I've played F1 for years now, with a controller and always played with the TV pod view. But I recently got a wheel and it feels absolutely ridiculous to drive TV pod view. I can't comprehend how professional eSports drivers get away with this. The eSports races should be cockpit view only.
idk how those guys get away with driving with the wheel and seat in the wrong position, with tv pod cam, and on F1 of all games, it doesnt feel remotely realistic at all.
@@adamtravers856 no it's definitely possible but more difficult. This camera angle is pretty poor but if it was set a little higher there's a lot of visibility. E-Sport drivers are supposed to be the best anyway so they should just deal with it, and have the full halo on.
I tried to play the game this way (I have an ultrawide so I can see the mirrors more easily) but the main problem was the lack of communication with the engineer. There's no way to know if there's a RedBull flying behind you after a pitstop or any sort of proactive communication from the engineer about things I should've been made aware like the car behind just boxed or anything like that. Unfortunely, I don't think it's viable to play this way long term because the engineer won't give you enough information to compensate the lack of HUD. I tried requesting the engineer to give me more updates so many times, but the situation remains the same.
@@talibjames2659or program your own telemetry application and attach it to chatGPT. Then code voice recognition and text to speech. How hard could that be!
I had the same problem when playing in VR. The engineer just doesn't give anywhere near enough information. So, even in VR, I ended up turning the track map and timings back on, just so I could have some situational awareness. Otherwise, if no one is in your mirrors, you don't even know if the next car is 2 seconds or 30 seconds behind you.
@@Dilandau3000 and they have all the correct lines in my opinion, just too low in frequency. And asking the engineer for “more updates” doesn’t seem to do much. He even tells you when certain cars are boxing or what tires are on around you. Just not for all cars for some reason. The only thing they really are missing is calculating where you would come out if you boxed now, or 2-3 laps time. Which is probably hard to code in I imagine. I guess they are also missing warnings for track limits. There’s a corner cut warning line. But not actually an exceeding track limits warning line
Oh please, don't be one of those simulator snobs. The F1 game is very good. I'm not arguing it's the best physics simulation but it's good and better every year. I play ACC and Competizione too. And they each feel a little different but it's not like they are worlds apart.
if possible, please more cockpit 100% races. HUD enabled concerning drivers in front and position but no Lap-HUD and MFD. if this idea is welcomed and taken notice of, i'd wish for either Silverstone or Hungary as a Track
I have set up my cockpit view to be more like I have it on iRacing where it's like I'm in the car, not looking at another steering wheel on the screen. This would help a lot for finding proper turn in spots etc.
would be a nice touch if the AI could be penalised for track invalidation, like real drivers do. just look at the Austrian GP. also disqualification for unsportsmanlike behaviour, penalties for ignoring safety car regulations or ignoring yellow flags. furthermore speeding in the pitlane, ignoring blue flags. maybe a feature concerning underfueling for AI would be nice, being implemented by notably forcing the AI to activeley fuel save or even run out of fuel in the dying laps of a race
Challenge: Always leave a da space. You should try winning a last to first race, but you can’t assume the racing line until after you are fully ahead of the other car. It’s sure to cause some frustration when the AI go for an ill-advised move
idk how f1 hasn’t made the camera angle move the drivers head or have an option for the camera to look into the corner as you turn like most other racing sims
the only thing you can do to adjust this is moving the camera back in the cockpit, slightly raising the view and turning the angle down a bit, and having a massive FOV. definitely makes cockpit cam a lot more realistic and emersive but makes it difficult to have a consistent precise line as a larger FOV distorts the track and car which can take some getting use to
Close one of your eyes, put a finger in front of the eye you have open (Just like the halo) and then open your other eye. You will be able to see behind the finger. The F1 game however only have one eye that the player looks from which is why this doesnt work in the game.

Maybe, if cockpit came was more streamlined, and QOL features like native triple screen support were a thing.
it because of the lack of viewing and input from the game, as shown here, you literally would have so many issues

Just makes it feel more real
Yessss I feel like this is a validation as it's how I play 💪🏼 Cockpit, no HUD or anything and I love that track!
Just curious if anyone knows what the green rectangle in bottom right and red rectangle in bottom left of the steering dash represent?

is the live telemetry a mod?
What are some good wheels/pedals that are relatively cheap?
if u adjust the settings in cockipit u can make it look so good
This is how I play career mode. All the info you need is on the wheel or can be learnt by asking your engineer.
Ive never played on tv pod, last time i checked you dont sit on top of the car😂
umm there is a bind for look left and right bro maybe yk , you can look left or right in cockpit
Cockpit cam is the way to go in simulation games anyways and what would you need HUD for at all?
bro this is how you play the f1 games
Even in cockpit cam. You still have a bit of room to raise your camera up
I don’t like t cam tbh, I always use nose alt because I feel like it’s the best between seeing and immersion
This is what I see in VR all the time, no HUD, wish it was as pretty as the actual game tho
still not real , the halo part still invisible
Cockpit cam should be mandatory for F1 esports
It was your fault Alex to not stay in track limits. Every open wheel driver has to do it in this view from a very low POV
Was this fov okay for you, Alex? It looks very far back.

People go for the most realistic wheel and pedal feeling and then use T Pod 💀. T Pod is also less fun to watch.
