played against yuriko quite a lot and multiple ninja triggers per turn always won the game. so cards like arcane adaption will turn all your rogues into ninjas. Insidious Dreams for 3 into 3 ninja trigger ends the game.
I play yuriko as a reanimator deck. Look at it this way. Turn one, you draw a card, play a land and a 1 drop. turn two, draw a card play your second land, attack and bounce the one drop, hit with youriko. that gives you a trigger und you draw your 8th card turn two. that way you have to discard to handsize and drop a reanimator target like jin gitaxias for free into your graveyard very reliable at the end of your second turn. You run a lot of big creatures like jin, it that betrayes and so on. that way you are very likely to reanimate a threat turn three and you fill your deck with huge cmc cards to hit with your yuriko triggers. if you reanimate your razaketh you sac yuriko wright into him and fetch your doomsday or your beloved burried alive and victimice two reanimate mike and is artifact friend. to round things up we play few lands (since reanimator does not need that much mana) and ramp- that gives us enough room for a very huge and ugly suit of counterspells. there you are. an aggro deck, that will dish out enormous dmg early on, having your enemys deal with an early reanimator threat while your are assembling the combos. all protected by 12 to 15 counterspells. love your channel
Ive been revamping her. God eternal kefnet with scroll rack is auto include with extra turn spells. Arcane adaptation as well. I’ve also found her interaction with words of waste is extremely interesting as far as discard is concerned
I tried a version of this deck and run into a little design contradiction. In order to actually use Commander Ninjutsu as soon as posible, many small unblockable creatures are needed, but their low mana cost lowers the benefit of Yuriko's life loss. I couldn't find an equilibrium point between the amount of little attackers and high-enough cost cards. The amount of little attackers was always insuficient to ninja-play Yuriko in early turns and replay it if died to removal, so I ended up using lots of 0-1 cost attackers, making the commander playable, but at the high cost of nullifying the opponents' life loss by Yuriko's trigger. Maybe I had a hard time because I tried it mostly against tier 1 decks.
I am a skeptic to the tap and burn because of this. I think you should have another plan with your deck. Like doomsday or this Emrakul. And then have this Yuriko burn thing as a backup plan.
This deck looks GREAT! I always enjoy your videos. My Yuriko deck is all unblockable creatures, counterspells, discard effects, and things and effects that deal half life total damage, like Fraying Omnipotence and Quietus Spike, with Archfiend of Despair to seal the deal. It also runs all the Transmute spells to act as tutors. The idea is to stay ahead of the curve of the symmetrical effects like with Fraying Omnipotence and Death Cloud with the unblockable creatures with discard and counterspell backup. It doesnt always get there, but its fun to play lol.
Very cool! I'm putting together a stax heavy build of Yuriko. Have you considered Contamination? If you have an artifact that can produce blue and a creature (hopefully unblockable and black like Tormented Soul) you can sac Yuriko to Contamination and ninjitsu her back each turn to help keep players locked out of colors.
Interesting, I was just thinking of building a Yuriko deck. However I was thinking of throwing in a doomsday package for either a labman win or flip into big things. I was also debating going into some extra turn cards that I can cast on the cheap like temporal trespass, temporal mastery and part the waterveil. I did not think about attrition for the deck, that is a pretty sweet include. Another sweet include could be creatures that ETB like spellseeker and trinket mage!
Interesting! I have started to include Yuriko in other decks where I have cards like: Spellseeker - imperial recruiter - eternal witness and other variants. And I like it. If my Spellseeker gets past blockers its 2 mana to draw a spellseeker draw a random card and each opponents loss some life and get 1/3. I think I am going to play Yuriko in many other decks I have just because if this grindy value. Now. I think doomsday pile is the stronger build. With LAB MAN. Yuriko for good card draw and burn back up plan. And doomsday as the main wincone.
I'd hold off from building or upgrading her for now, obviously get the staples needed. As it's rumoured to be going to kamigawa after ravnica so we should see some new ninja synergy.
kamigawa? i thought about theros, since the increasing Color intensity, but also i think they said a one Plane set (like DOM) coming is a kind of nordic plane we haven't seen before?
It's only rumoured to be kamigawa, I cannot confirm with any kind of reliable source from the internet. But I sure hope it is as I've put £50 on the line with a friend.
hummmm. That is a really good card for Emrakul. I haven't played it myself or seen any other Yuriko player use it. Is it useful? What dose it give you?
I run lab maniac, thassa's oracle / consultation, pact with a million tutors. Opp always frets about my yuriko triggers and then I play insidious dreams into dig into oracle and consultation, lol.
yes, it can. But the ability to steal a turn is on cast and also on the stack. So if they counterspell the creature the ability is still on the stack and can only be stifled.
@@cedhtv When that which was taken was stolen from the supreme Kami O-Kagachi, the spirit realm and terrenal realm division was blurred, that opened the possibility for some very powerful Kami, to travel to other planes. @@davidhutchinson4043 Do you have a commander in mind? If not then maybe at least the colors you want to play? Theres so many cedh combos that its hard to narrow it down.
