K so I’m playing through FFX currently on the PS2. I recently learned about the (tattoo system they were goona use before they scrapped it. I think Auron was gonna have tattoo space on his exposed arm.
On the topic of Auron’s appearance, I always thought it was interesting because he looks a hell of a lot older than 35. I feel like if he HADN’T changed his appearance it would have been less shocking. A lot of people in their mid thirties don’t look THAT much different from their mid to late twenties, and I feel like he would have changed enough to avoid arousing suspicion simply through the presence of his scars, which would have made him look more grizzled anyway. I think what’s happened here, lore wise, is that Auron’s appearance is a reflection of his internal state. He had endured enough trauma by the time he was 25 to fill a whole life. He’s weary, his soul is burdened, and his heart is filled with regrets. He only endures because of his devotion to his friends who he couldn’t save. Maybe it was intentional on his part, but my theory is that his much older appearance is more the result of the pyreflies reacting to how he feels about himself, rather than him consciously trying to project an image. Pyreflies are sensitive to thoughts, feelings, and intentions, and much like water they can store or take on the shape of these things themselves. That’s my headcanon, anyway. Great video!
Ffx is the ff game that really got me into the series so ive always had a soft spot for it. The cut scenes felt way beyond their time. The music. Characters. Etc... anima though is pure nightmare fule. The fact that it drags u to hell and then proceeds to beat u up with its ass mouth and bottom hands is crazy. Also wakka being bender is the icing on the cake. Blitzball is also my fav mini game in any ff game. Heres hoping after 7 part 3 is done that we get a x remake which has a whole story line where we play as jecht braska and auron younger. Imagine using the remake/ rebirth game style but playing as jecht auron and braska. That would be epic. Ok nostalgia rant over lol
2026: FFX Rebirth (ends at Wedding crash scene) 2027: FFX Return (Continuation of FFX but with frequent flashbacks where you play as Jecht, Braska, etc during the storyline) 2028: FFX-2 Remake (Completely new story for FFX-2) 229: FFX-3
I dont see the point in remaking 10. 7 has allowed them to flesh out the story and world in ways that they weren't able to on ps1, but I don't think X would be able to benefit much in that way. And while I get the appeal of seeing braskas pilgrimage on some level, it seems like a lot of it would just be a repeat of ffx itself. We already know all the important parts of their journey, and I just don't think a prequel would have much to flesh out beyond what we've already seen.
Its alright, has some interesting stuff in how they handle classes and limit breaks. Also get to see the world adjusting to no longer worrying about Sin
Wouldn’t Anima technically be the most powerful with Seymour? Not to say that she isn’t powerful alone, but that because she is Seymour’s that it would have that much more strength
in theory yes, but by this point the relationship between Seymour and his mother has strained, so no she wouldnt be stronger with him now. Think of Anima as a downgraded Final Aeon

Totally different game just in the same world with many repeat characters. I enjoyed the old school FF job system tho
