Something interesting to think of from an LCS fan perspective is how all 3 of these former pro's , Genuinely no disrespect intended, we're clearly surprised at this champion interaction unbeknownst to them. I will acknowledge none of them are top or mid laners. However I truly believe these small interactions are things Korean/LPL players know like the back of their hand and this is just one of many things creating the massive gap that we see. The mechanical skill gap IS CLEARLY evident, and I think it just comes down to a lot of champion interactions and nuances that our players don't understand on that deep of a level.

The lvl of play in the T1 JDG series looked higher and the pace was so much faster , hopefully it's because it was LPL vs LCK not LCK LCK so DRX can actually give us a competitive final.
@@helpfulcosmos8646 I think it was because of T1. Out of 4 LPL teams this year, only TES had a style fitting to the LPL teams. Other three were more controlled. But you saw what T1 did to them. They are playing like machines without giving any time to the enemy team, always forcing them to make macro choices. I really don't see drx winning without no brainer team fight comp and managing to scale well until the late game and winning one deciding team fight like JDG did.

It's weird that both C9 and GenG got the first seed in their respective regions playing zeri/yuumi, then went to worlds to play a different meta and just lose.
Come on, everyone knows that Riot does change the meta for the World series all the time, not even surprise.
I mean there is still a different from C9 performance to GenG. GenG is still top 4 team in the world despite meta. C9 is bottom 4-5 team in the world.

They might be shitty compared to some LPL and LCK teams but they’re still better than every minor region team and probably every team in LCS so that’s like middle of the pack at least
This is why League is dumb. Meta changes every 2 months. A competitive team is better at teamfight front to back and tank, another at aggresive play. The only difference is the meta. This ruins the competitive integrity riot keeps boasting about wanting to keep.
@@bltzgaming6989 Top 16 teams. 4 LCK. 4 LPL. Now you have to rank them in the bottom 8. Then you have Rogue. At highest #6 but I don't think C9 showed anything for that. As you mention the drafts was bad and the players felt more highly of themselves. Bottom 4-5 is definitely a good guess.
It's really interesting how how different DL and Rekkles viewed Chovy's split push during Elder in Game 2. DL thought Chovy was throwing because GenG can't fight for Elder without him. But Rekkles thought that GenG couldn't fight at all in that situation (they'd just lose straight up), so he thought Chovy's split play was smart because it forced DRX to make a play and let GenG try for an Elder flip.
To be honest , if Chovy decided to help his teammate in that elder fight in game 2 they could've probably won that game. But nope, Chovy is enjoying his cs per minute goal..

I mean Chovy was bot before the fight started, he was actually holding onto a ton of gold, he was sitting on everfrost, shattered flame and double large rod when backed he bought death cap and void staff but half his team was already dead.
I knew GenG weren’t going to be great this worlds with Zeri being nerfed to oblivion and Wukong/Poppy dropping out of the meta. But I honestly didn’t expect them to lose against DRX. They played 4 BO3’s this year and losing 2-0 every time. That’s 8-0 for GenG.
The midland meta of Azir, Sylas, Akali suits Zeka very well, but those are Chovy’s champions as well. GenG also played a lot of Lucian/Nami and Kalista in summer, but they default to Ezreal and lethality Varus for some odd reason.
Everyone who watches LCK saw GenG draft horribly and play horribly as well. GenG underperformed while DRX overperformed and that accumulated into this DRX win.
In the end, my heart picked DRX for pickems and I’m so happy Deft finally gets to a worlds finals. In a finals against Faker who was in the same high school as Deft, who was the ranked #1 player when Deft was boasting his #2 rank, who has made a legacy of winning, when Deft had to play in his shadow. This storyline is one for the ages and I can’t be more happy with this final as an LCK fan.
But Lucian was banned by DRX every single game I think.

