me) I'll forever wonder why (You let go of me) I'll forever wonder why
Qualified in the toughest semi final, probably in the history of Eurovision. Ireland, you’ve already won this year!
flormach i have to agree 100% Ryan and all the Team made us a proud.
This was such a beautiful and memorable performance. The chemistry between the dancers alongside Ryan was truly calming and was an absolute pleasure to watch. I'm thrilled that we are back in the final. Congratulations to Ryan and the team!

Many of us here in the North voted for him because we identify with Ireland, not the U.K.
This performance was far different from the studio version. Live performance consisted of so much soul and emotion that it mesmerized and surprised me as well.

Tvjunkieful12 Really that was a beautiful combination of the best ALL to qualify to the final. Amazing staging. Magical!

Majorly cool song Ryan, you have a beautiful voice, and of course the guitar playing, which I really really loved, was excellent, go Ireland,
I like the way the people used their phone lights, and also how they reflected on the piano.
Best reaction in the Arena on the night with Albania

Beautiful performance
BRAVO por la canción y por el intérprete.
8th win? maybe...probably not. But I can dream
MitchellESC we have to bring Eurovision back to the western countries. So yes hopefully Ireland or France for the win, although I really like Cyprus too.
Norway 2009 Germany 2010 Sweden 2012, Denmark 2013, Austria 2014, Sweden 2015 and Portugal 2017 are not western enough ?
dzajic90 I didn’t mean western countries by definition. I meant countries like Portugal, Spain France, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy. By definition yes all those countries are considered western
steven timoteo but Eurovision is in Portugal this year anyways lol
Eurovision Temple yes for the first time in Eurovision history
My fav song

Happy for Ireland !love from greece
Catchy song. I like it.
We were drifting like two icebergs out on the ocean
I was doing all I could to keep you close
There were troubles in the water, you swore it was nothing
You said that we would always stay afloat
Why would true love look me in the eye and lie... Lie...
I thought we'd be together till we die
I'll forever wonder why
I thought we'd be together till we die
I'll forever wonder why
Why have you been coming home so late in the evening?
Is there someone else that I should know about?
There's a smile on your face that I haven't seen
Since we started going out
How could true love look me in the eye and lie... Lie...
I thought we'd be together till we die
I'll forever wonder why
I thought we'd be together till we die
I'll forever wonder why
I'll forever wonder why
We said until death do us part
And then you chose to break my heart
Remember right back to the start
We said we'd be together till we die
I'll forever wonder why
I thought we'd be together till we die
I'll forever wonder why
You said we'd be together till we die
(You let go of me, you let go of me)
I'll forever wonder why
(You let go of me, you let go of me)
I thought we'd be together till we die
(You let go of me, you let go of me)
I'll forever wonder why
(You let go of me)
I'll forever wonder why
Tears in my eyes! Thank you so much Ireland for sending this beautiful message to Eurovision! Love is love...
