I think the more complex nature of Spacehey is a positive in my eyes, as it’s essentially a filter for those barely know how the internet works (children or adults) or even those who just want another constant information feed. Additionally, HTML and CSS has evolved from the early to late 2000s. Many interface additions can be added as time goes on or added by the user themselves, and plenty of the old scripts that would lead to harm are flagged and wiped from the editor the moment you try to save any of it to your profile.

@@unicodefox Any decent Web developer at the time wouldn't have made a site entirely reliant on Flash. I know this sounds crazy, but not everyone had Flash installed. It wasn't always built into the browser, and it's pretty clear why THAT practice ended. There're far too many "Web developers" who don't know how to code, and they don't understand the full degree to which half-assing Web development can be really, really dangerous.
NOOO! Anthony... You are a "jifer"
Why... Why have you done this?
I am still waiting for a open-source social media platform with a modern interface without any algorithm or news feed to become mainstream so that I can add just my close friends and hang out with them and see their regular life. Mastodon is really close but it's still kinda a place for nerds only. This has potential but it's too outdated looking. Which is nostalgic but will prevent it from mass adoption cuz people like nice looking sites more :(
I think the more complex nature of Spacehey is a positive in my eyes, as it’s essentially a filter for those barely know how the internet works (children or adults) or even those who just want another constant information feed.
Additionally, HTML and CSS has evolved from the early to late 2000s. Many interface additions can be added as time goes on or added by the user themselves, and plenty of the old scripts that would lead to harm are flagged and wiped from the editor the moment you try to save any of it to your profile.
I miss MySpace
Facebook was a mental drain for me. Deleting it was the best decision. Highly recommend for anyone finding themselves feeling depressed with the endless scrolling.
I remember reading a comment that was like “They should make it so When someone visits your Twitter page, your favorite songs play”
When he was a young boy
Anthony
Wanted to get onto myspace
so he learned HTML
Well, if you wanted honesty
That's all you had to say
I never want to let you down
Or have you go, it's better off this way
For all the dirty looks
The photographs your boyfriend took
Remember when you broke your foot
From jumping out the second floor?
I'm not okay
I'm not okay
I'm not okay
You wear me out
What will it take to show you
That it's not the life it seems? (I'm not okay)
I've told you time and time again
You sing the words but don't know what it means (I'm not okay)
To be a joke and look
Another line without a hook
I held you close as we both shook
For the last time, take a good hard look
I'm not okay
I'm not okay
I'm not okay
You wear me out
Forget about the dirty looks
The photographs your boyfriend took
You said you read me like a book
But the pages all are torn and frayed
I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay now (I'm okay, now)
But you really need to listen to me
Because I'm telling you the truth
I mean this, I'm okay! (Trust me)
I'm not okay
I'm not okay
Well, I'm not okay, I'm not o-fucking-kay
I'm not okay
I'm not okay
Great lyrics! Which song?
I believe this might be a major comeback from MySpace whoah
YOU'LL NEVER MAKE ME LEAVE, I WEAR THIS ON MY SLEEVE...
Anthony is my spirit animal.
Ahh, my myspace page was such a troll page. Sexy profile pic, sexy background pic, and then the music loaded in and you got blasted by metal. Really helped to weed out the weaker suitors. One guy persisted though, and eventually I deemed him worthy of a weeknight group date because I wasn't really all that interested. 13 years later, we've been married for a decade. He ended up being more interesting than his profile page suggested!
.... I'm glad MCR got a shout out. I hope some of you are actually fans and that wasn't a sarcastic joke.
What puts me off Facebook is nearly everything is linked to it and its so diverse its just loaded with materialistic influencers and what not.
MySpace in 2021?
That's so Meta.
Bring back Geocities with handcoded HTML in Notepad! Which cutting-edge unequally-supported HTML features to use? Did you support IE? Navigator? Did you use the blink tag? ROFL Ah, those were the days. MyFace and SpaceBook. Meh. Those were for wimps.
neocities exists
Favourite MCR song? I do love Helena, that's a banger.
fuck yea lmao, i personally really like the sharpest lives
Ngl i might hop onto this one
No algorithms targeting you sound sick
Thankfully I deleted my Facebook account some 6 years ago now ...I honestly haven't missed it at all..this whole ' showing everybody what you've got or done' thing seems so crass and self engrandising I hate it . I was in my early twenties when MySpace was at it's peak I'm sure it'd have gone the same direction as Facebook if it'd survived at any good level of popularity.
Ahhhh so it was your actual profile, thats awesome
Great for Millennials like myself who enjoyed using Myspace and always hated Facebook! 😎
We had Tom Anderson, now we have Zuck.
Tom was everyone's friend
can custom html be less exploitable if the renderer is sandboxed? with a view model
Say no to social media, ask for a number not a social
And talk to them that way.
About time. It's all we ever needed.
