    REALLY great advice!! Tip #1 so so incredibly important, and I feel like it is these 'map dependent' or 'board dependent' or 'matchup dependent' that really make this game so good. If it were so simple it'd be solved and become boring. It's the complexity that makes players come back and want to get better and constantly look to innovate strategically. Great video!

    I can definitely agree with the nuance tip. In almost no circumstances would I ever build a day 7 bomber on a standard map, but in round 4 of Amariner Cup 2 it turned out to be the best option for me.

    hey you, yes you AWBW player who is aware of the cardinal sins of over extending and fighting a losing battle. Here is a simple fact of why this may be happening.
    Reinforcement stacking: When retreating the fronline shifts backwards by approximately 1 reinforcement turn, thus not only skipping the need for the first set of reinforcements to move but also allowing the second set to reach the frontlines in a single turn, effectivily causing the retreating army to gain 2 turns worth of reinforcements.
    A pratical example: In fog you attack your opponents frontline that has 2 tanks supported by 3 infantry with your 3 tanks and 3 infantry, managing to kill 1 of the 2 tanks.
    Your opponent wisely chooses to retreat causing reinforcement stacking to occur.
    In this case 2 additional tanks and 2 infantry that were capping property behind the lines, resulting in a total army of 3 tanks with 5 supporting infantry. (That you don't know due to fog)
    When you foolishly choose to continue the attack your infantry would be left behind due to movement differences causing the attacking army to be 3 tanks with no infantry and, more often than not, into the opponents side of the map. A surefire way to lose that front.
    Stay on your toes and eyes open.
    Retreating, done properly, is a far more powerful strategy than one would initially think.

    The most common mistakes I see/make is choosing the wrong CO (when I don't troll). For example, I recently played a Live Queue game with Nell on a 2 base map, but didn't had the infantry numbers, I would have had on a 3 base map to fully utilize her strenght of mowing down opposing tech units with Infantry. Similar, I saw people pick Eagle on mixed base, Lash on heavy copter maps etc.

    Interesting tips. I'm not a pro but I would have added to tip 2 that also position of a terrain may be important. In the sense that maybe attacking from a road instead of a forest can make sense if the flexibility for instance for controlling better the map weights more than the difference on damage you take.
    Map control is a difficult concept, and I'm starting to see how impactful is to see if things are covered also in terms of days further than the next

    How do you pick the best time to build transports, especially Bboats and Landers? I always have trouble choosing the right timing and my transports end up only doing a couple of boosts before being sacked.

    • @DeejusProductions
      @DeejusProductions  9 місяців тому +2

      Honestly on most maps I don't build bboats or landers, the only exceptions really being if I'm ahead in income or I'm Sasha and I want to use my excess income to reduce reinforcement times. For example if you check out the Kantbei/Elagatua game. Tcopters are a whole different story though and I probably can't summarize it in a YT comment

  • @VestedUTuber

    So... what do I do if my opponent decides to just turtle outside my unit range and just outright won't commit to an attack unless they have an extremely overwhelming advantage (as in an unreasonable advantage, not just having an extra tank or two)?

    • @DeejusProductions
      @DeejusProductions  4 дні тому

      If they are turtling you've already won, since you should have more properties. AWBW very very rarely reaches that state though- as most people realize it doesnt work

    Most of these are not simple tricks. The first one is the worst, you could have just said "Be smarter, stop being so dumb" and it would have been a much more concise version of the same idea.

    • @zacbounce3805
      @zacbounce3805 10 місяців тому +10

      I think he's just saying to consider all factors before making decisions. Maybe you need more nuance in your review. 😋😎😁

    • @inversepie6512
      @inversepie6512 10 місяців тому

      @zacbounce3805 Intelligence is, among other things, the ability to consider multiple factors. Dummies can only think about one or two factors at a time whereas smarties can consider many, many factors.

    • @zacbounce3805
      @zacbounce3805 10 місяців тому +1

      @@inversepie6512 yeah but I think the "nuance" part is just a reminder to Constantly question yourself and never fall into the same patterns and habits. Despite how many times we play the game and maps this sentiment during any game can be lost. I think that's why it's here.

    • @SchemingGoldberg
      @SchemingGoldberg 10 місяців тому +2

      I disagree. There are different ways of being smart, just like how there are different branches of mathematics, different branches of engineering, different branches of science. Precision matters, reducing language down to just the concept of "smart" is... not a smart thing to do. Be more nuanced in the way you describe smartness.

    • @zacbounce3805
      @zacbounce3805 10 місяців тому +2

      @@SchemingGoldberg exactly my thoughts. Thank you for having a better explanation than my own. Dare I say it was nuanced ;)
