It's doubtful that if Bjorling lived to be 61 years of age, he could even sing because of his excessive consumption of alcohol which contributed to his early death when he was still in his prime. By the way, what's the point of coming on to a singer's site and stating that another artist sang it better? However, Bjorling did not sing it better at age 61
I love Gigli - He has always been my favorite tenor since I was a little girl. I heard this song of Tosti for the first time by Ben Heppner of Vancouver BC on his album Ideale. Finally, I had discovered another singer with the same beautiful tone as Gigli. Thank you. A fan from Canada.

Scusatemi tanto, ma la storia passa, e la voce resta, imperocché fra quella di Gigli e quella di Lauri Volpi non c'è proprio gara. Gigli non può più pagare lo scotto di essere stato, più o meno convintamente, fascista. La sua voce è la più grande, perfino di Caruso. Chiuso.
Non dica scemenze. Sono grandi entrambi e imparagonabili. Lauri Volpi cercava meno il favore del pubblico mentre Gigli era un piacione.. diciamo pure ruffiano.

I think feruccio tagliavini is the best for this song , believe me!!!!! He sings best and better than any other singers!!!
