Director Ma Shing takes the characters from the famous Chinese novel ‘Heroes of the Marshes’ and pits them against a corrupt official Kao Chu (who’s trying to kill them all before they make a truce with the Emperor and expose him as the criminal that he is). This involves challenging five or six of the heroes’ best fighters to a kung fu tournament. Fantastic Wu Shu action from start to finish.

My brother and me and my uncle, God bless the dead, used to watch this movie every weekend in the early 90s before he passed. We still have a VHS copy of this, case and whole, at the crib. I haven't watched this movie in over 25 years. My all time favorite martial arts film, Warriors Of The Sung Dynasty. Thank you for sharing this.

Description outlines the plot of the movie. In many ways this film is a masterpiece of fighting, story line, and uninterrupted action. Some hints ahead: 20 minutes in the fighting starts. Kao Chu is up against the "Leng Shang" gang. The councilor invites leader Sung Chan to that tournament. By his side is his best fighter "Yen Chin". The woman with sword attacks Chu's place. Sung Chan is kidnapped with attempt to free him is made. Yen fights 4 specialists while a major battle with troops goes on elsewhere. Sung Chan's men fight Chu's with every conceivable weapon there is. "Sword Woman" disguised gets in to Chu's to try to kill him. 110 mark the tournament begins with amazing martial arts. Meantime Yen is fighting Temple men. This is just some of the great action in this fine, fine film. NOTE: As a special bonus for some of us the movie and its cast are all new or never seen before.
That drunken style bit is my favourite Kung Fu fight of all time

As it turn out, that poor girl never got her revenge for losing both of her parents & foster parents.
