    Excellent review. I have three questions though:
    1. Was the aircon still switched ON when you were climbing in top gear on the steep incline towards Winnie Mandela Drive?
    2. When you was in top gear (5th) traveling at the national speed limit (120 km/h), where was the rev counter sitting at?
    3. Relating to question 2, how does this (the gearing) compare to the outgoing car? Does the rev counter sit higher or lower at 120 km/h on the outgoing car?
    Thanks.

    • @oliverskinner8962
      @oliverskinner8962 12 днів тому

      1. The Aircon was switched off
      2. The revs were at 3,500 rpm
      3. Previous car was at 3,200 rpm
      That's just my opinion I doubt you'll get an actual answer it would have been very easy for him to glance the rev counter and tell us all on the video what the revs were sitting at 🙄 I can guarantee this will be better on fuel though especially if you swap the cheap nasty tyres out for premium ones 👌

    • @Johan95-d9c
      @Johan95-d9c 8 днів тому

      Mine is not the latest generation but i don't notice any difference whether the aircon is on or off. I also don't notice any drop in consumption with the aircon on. Mine is geared at 33km/h/1000revs in 5th gear.

      @@Johan95-d9cMy mother has a 2013 1.4L automatic Honda Jazz (technically it's a 1.3L engine) and that car is absolutely breathless with the aircon switched ON. On a flat road it goes well, but the slightest of inclines, and the speed drops like crazy. So Suzuki's engines are geared well then. Nice to know.

      @@Johan95-d9c most cars in the UK would stall in 5th gear at 1000rpm best to keep the RPM at 2000 this will allow the car to go up a small hill but 3000rpn is better and 4000rpm for a big hill

    It's striking to see the differences between the new Swifts in different parts of the world. In Europe (I'm from the Netherlands) all Swifts have the same 3-cylinder engine, but they are supported by a mild hybrid drive. They all have Adaptive Cruise Control with radar, AC, Lane Keep Assist, blind spot recognition, traffic sign recognition and a 9-inch multimedia screen from the basic version. It also has a good audiosysteem with 6 speakers. The dashboard has white parts, which makes everything look a bit fresher. Unfortunately, they are also more expensive than yours.

    • @2Mortal
      @2Mortal 16 днів тому +2

      Yeah in Europe they load their cars but in SA it's bear bones. Bad sound systems and less noise reduction are just a few of the things we have to deal with😢

      Worth mentioning also that Euro cars do come with more spec but ultimately will cost more in SA due to a myriad of factors to consider.

    Older model with the hidden rear handles has the edge on looks but the new model is a street ahead on the interior and equipment but importantly lacks a Sport option.
    We test drove the new shape and it was nice and very economical as we had a UK SZL model with was well equipped anyway it was a difficult decision well we bought an old shape Sport turns out we were willing to forgoe mpg for the looks, ride and handling of the Sport.
    Spec wise the only thing the new model lacks is a heated steering wheel had the new model possessed that it might have swung it.

    • @Autotradersa
      @Autotradersa  8 днів тому

      Though here in South Africa, we don't really have a need for a heated steering wheel in our market but then again with budget cars we can only have so much.

    In UK the swift is a mild hybrid.
    And better equipped.
    We don't get a budget Swift like this one. Which is a shame as it could be quite the cheap buy.
    Also I own a Swift and it's made in Japan rather than India. So the minimum Swift is much higher specced.

      It would be illegal to sell these models here in the UK even though we're no longer in the EU 😞 I laugh because a 2004 Vauxhall Corsa that drives past me doesn't even have ABS or Airbags yet you can still sell it to someone else 🤣

    I disagree on the opinion on the rear lights. The previous gen has a more distinct and futuristic design with the C shaped led strip that wraps around. The hidden door handles on the previous gen also add to the sportier look. The new one looks basic and dull.

      I have this car. In most cases, the engine is sufficient and does the job. I don't know the terrain in SA, but I have noticed that the car struggles to go up 60 degree inclines and its revs continue to drop to a point where it stops. So half way up, I had to put the hand brake on, rev up the engine to about 2k RPM and continue back on my way.
