As someone who edits a lot of photos in PS, I highly recommend unchecking the "Delete Cropped Pixels" option at the top. This will let you go back and edit your edges (or crop to a different size) if you've made an adjustment you're not happy with without having to hit undo a million times. This was very informative, thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this... You have no idea how much I appreciate this... Many many years ago... I painted watercolor.. I sold only originals... we really didn't do prints unless you were a professional and it cost a lot... finally in the late 80s I could pay for prints... It cost $6.00 for a print of an 8" x" 10" and I was so happy to pay that!!! LOL.. I got a printer... I paid $259. a month to RENT it!!! LOL Printing has come a long way!! ... (Boy do I feel old)... (Smile)....
Very informative and detailed video, thank you for sharing!!! Love seeing artists being loose with their choices too instead of going crazy on what is the right way to go, takes so much pressure off!
This was exactly then video I needed right now! I have a watercolor piece that I have really wanted to make prints of, and now I also have someone wanting to buy the original. It’s a good friend so they’re giving me as much time as I need to figure out the printmaking proceeds, but I’ve been very stuck! This was extremely helpful, thank you ♡
Hey I have some tips that will help you with your work flow. * Get a colour balancing tool. It really helps match the screen to what you are printing if you are adjusting. * To get true colour the same as the scan, familiarise yourself with the colour curve tool in photoshop. It has a white, black and grey pickers. It allows you to pick what you feel is the complete white (in this case the paper) and complete black and even grey and it automatically adjusts the image to fit that colour. * Calibrate your printer and scanner. It would be easier with a tool but can also be done by hand. That way they are one and the same. You can save the calibration specific to each paper.
One of UA-cams suggestions that was really informative. With this printer and your work flow I could be selling my own made prints of photos etc...much appreciated Laurie
Thank you for making this video so consise, you were so helpful ; clearing up many questions I had espically about proofs and printing! Lovely backround music and also your voice is so calming!!
Hi Arleesha. Thank you so much for sharing your process. I’m actually scouting on these process see how it’ll help me jump start on mine. I think this is actually very informative and you were able to cover exactly what I needed to hear. 💞 New subscriber here by the way.
This was very informative! The print came out so true to the original. Very beautiful. Somehow, my prints come out suuuper dull compared to the original and I've tried pretty much everything at this point but I cannot figure it out. So much ink and paper wasted..yikes
I got my scanner/printer because I believe Audra Auclair uses the same and her prints come out super good. I'm also very iffy about the way I want my prints to look so I'm scared about having them printed elsewhere. But I might start doing that as printing myself is such a disaster unfortunately. A lot of ink and good paper has been wasted :( Thanks for your thoughts, I appreciate it!
Thanks for sharing this! You're a really big inspiration to me and especially in the last couple of weeks you've made me work on my art career much harder ❤️ I hope the break you take gives you the rest you deserve!
Thank you for making this video. I really appreciate that you answered my question in a previous vid! This video is the clearest answer on what you do but I also love it’s not a 30-40 min. vid. I lose attention and it gets confusing when they start to explain like you should already know all these crazy terms previously lol. Oh! One more thing, are you still loving your scanner and canon?
How has your journey been with discovering biodegradable slips? Have you found any that you prefer to use that work well with the prints you sell? Would love to know :) Thank you for sharing your process 💛 It’s super helpful and I learned a lot
Can you please share your templates in the description or show us how to make them? Ive been searching for ages trying to find how to print more then one image on one page in both photo shop and my canon printer and this is the best I've seen so far but the template info was to brief for me to understand.
Thank you! I was always wondering about this. Have you done this with canvases? I have paintings on just some standard thickness canvases I have wanted to do prints of and was wondering if this scanner would do those okay?
maybe you mentioned this and I didn't understand, but why don't you resize the image rather than cropping? since the file is already such a large DPI scan you wouldn't be losing any information by sizing down (if I understand correctly)
Great video. Thx for sharing your process! What kind of inks do you use in your printer and how you find out if they are lightfast? If you wanna save the extra click with the stamp tool: the repair tool is great for simple jobs like dust spots. Have a great time off :-)
are you able to scan prints to your computer into photoshop using a canon prixma 6820? it’s a scanner and printer like this one, instead of buying a separate scanner?? Thanks!
Hi there, I love your video thank you for making it. I just had a question. Are your prints in this video a little smaller than 5x7? I was curious because I made a template for printing two 5x7s like you did only mine fit side by side with no room inbetween sides or middle to spare lol
Did you have to calibrate your screen with your canon pro 100? I am lost doing sticker sheets and art prints from digital work i primarilly use procreate on my ipad pro and my prints come out super washed out and not accurate to the screen
Thank you very much. Learned a lot. Enjoy your time of UA-cam. Curious what you will do next. And those bio degradable thingies...please do tell what you think of them when the time comes. Thanks again!
The artwork is never what it was...the artwork is the artwork that is the final printed piece...regardless of where changes are made, whether in the painted work or the digital enhancements...
I just bought the same printer and am having trouble getting the colors right. It looked great in Photoshop, but when I printed my piece, the colors were all very dull and faded, even though it’s supposed to be very bright. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? This is so frustrating and is holding me back from sending out my prints! :(
What kind of paper are you using? Each one will cause the colors to look at least a little different! Are you using the ink that came with the printer? Cheaper alternatives for this type of printer won't naturally produce the same colors. Also, I would recommend calibrating your monitor, if you haven't already. :]
Thank you for such an informative and helpful video!! I've just recently made my own online store (haylsart.com) to sell prints of my art, so I hope I can manage to actually get some orders soon too :)
arleebean I use glass lenses wipes but god, I keep my scanner locked in a drawer, away from the cats. Doesn’t matter how much I clean it, it’ll have lint on it 😂😭
Your printer already gives you a white border which you don't need to cut away before sending it to the customer who decides to buy the print and make their life easier if they want to frame the work. But of course, you are not going to do that. I get it. 😜

