I love how they deliberately toned down the PS3 version's visuals.
Sockboy's eyes had the shine effect on both LBP1&2 and suddenly it's gone in 3. Which looks no different.
+JROKGaming i have the ps3 version and yeah it only looks minorly different. less flashy but that's it. the ballerina level looks better with that weird fog than without in my opinion.

Here's a little tip for you...
Human beings generally perceive the past as going off to the left and the future as going off to the right. It's basic stuff based on how we read, how we access our memories and it's also standard convention in art and film etc too. It's even how we play most games; going "forward" from left to right and "backward" from right to left.
If you have a video comparing an older version of a game to a newer version of a game side by side then you should have the older version of the game on the left side of the screen and the newer version on the right.
What you have is slightly awkward and uncomfortable to read visually based on centuries of human learning, teaching and experience.
Good point for most people it looks backwards, but it's the right way around if you natively speak Arabic.

I don't know what you're talking about man. One texture map is NOT an upgrade. I was looking foreward to this for the past 2 years! I'm so disappointed in the visuals. You can tell they went for Parity instead of Progress.

You know I miss the old days. If I went back in the past, I would grab my PS3, my Nintendo ds, and my psp. My PS3 I would always play lbp there and it was fun. My Nintendo didn't last long as I broke it when I was about 4 and my psp randomly turned white and the screen froze forever I still have it but I wonder if it still works. I miss the old days and this music brings back nostalgia
Not too much of a difference. Mild texture & lighting improvements ... but that's pretty much it. Doesn't justify spending another $600.00 for a new console.

RIP Little Big Planet 3, I love Sackboy: A Big Adventure and it's one of the best co-op platformers I've ever played, but I hope a Little Big Planet 4 comes out on PS5 someday.
With both versions locked to 30fps with drops, I can't see the differences between the PS3 and PS4 version being nothing more than splitting hairs.

This is the one game I would have to agree with you on. It's really sad that even Sony can stoop to Parity. What a joke. Make the game that people want to play, not the game that will make you more money. Capitalism... It's a great system, unless you're a species that runs on GREED.

PS4 has better lighting, FPS, and resolution. But there seems to be a graphical issue at 4:06 with that button.
Although the PS3 doesn't look to far behind graphics wise.
Saying all that, this game isn't really 'Wow Graphics' it's more 'Wow Gameplay'. xD

rslife I noticed the textures were much sharper in PS4 version, didn't really look at Stone that much.
This is a beta, so that graphical issue will probably be resolved for the day one patch that I'm sure the game will have.
That 'error' was a sticker I think.

I really don't know why they bothered supporting the PS3. That system has had its day now. This should be a PS4 exclusive to encourage more people to hurry up and upgrade.

Little Big Planet 3 started development specifically for PS3, now that they're developing it for PS4 too theres only so muh upgrading to be done since its the same engine as on PS3. Thats what happens with cross gen games

Only differences are the bump in texture resolution, higher anisotropic filtering, more steps for the motion blur and higher resolution for Ps4. Shadows resolution are the same, and every effect including depth of field are the same for both consoles. I'm getting the PS3 version.
also, on the hockey rink, the shading looked slightly different on the ps3 as the ambient occlusion is better

i have a ps4...it still doesnt feel like a significant jump to me, its A LITTLE bit smoother a LITTLE bit flashier but you dont notice it in game you have to stop and actually inspect things to see the difference
GheyForGames It was the same thing going from Xbox to Xbox 360 a first. At lot of the game the first year or so were just flashier PS2 and Xbox versions. It always gets better because developers will start pushing the new engines. Hell, most PS4 games are still being made on previous-gen engines so they can squeeze every last penny out of them... Mortal Kombat X for example, Unreal Engine 4 has been available to devs for about 3 years now, and it's still using Unreal 3.

one noticeable difference is that the worldwide reflections and the ambient occlusion look better on the PS4 version tough the PS3 version still looks the same but the ambient occlusion wnd the worlwide reflections is basically gone and there are some changes in lighting

These guys will damage control everything. There's very tiny differences here. People are looking for the PS4 edge. Very small difference. People will hate u for saying that, they get emotional to justify their purchase. Of course PS4 is more powerful (not the CPU though). But they get emotional as if someones's saying the systems isn't much more powerful because of this. This is just parity for both systems. Sheesh lol
Mark Dupree As a buyer of Ps4, I'd like to say that we're not all the Gamer/Resolutiongate assholes that the internet has started making us out to be. That said, I have to say I'm very disappointed to see Sony falling into the Parity problem as well. It's just money. They don't want Ps3 users to know their game is inferior, even thought the Ps3 is, by nature, an inferior system to the newer, more technoligically advanced Ps4. It's just hypocrisy and Capitalism.

I know this is a 5 year old comment but this got me thinking. You couldn't run this on a PS1 at all, but in theory, since PSP delivers near the same quality graphics as the PS2 did, a PS2 LBP would look like LBP PSP.

