Hi Harriet, this is a wonderful video. Your voice is so calming and unhurried. This is how watercolour should be; lovely and transparent. I love your beautifully balanced composition, choice of colours, and your lovely sinuous curves. And you paint such thin lines. A pleasure to watch! 😀😀😀
How lovely to watch, listen and learn. Like how you have very close up filming while you tell us you are looking for the spaces! Really great information.
Oh my goodness I absolutely LOVE your channel! You do the EXACT same kind of painting I have always wanted to learn. Thank you so much ❤️ What a gifted teacher and artist you are.
Stunning, the metallic paint come out amazing. I didn’t know watercolour came with metallics, now I’m intrigued and inspired. Thank you so much for sharing
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! What tenderness, delicacy!... She looked spellbound. I reviewed many master classes, but it was in yours that I saw the advice I needed. Inspiration to you and all the brightest and kindest!
Hallo Harriet, I enjoyed you painting these dry flowers....I'm certainly ging to do my best to do so too. I just got your book as a present from my husband and soon I will start practicing and going to enjoy myself in doing so. Greetings from Charlotte, the Netherlands 😘🎨🖌
That's just so Lovely! You've done a stunning job with your soft and delicate flowers that compliment each other. The metallic just adds so much life to the entire painting. I love it so much Harriet.
I love This Harriet 💖 I looked to buy this in your USA SHOP and it said it was “Not Available”. I was so sad🥲 I am going to give this one a try from your tutorial and although you make it look easy because you are a fantastic artist - it will be a bit more challenging for me but I shan’t give up…!! Thank you for sharing your time and talent. You are a wonderful person🥰💞💖
These are lovely, Harriete, & after being unable to paint for 6 weeks because of a major move, it's lovely to be back on your Channel! These are beautiful! Fanna Turano Denver, CO
This is a really lovely piece which would look great framed and on any wall. So nice, love it. Something for me to try this weekend. Thanks for another inspirational video.
Oh Harriet! You’re such an inspiration to me. I love the transparency in this piece and then the metallics just top it off beautifully. I’ve been using the Mozart metallics and so glad you mentioned about the need for thickness. These paints tend to disappear in the water if not left thick. I love them. I’ll be brave and give this one a try. Thank you for sharing. Blessings to you!
This is beautiful. So delicate. Your book arrived last week. It is a lovely book. The layout is great for a beginner like me. I am looking forward to painting my way through it.
Thank you so much for inspiring me to pick up my brush, instructions are delivered with such patience, I enjoyed trying this and I am reasonably pleased with my first attempt.
I can’t tell you how much it means you saying that. I have had eczema on my face this past year and it’s knocked my confidence massively. I usually don’t wear any makeup at all but for filming I just put on a tiny bit of foundation, eyebrows and mascara. A good primer and facial oil underneath does wonders for glow!
Ahhh I can imagine how hard that is to deal with. I have psoriasis on my scalp and it can be very depressing. (Coconut oil has helped intermittently) No, really your skin looks lovely! Bright and fresh. 💕 Good luck and thank you for your lovely videos.
I just adore this and your precision always amazes me! As I mentioned in a previous comment, I’m signing up for your Patreon today :). Have a lovely Easter weekend!

I absolutely love this video! 😍 I do have some Finetec colors at home, but I never know how to use them in my paintings. Now i've seen this tutorial, I'm absolutely going to use them more often! Thank you for sharing this with us! 🥰
Love, love, love your work, method and teaching. Am following everything!! Have bought your botanical book as well😍. Your brush strokes are AMAZING; eg your leaves. Do you have a lesson on exclusively painting leaves?
Another fabulous tutorial, thank you. I love the subtle layering and really envy you your brush control. Just when I get a smooth line flowing, I have a wobble! Lots more practice methinks! x
I thoroughly enjoy watching your tutorials! Thank you so much for taking time to encourage us and help us become better at the artistry of watercolor. I do have one request… Would you mind trying a different sound tract of music.? The one that currently is the background for your tutorials becomes quite monotonous and intrudes upon the enjoyment of watching you and learning. Once again, thank you so much for the time you give and your great knowledge!
I love your style painting and your great explanations! In a future video I would like yo see you painting my favourite one, Cape marguerite (Dimorphotheca ecklonis), in light purple and bright orange 😍🌼
Hello Harriet! Your video tutorials are EXCELLENT and inspiring! Can you please list all of the colors in your Finetec metallic pallete? Thank you so much.!!
@@deWintonPaperCo Yes but only the 2 colors you used are listed; I was looking for the names of the entire palette colors... that's ok! By the way, I was watching another one of your videos where you talked about your book (blue cover) and i was like "DARN! I just bought a book and I WISH I had bought hers!" So I checked and it WAS your book with the Pink (USA) Cover!! I WAS SO HAPPY! It's an amazing book and so helpful! Thank you!! I am so enjoying your tutorials!!
Ciao, bellissimo lavoro! I colori sono bellissimi e armoniosi insieme, brava. Mi sono iscritta al tuo canale…. anche se non capisco quello che dici. 😉 Ciao
Thanks for this tutorial - I followed along and do have some of the Fine Tec Iridescent colors, but mine are less pigmented or darkly colored than yours. Do you think I could mix some watercolor pigment with them in order to get a darker tint???
I love your videos and you, Harriet. Pleass dont take this badly but your background music gives me anxiety. I dont know if its the thing sounds like a ventilator. Any chance of no music or different
Lovely! I am one of those folks who sit with a coffee and watch you!
That’s so nice to know Alison!

Lovely job, young lady. Thank you.
Thank you too!
I love this, we have grown flowers specifically for drying for years, and never dreamed of painting them
It’s funny isn’t it how we don’t think to paint them. I highly recommend having a go

Harriet I have found a Windsor Newton ‘rigger brush, and although it’s narrow, the bristles are short compared to the one you’re using here.
Hi Johanna, you can get rigger brushes in different sizes. Mine is a pro arte prolene size 0.
Love this, can't wait to try doing my own. X

Hi there. I really like your style of painting. Thank you. Just one question. Can you burnish these metallic watercolour paints?
I don’t know!

Yes you want to get them quite thick
