for beginners once you get a good fit you are on your way and sewing gets easier. years ago when the speed limit was slower people used to sew quilts by hand in the car on their way up north to vacation, also during the winter everyone had a sewing project.
I might try again this year. Being an odd body shapes means I have a vested interest in making my own clothes

Oh do! I bought a sewing machine years ago, sold it to my mother because I wasn't really using it and bought another last year and I am determined to make at least one proper wearable garment this year but I have already used the machine to mend so much and I'm delighted!
I love your sewing machine as it is truly one of the best models and sewist search for it. Never give it up as I did and had to rebuy it but my heart belongs to my original machine. I love your videos.

Thanks to you Lauren, I have already finished my first 2 shirred dresses and currently
working on my 3rd dress! Looking forward to learn how to sew short culottes
with matching top peplum for my 4th project!
I learned my first 3 projects by simple rectangle shirred, first with shirred straps
and puff sleeves with my 2 consecutive projects! It was really fun creating dresses
even without complicated patterns! LOL
However, on my next project I will be starting to use patterns, but using my own
patterns since patterns are not available in my country. I got no way to copy from
google so it's learning from the sewing vloggers! And thank you to these vloggers
specially to you who is very inspiring to watch and listen to your guidance!
The Tilly books are really great. I used the one for sewing knits and learned a lot about how to sew them on a regular sewing machine! 💙 TFS

Auuh....you also have an old Kenmoore...me too...love this sewing machine, the first one I bought, previouslly I sew with my grandma and my moms sewing machine.

I’ve sewn many outfits over several years on my cheap Singer Starter I got off Amazon before my MIL gave me her nice one when she upgraded. So glad I just jumped in and got started somewhere

Hi, I'm new to your channel. It's been a really long time since I've sewn any clothing. I've only made really simple clothes like pajamas and skirts. I would really like to learn how to use cotton chiffon and create a lining for that type of fabric for dresses. Do you have any specific tutorials on that? If not; would you consider making a tutorial on this? I've been looking and having a hard time finding good instructions especially for beginners using chiffon.
I love flowy dresses for spring and summer but polyester doesn't breathe at all and decided I really want to invest in using natural fabrics. Or breathable alternatives. Southern heat is real 😅

I see that you use the store-bought patterns often - McCall’s, Simplicity… I find the tissue patterns hard to work with and don’t know how to store them afterwards - please share your tips and tricks!
Hello, Lauren, I want to make my own pajama pants but I'm 5"9 and need 35 inches in length is that possible to do? I notice that the inseams are too short on the instructions. How do I make my pants the length fit me based on my height?
