Dex I have bred and raised these hybrid reds in the past and my advice is to offer them very clean water and do not over populate.
Most ' tilapine' species do best in warmer waters which don't retain a high dissolved oxygen level. Hence my advice to limit population numbers.
Azolla and duckweed are very good food sources for these reds. However if your available water is hard ( which could mean high calcium ) a compound called calcium oxalate will be produced and transferred to the tilapia which in turn transfers to us when we eat the tilapia.
Calcium oxalate promotes kidney stones.

Mr Dexter, in watching your pond video I notice that you crawl in and out of them against only mud walls, sometimes with and without assistance. I humbly recommend that you add ladders next to the walls. This should help with ingress and egress plus help maintain the structure of your pond walls

Bout ur new pond for red tilapia or coi,I think you must prepare a adjustable trap door for the flood to exit your pond,when n if your pond will be flooded.you must be well prepared n one step ahead before disasters comes.😮
