  • Art Nouveau at Pelisor Castle. Queen Marie embracing the novelty style" film refers to the relationship that Queen Marie of Romania had with the Art Nouveau style by presenting the interiors of Pelișor Castle in Sinaia, a place she decorated, but also a place where she worked and created her art. Even during the construction of the castle, the Princess was involved in the plans and collaborated with established artists of the era such as Karel Liman, Bernhard Ludwig, and Hugh Baillie Scott for decorations and furniture. The numerous visits that Crown Princess Marie of Romania made between 1894 and 1901 to Darmstadt were extremely important for her knowledge of the Jugendstil phenomenon and Art Nouveau in general. The art objects she collected are among the most representative of the style, created by renowned artists such as Émile Gallé, René Lalique, Karl Fabergé, Jacob Tostrup, Alphonse Maria Mucha, Gustav Gurschner and others. Not only did Queen Marie design furniture, but she was also a painter. The most important proof of the Queen's talent is the manuscript that she would dedicate in 1906 to her husband, Crown Prince Ferdinand.

Superb! I love the filming, the editing, the soundtrack and the way the Dr Mircea Hortopan presented everything is just perfect. The Queen's room is ethereal.
