It is not June's aunt and uncle. It is her sister and brother-in-law that were murdered. It was her niece Janet's parents.

How neat you found Harriet Tubman's home

Harriet Tubman also adopted a teen blind girl from the Auburn Orphanage...no one else wanted to "adopt" her, most older orphans were offered as servants/hired hands to families...after a trial period they could bring the orphans back

👍🤩💝I was cracking up @ 6:10 at that red car parked right next to your RV in that empty parking lot. That kind of stuff happens to me all of the time, people will choose a spot next to me, no matter if it’s an empty parking lot, an empty waiting room, empty coffee shop, no matter the vehicle, car, boat, bus etc. i have accepted the fact that I have such good energy that it makes me a magnet. People just can’t resist. 😂🤣😆💝
Thanks for sharing the Harriett Tubman property/ house in Auburn. I love upstate New York. I love that you add historical info to your videos. Safe travels. 🙏💝

Carolyn I have been following since I discovered you and your dear Capone in 2015. I was newly 21 and in college living with my grandma and caring for her. Then my mom who struggles with alcoholism was sentenced to 3 years in prison and didn’t come home until 2018. Your videos have been a blessing ever since. I also live in Southern Ohio! I would have freaked out if I randomly saw you and Sadie somewhere! I would have to get a pic with you! Blessings to you and your adventures. Thank you for this channel 😇

The guy who said "nothing wrong with that" probably meant it in a good way. Just thinking about it and how others have used it, usually it is by people who do find things "wrong" with what people choose to do. I think he gave you a positive comment, just my perspective, and great video as usual!!!

There are 2000 to 4000 waterfalls in NY state and Letchworth state park is called the grand canyon of the east. The original electric chair is on display in Swabys Tavern in Auburn NY. Tremain state park has great hiking trails too.

Hi there! Is there any chance you are stopping in Watkins Glen? It’s a beautiful little village on Seneca Lake…another one of the Finger Lakes. It is known for its beautiful gorges, wineries and Nascar auto racing. There’s also Corning and Ithaca nearby…you have probably heard of them. Regardless of your plans, I hope you enjoy yourself in Upstate!

Love this video. Thanks for the recipe for the “ice cream” treats. I too have a sweet tooth so this at least has some nutritional value. we were in the Finger Lakes area in May with our camper trailer. Really amazed at all of the history. We enjoyed the Women’s Rights Museum in Seneca Falls. Love the story of Harriet Tubman as well.

Wow! Your in my neck of the woods. The place is ancient and magical in the summer here. But winter is so difficult it's like being in Yukon. LOL you have to be able to withstand several months of brutal winds and snow and a never ending bitter cold that goes right through you. No joke. It was ok as a kid, but in my older years it's become hard to get through. I've referred it as Antarctica forever. Paradise in summer Antarctica in winter. The fresh water lakes and wineries draw millions every year. Good video! Thanks for giving a bit of history of where I'm from :) 😊 safe travels! ❤

My neighbors across the street and to the left of me, insist on parking right next to my mailbox, in front of my house, even though they have ample space in front of their own homes! Drives me crazy; not just because I don’t understand it, but if my mailman is having a bad day, he will not get out of his truck to deliver my mail and when my own friends and family come to visit, they have to park in front of my neighbors’ houses! It just makes no sense. I think they use my mailbox as their guide of some sort. So, I understand the frustration.

LG is nasty in The Lakes as the temperature rises I also believe it causes many health issues so stay clear from it, it seems to be hot everywhere I'm 9,000 ft up and we are at 90° with the breeze on the lake where people are skiing and swimming after a very busy 4th of July weekend🎉 so with the heat and algae in The Lakes we have fire time so far we're blessed here without any fires and many of us continue to pray that we will not have to evacuate this area, I'm a full timer 14 years and I'm actually getting ready to become a renter August 1st in California and then I will be a part-timer again I have some adjusting to do oh and the place is pet friendly we have a lot of trails up here by the PCT that are all pet friendly❤ with doggie bags provided I'm enjoying the history along the way by you and a couple other UA-camrs thank you Carolyn stay cool as much as you possibly can and stay healthy along the way❤ God bless

While as a small child I do (almost) remember a summer vacation with my parents to the Five Finger Lake Region. I remember: the beauty of all the shades of green, the breeze on the lakeshore, splashing around in the water, I remember: the drive from Toronto, Ontario and going over (seemingly) huge iron bridges that made our tires 'humm'. I remember: throwing a pair of my running shoes out the window along the highway (why?) Thank you, Carolyn. It's was all many decades ago but your video has brought me back these childhood memories. x0x0x0

So now your darn fridge does not want to switch over to electric! I wonder if you did a manual switch from propane if it would work, but if it did you would have to manually switch it back to propane after running on electric. I hope that all is good for you and Sadie!