I agree with leaving the imperfections. They're beautiful 😊

Best art youtuber I've found. I always learn something, and it's always really relaxing to watch someone paint. Keep it up
Thank you, that's very kind! :3
You’re doing it right. Keep it RGB unless you’re going offset. AFAIK Inkjet printers convert to RGB on the fly anyway. PS. You ROCK.
Whew, thank you!! Info very much appreciated. AND YOU ALSO ROCK
This is the best tutorial on this subject that I have seen. Thank you!
I enjoyed watching each step. Usually I just skip around but not this time. Your videos are really calming. So talented.
your videos are always so nice! thank you for sharing all of this info i'm trying to make art prints and this was extremely helpful!!

Michele Schoonackers maybe you could use a different scanner/printer, that may help
@@hehebugs1141 I think they might be on a budget. Not everyone can buy expensive equipment
Twistymoo yeah you’re right, but maybe there’s a better printer/scanner that isn’t too expensive
@@hehebugs1141 sadly everything good is expensive.

Thank very much for this video, it was just what I was looking for
Thanks for putting this in the shop:)
I just found your channel and I LOOOVE it

Why you didn't save the edited artwork as a TIFF file? and what file you use to print your artwork after editing? Thanks!!
how many prints can you print with your printer before having to change your ink cartridges?
thanks a lot. youre videos are helpful and inspirational
Can you use a regular HP laptop to print
these? on that printer?
Thank you so much, this is so helpful x

Where do you get the supplies to package them nicely? Like the plastic that protects them?
Hi there, I love your video thank you for making it. I just had a question. Are your prints in this video a little smaller than 5x7? I was curious because I made a template for printing two 5x7s like you did only mine fit side by side with no room inbetween sides or middle to spare lol
I've seen a lot of artist using canon printer but I had a bad experience with one that stopped working after a week so I'm hesitant to buy another...

Ah this was such an in insightful video.
Are you using archival ink?
Hey arleebean!!! I was wondering if you could recommend some reliable sites, other than Amazon, to purchase art supplies from!!
Not that early but kinda early haha. I love your videos!
The artwork is never what it was...the artwork is the artwork that is the final printed piece...regardless of where changes are made, whether in the painted work or the digital enhancements...
Time to buy a good scanner, any recommendations for how to make it work for bigger canvas sizes?
Learn how to photograph your work. Beats scanners most of the time...:) And then process like arleebean.
Love your video.... Is it possible to print sticker sheets???? With this printer
Yes! I've printed all of my stickers on printable vinyl for a while now. :)
Thank you so much.... Your so talented

Ellary Rose would love to hear if you fixed it and how
very nice video... keep up the good work!😍😇😊💖 best wishes from a fellow artist...
"Thumbs UP"

How do you clean/keep your scanner lint-free?
For me. I use one of those cloths for your phone screen and wipe the area. It's not gonna be completely lint-free but it helps.
Canned air is really helpful too! Just have to clean every once in a while :)
arleebean I use glass lenses wipes but god, I keep my scanner locked in a drawer, away from the cats. Doesn’t matter how much I clean it, it’ll have lint on it 😂😭