@@HandOfFreedom it hypes up the series more. How many more people want to watch Deft vs Faker compared to Rob vs Jack? 1 matchup has a lot of history behind it. The other is just 2 randoms.
I haven't watched worlds in a few seasons(besides the opening ceremony and such of course) but this version of the content with them is a lot of fun to watch and actually getting me hype to watch worlds again
Zeka and Zeus the youngins are the best players in this tournament, nice to see some new faces making names for themselves. But Zeka more so is straight up carrying DRX all the way to a worlds final, his improvement even just through this tournament has been unbelievable.
Theyre deffo not the best, stop overhyping new kids just cause theyre new, that always comes crashing down on em when they "underperform" shortly after a good showing. Dont get me wrong they play good, but their lack of experience shows at times and these top level games are carried by shotcalls and macro decisions brought in by the more experienced teammates, this isnt NA where a single solo carry can roflstomp a bunch of headless chickens on the other side and win the gamd

I’m judging it strictly based on what I’ve seen this worlds tournament, and they have been the best players in this tournament. Zeus just beat 369 who is arguably the best top laner in the world (his Yone was god-tier), and Zeka has been smurfing in mid lane against Chovy and scout the reigning worlds champs (straight 1v9’d the game 5 against edg and really that whole series). If they underperform they underperform, everyone has good days and bad days, I can’t predict the future, but from what I have already seen so far in this tournament they are the 2 best players in the tournament, consistently!
@@michaelmenezes786 Zeka is not one of the top players at Worlds. Did he play well? Yes. Did he play better than expected? Of course. But he has just benefited from the enemy team running it down against him, not from forcing the enemy to make mistakes with super high level macro and micro plays. He only "smurfed" on chovy because the whole series, chovy decided to play like he was in solo queue and care about cs more than winning the game, and peanut was straight up trolling. In game 5 against edg, scout inted so hard into Zeka, taking so many fights no sane/rational player would take. Scout was just mega tilted. (Zeka was mid for the rest of edg series, not particularly good or bad aside from one good solo kill)
If he plays super well against Faker (assuming Faker keeps his current form), then I would kind of understand the hype. But so far, nothing Zeka has done is any better than what all other mids in LCK can do, especially when they are spoon fed gold like Zeka was.
Watching Gen G lose without Zeri Yuumi poppy is comical. People were not joking about how hard they relied on those 3.

Yup totally relied on poppy R to make zeri have a upper hand in doing zeri moments 5v4 is what got them a LCK title. Hahaha worlds meta showed all kinds of gaps

Btw, Kingen looked mad crazy cuz. He had many 1v1s against Zeus leading up to this matches. Zeus said he's been talking and playing with him alot and wants them to win.
Seems like coincidentally, Zeus wants GenG to lose. In DK vs GenG, Zeus called out Nuguri to be in the finals. Meaning he'd want them to win against GenG. Same with the case of Kingen when he said he'd be rooting for them to win
Nuguri was Zeus' idol, it's only fitting he wants to see him succeed and face him in finals himself

Well deserved win for Zeka. Some bad plays from GenG, but everyone played well overall.
I was there in the front row, the crowd really was 90/10 for DRX, you couldn't hear a thing when the DRX chants started. It had to be demoralizing for GenG.

Lehends going glacial was a terrible decision. Naut without Aftershock is squishy as hell. And chovy ulted himself between lanes to answer the baron push, but if he thought to ult his own wave forward, DRX would have to waste time walking back to kill off the wave. Chovys ult provided nothing this game

Also he hints that he's returning from his awkward jokes. In his stream a few days ago he also said if he plays again he will only play in lcs when people ask him if he'll play in lec.

I love how Meteos is the only pro/ex-pro who thinks Braum is completely broken. The kit is just too good. Tons of CC, tons of tank. The only reason it doesn't get played more in pro is because it doesn't have the best hard engage and usually if you're going to give up hard engage bot lane you have to be getting a steroid for ADC out of the deal, but I think Meteos is right. People are sleeping on Braum.

@@pomni8696 Nah the way GenG played they would have lost to 0-3 to JDG. That GenG threw a game by Peanut solo invading raptors and getting caught out again when his team was backing.
Also no one has drafted as bad as GenG game 4 draft. Renekton/Viego/Ryze/Xayah/Naut has to be some one of the worst drafts ever.

In game 2, the reason Chovy backdoored was because the mid wave was crashing in Gen G’s base and DRX was stalling the fight. By going to their base, Chovy forced a 4v4 fight/50% chance smite fight since Kingen can’t hold Chovy alone. Of course, Pyosik played the smite fight very well with his ult but with Gen G being down that much I think they made the best call they could. Idk I am open for other opinions.
Bruh Chovy was perma tilted from game 1 for some reason. Some questionable choices by Gen G for this set. Go DRX! I still am a T1 fan but wouldn't mind DRX winning too.