I live in Rochester NY. Western NY has 20% of the he worlds fresh water. As the years pass this will become very important. Out water. Ills are cheap now and have been. More people from NYC have relocated or have bought homes for another time since they have discovered the beauty of this part of the state. I’ve lived in. many states and the only thing I really miss is the Atlantic Ocean.
Home prices have soared something that had never happened before and I’m 70. I think they are still reasonable considering I have children in Chicago and Atlanta. Our weather has gotten very hot our winters are barely anything compared to when I was younger. We don’t get a lot of sun. Sadly. I’ll take it here from now on. Please do visit.

In Oregon you can’t own waterfront. You can own up to the high water mark but the waterways and access are all public. That includes rivers, lakes, and beaches. Recently an HOA for homes on a lake here in Oregon was sued because they didn’t provide acceptable access to the lake for the general public. They had to build a dock and bathrooms lol! And you can walk the entire coastline in Oregon and not come across any fences proclaiming it private property. Should be the law in every state!

I think that there is a “ lining up” mentality.

Ah I see Chimney Bluffs in your preview! You are so in my neck of the woods. When I was a kid we used to go to Taughanock Falls all the time and we would hike up the creek to the waterfall. There is Buttermilk Falls and Canandaigua Lake that are gorgeous. Green Lake but not dog friendly. I am heading to Dansville NY to camp at a private camp ground with 7 waterfalls and the water temp is COLD! This summer in NY it has been like Florida weather. Hot and humid. Its ok if you can be in the water or if you have AC. Sonyea National Forest is free camping and Sugar Hill is also free. Lots of beautiful waterfalls in NY.

For groceries, you could get a little $20 cooler and one of those refreezable blue blocks for veggies (like carrots) to have more storage while also keeping enough air circulation in fridge. One thing I recently discovered is those caps you can put on canning jars and use food saver to suck the air out. It's amazing how long stuff lasts when you use that! I just use what I need and redo it. I don't like using the bags and the waste, so the jars have been lovely.

I would do that in hopes that your rv would provide shade for my car in the afternoon if parked in the right direction! I certainly wouldn't do it if it were overnight though!

So here’s my theory about the little red car that parked right next to you at the Harriet Tubman place: she pulls in she looks around. She sees one vehicle in the lot yours, and thinks I don’t know where I’m supposed to park. But maybe that person knows more than I do.so I’ll just go park next to them.

I do something like your dessert. I slice my banana, put it on a tray, melt some dark chocolate chips, and drizzle it on my bananas. Put in my freezer for about 10 mins. Yum! Or I dip my bananas in peanut butter and drizzle chocolate...

I am with u about people parking so close, it's annoying. Because ur home vehicle is big maybe that car is using ur house as a shade.

Awesome video! The history is incredible. And yes, we can't keep fresh veggies fresh long when the humidity is high either!

Thank You for showing us all this history about Harriett Tubman and the pretty old houses. Harriett sure was ahead of her time. Amazing how she was making homes for elderly.
It’s okay that you were unable to show us the women’s suffrage sights, it’s still appreciated all the other things you took us along to see. 🤗🤗
My daughter went to U.C. Berkeley just like you. She then left to get her doctorate in Chicago. And she said her food wouldn’t last as long. She had lived in CA her whole life and had a hard time getting used to the humidity in Chicago. It took her about two years to get used to it . She would get dehydrated because she wasn’t used to all that humidity. But she loved Chicago but was happy to come back to CA after lol.

We stumbled on Harriet Tubman’s house too last year. We got lucky and joined a tour last minute. The museum was good too.

Love the parking situation. They are using your rv as a blind to hide behind. Love upstate. My old stomping grounds. Enjoy.

I was just at Westcott SP NY and had to show my dogs rabies cert as well; swimming was allowed life guards in place etc. I let my dog in twice but honestly was nervous so I didn't let him in anymore I would rather come home and let him go into the ocean.

Harriet Tubman home is worth the trip to Auburn---also Willard Memorial Chapel designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
