First cortex podcast, but I'll be a lifelong listener if you continue to address the great struggle of our age: balancing the expediency of quick feature upgrades vs the mounting jenga tower of dependencies. All features that aren't well integrated are such a pet peeve for me.
Finished listening, like one and an half hour after published ❤️ I just love hearing Mike poking Grey on buying a new PC (building it would make an awesome and instructive vlog tho)
I've been following your main channel for... many many years. This is the first time I realized there was a podcast channel, and it was due to it being posted on Twitter.
For anyone wondering broth is made by putting unused bones/meat in a large pot with some water, vegetables (typically carrots or celery) and aromatics (like rosemary or thyme) and then you simmer it for a while.
Somewhat related to the slack thing, I recently learned Facebook groups have an announcement tab that isn't on their main conversation page. Discord has channels and many discord groups end up creating 1 or 2 announcement/notice channels.
Sure would be nice if UA-cam's unsubscriber metrics were as granular as their subscriber metrics. And Grey, just ask Linus to collab on a build. He can build you a Grey themed PC for streaming. He'd love it.
I just leave Patreon videos I want to watch later as unread in my Inbox. It works well enough, especially since most videos have to be posted on other video sites than UA-cam. I don't see it as convenient on UA-cam, as how often do you go to someone's page on UA-cam?
I like the look of Grey's streaming setup as it gives a feeling "I am doing this because I feel like it" I have no problem with figuring out what's going on Grey's streaming setup I feel that a that a professional setup would make the streams feel more fake So I probably would not enjoy the streams as much if they were professional On a minecraft server the default "render distance" is 10, people rarely use a very high render distance That Grey's computers can not handle max render distance minecraft does not mean it is bad
I'll be honest, I turned off Grey's notifications because I kept waking up to a "Minecraft Notification" where I'd need to pay to see it, which I wouldn't.
Getting rid of subscribers from an awards/metrics standpoint? great. Getting rid of subscribers from a user's standpoint? PLEASE NO. it's the last place that isn't controlled by the algorithm. It's the only place I can see videos from people I decide to. It's the last chronological feed.
The editing topic made me wonder: 1:26:36 1:26:54 are those the same Grey mphms, just ctrl+c and ctrl+v? Edit: no, the 2nd is longer by 0.016s. Still tho, Grey is really precise on his mphms ;)
I would not recommend that Grey gets a Windows PC, not with the current ridiculously expensive PC components market at least. Once the market gets back to reasonable prices, sure.
I am so psyched to see the animation on this. "But nobody will ever know." Also, I bet the journal is sold out already. Edit: I stand corrected!! It is in stock still though the episode came out 5 hours ago. Congrats Myke!
I have subscribed, unsubscribed and resubscribed to CGP Grey. I don't turn on notifications for anything. I even turn off notifications for things where notifications are automatically turned on. I may tune into a live stream to see if I like the flavor, but I don't usually continue to watch that stream.
10/10 podcast. Keep up the good work. I didn't watch the minecraft streams because it seems too distracting but you are right, the podcast is a good background listen. For that reason, I agree cursing is less than ideal, plus you both are too smart to use language like that.
I’ve found Streaming on a Mac is great with eCamm Live. It’s a more polished, more capable, less rubber bands and chewing gum version of OBS (which is SO much better on PC than Mac).
thank you for all the extra work you both do to edit and polish this podcast :3
Wait, this isn’t a CGP Grey Minecraft stream?! Just give in to the addiction, Grey. You know you want to….
More grey Minecraft livestreams are yes !!
me: just about to go to bed
cortex: *uploads*
podcast hangover
Ditto. I'm going to fall asleep to this and see if I absorb it via osmosis. ; )
Work hangover? Are you a workaholic?
Only 7 mins in and already looking forward to HM Boutet's animations
The concept of a drunken grey is hysterical to me.
The "but nobody will ever know" at the end killed me 😂😂😂😂
Don't think I've listen to any of these podcast. Sure, I'll start here
Don’t forget “hello internet”
update us in a few weeks when you burnt out the back catalogue

You're not alone Myke. The hangovers be real.

Don't get too invested. He had another podcast he did where he just stopped doing it randomly. Never mentioned it again.
Check out his other podcast hello internet to. It has not been uploaded on in almost a year but theres 100+ episodes out that are really good/
@@Ksteele04 They are on a break, there's a blog post from brady giving a brief explanation
I will absolutely be here for Myst.
Myke explaining getting a PC to Grey is like a young person explaining crypto to old people.
Yes! a hangover can happen when you're sleep-deprived~! Do look it up, the brain experiences the same thing when you're hungover and sleep deprived!
we have one of the fake windows in our office on the celling, its quite strange when its dark/raining outside but always sunny up above you.

Normally you don't have to grind down the bones, right?

The feeling of being hung over is a symptom of dehydration
Not exclusively but rehydration with electrolytes helps hugely

Binging with Babish made a drinkable bone broth for a nice kick.

I looked at the screenshot and damn that looks so complicated.

I don't want the unedited podcast. I just want to hear it before Myke has removed all the times Grey says, "fanny."

I am lost
huh
Does this mean there are going to be sponsor spots with hung-over Myke slipped into future podcasts?

OH, so this is where Grey has been podcasting. I miss Hello Internet, and this doesn't fill the gap as Myke's voice grates on me.
I would just like to say as a person who sometimes has hearing issues some subtitles would be really nice.
It would take an incredibly long amount of time to subtitle a podcast

These people forgot the RSS feed lmfao

Seriously? Suggesting that Grey buys a PC is blasphemy!