Jeez,I didnt know Bunkum went through so many changes!. Also in this build,the Popit Puzzles planet doesnt even exist and the store planet is to the left! JEEZ! The design of Bunkum is very similar to the design of Carnivalia from LBPV. In this build,its just a ball covered with a bedsheet,or just a pillow.

so basically they just made most textures 2x resolution and remade the character models with a higher poly count, and redone the shaders for the most part on PS4 (and completely changed most of Sackboy's textures)

I went into a GAME store in the UK, tried to pre-order this game and the till operator told me that it was a PS4 exclusive. I told him it wasn't. He told me that the game's graphics were too powerful for the PS3.

No. The PS4 is barely as powerful as a PC and most games do not run at either 60fps or at 1080p as intended. The same was true of the PS3, it didn't run as promised either. They're both underpowered and watered-down, technologically obsolete as soon as they hit the shelves due to the fact that there's bigger graphics cards and bigger GPU's and many of the RAM's and lots of other stuff I'm not going to pretend to understand the workings of. If you have a problem with that, take it up with the hordes of people designing home computers.
This is a game in which you tie some fucking string onto some fucking sponge or making a fucking car out a rocket and a cardboard tube. If you seriously give a shit about the graphics of the game, this game is pretty damn wasted on you anyway.

1080p DOES make a difference. Turn this video resolution up and look carefully at 1:50. Sackboy really does look like look like he's made of sack on the left hand side. On the right hand side he looks like he's made of poo.

One of the first ever LittleBigPlanet videos I have ever watched.... I remember watching this over and over on my Wii U Gamepad, and I really wanted LittleBigPlanet 3 for my PS4, at least I got my wishes granted in Febuary of 2017! LBP2 is better tho

With the gold tip hdmi cable the ps3 graphics look just as good as ps4 graphics. I only really notice a small difference with ps4 exclusives. Really just small details like raindrops on street lamps and sweat on sports games are more detailed but nothing huge like comparing ps2 and ps3.

Sadly there's only 4 worlds this time with 5 levels each so 20 levels, however there are also 2 worlds of popit puzzles (Basically create tutorials) and there's also a bunch of challenge levels so If you're willing to do it all there's a bunch of content :)

I know right,I can't wait.I love playing LBP and I'm 15 but I hate it when I ask the age of someone I've been playing with and they say 6 and I feel I just wasted my time.I love this game but I just hate the babies on this game ruining it,I know it's a kids game but it's the adults that make the decent levels here,the babies just make deformed blocks.I love creative games and many older people like this game for creativity rather than just killing people all the time like on GTA online which I like to play as well.On LBP there's just so much more to do.Im most exited about the requirement of PS plus filtering out most of the little kids to LBP 2,most of them probably don't have a ps4.It will also filter out some poor nasty people as well.It will make the LBP world a more nicer and mature place for proper gamers instead of babies playing with bricks.
Well, don't forget the shitty spoiled kids who can afford PS+. Squeakers will always be there, whatever the game you play.

It's a cross-gen game optimized for both PS3 and PS4 because the developers want everyone to enjoy the game. I don't have any problem with not having awesome-looking graphics as long as I can play with my friends who only have PS3.

This console has got to last the coming upgrades in technology of the next decade, its hard to see now on graphic videos the real difference bewteen ps3 and ps4 because ps3 is at its peak, but in 5 years time the power of the engines that games run on will be so superioir to those that ps3 was built for in 2006.
Only difference I can truly see is the eye shine
I remember the day my dad gave me little big planet 2 so i decided to get little big planet 3 bc little big planet was my childhood and it was great!
I see little difference except a few lighting issues that could be fixed by simply moving the light.
Anyone else think that oddsock, toggle etc ruined lbp3? I think it would of been better with just the legendary sack

A similar thing happened with my Xbox 360
I had alot of digitally bought games on it, and a long-winding history with it
And then my mother decided it would be funny to trade it for an Xbox One
Which is currently just sitting in the living room, my Xbox One account not having been logged into for around a year now
Because there are no worthy games on it (Except for Sunset Overdrive, that game is totally wicked!)
My little siblings play on it, but i prefer to keep playing on my PC til a console worthy of my time is brought into the living room
The days of PS3 and Xbox 360 were truly the golden age of console gaming...
Such a shame their future is just watered down wannabe consoles...

Unfortunately I don't have too much money so I'm not going to spend 400€ to get 3D-stitches for sackboy. And I'm very grateful you still support PS3 players! ( Ps. I like the ps3 grass more than ps4 3:40 )
there is very small different bettween the graphic since you play LBP not other games
so basically it’s brighter with a few more polygons and clearer textures.
I can make 3d levels now? Damn that's freaking awesome!

The resolution is the biggest difference honestly
However it was not really noticeable

I have a PS3 and PS4. I have LBP3 for the PS4, but having it for the PS3 would be awesome.

Well at least we got to have levels created on the ps4 on the ps3 and ps3 levels on ps4, both versions get everything except playing together and the ps4 has a trailer for levels
