I’m 38 and I still have no idea how this game is played. I don’t even understand after reading the instructions. I barely understand even after watching this video.
WOW! You're right. Good catch! He also screwed up on the reentry. He wouldn't be able to reenter the board by rolling a two, because the two spot was blocked by the opponent's pieces. This game has too many weird rules.
This leaves out a key point. I remember you need to roll a certain number to be able to put your piece back onto the board. In his example he rolled a two, so I don't think he's able to get back on the board because the two spot was blocked by the opponent's pieces. But then I also remembered there was one exception where you could move into any slot you want after getting knocked out. Also, if if you have all your pieces at the end of the board or next to eachother, you can move them off the board in order starting with the furthest piece no matter what number you roll. I was gonna buy a set, but IDK if I will now. It's so much easier online with the computer showing you where you can and can't move. This game is too complex for real life, because there are too many exceptions to the rules.
"In his example he rolled a two, so I don't think he's able to get back on the board because the two spot was blocked by the opponent's pieces." - correct, it was inaccuracy of the video. You should be able to see second dice on screen with 1 on it. "But then I also remembered there was one exception where you could move into any slot you want after getting knocked out." - never heard about it, I do not think such rule exists. "Also, if if you have all your pieces at the end of the board or next to eachother, you can move them off the board in order starting with the furthest piece no matter what number you roll" - not actually. Rule 1: To start bearing off the pieces you need to have them all at home (last 6 fields). Rule 2: For example if you have 2 pieces (6-away and 3-away) and you toss 4, you need to move forward the 6-away piece to utilize 4 pips (move points) completely. If you toss 3, you may either bear-off the one 3-away or move forward the one 6-away. Your choice. If you have only 1 piece 3-away, than you can bear-off if you toss 3 or more (no option to utilize extra pip-move)
hi, I disagree, it is no better, no worse, it is different and this is the beauty of this. Similiarily like checkers or go/baduk. Someone may prefer one over the another, but both are amazing. . In chess there is no randomness involved, while in backgammon there is randomness factor, that is cancelling out in the long run. If you play 100 chess matches against grandmaster (assuming, that you are not the one), the expected result will be 100:0. In backgammon it will be most likely 75:25, as each game is a mix of luck (roll dices) and skill (decide on a move). If you play matches, when you also use doubling dice (not explained in this video) the luck factor is impaired even further. When playing a match against grandmaster you may luckily win a game, but you will rather not win the match.
Watched this thing 7 times, still have no idea what’ to do
I've had my chess board that can be used for backgammon for ten years and I've only decided to learn it today lmao
Finally, someone who explains it properly.
YESSS!!!
Suprised it was Wikihow given their... More odd tutorials
No they didn't. They left out several key points
Ever since I was a child on my dad's Nokia phone I wondered how this game worked
And now I still dont
I watched 5 other videos and just didn't get this. Watched this video and finally clicked. Awesome job
Played this games thousands times, I forgot how to say. Thank you it all came back lol
I love this game. I just needed a refresher. Thanks for the video
This seems a lot easier than it looked
I still don’t understand
What a weird game
The best tutorial I've heard yet.Now I can start to play.
Well i guess this game would forever be the game on the backside of my chest board
Ill just stick with snakes and ladders😬😅
This is as almost confusing as Scribblers 8 lol
@@pigeonbass11 😂

This video is ok, but has one example that is incorrect. If you role a 1 and a 2, you cannot move 3 if both the 1 and 2 spots are blocked.
😆 If someone said this while we were playing, I would walk away from the table. 😆😁
...... I watch it multiple times... I just chuck the game set out of existence
My little sister want to play but
We playing checker now
This is how you explain a game to new players. Thank you so much!
Good and concise explanation. Thank you!
That actually makes a bit more sense now. Thank you!
I finally understand how to play this game!
I learned how to play it when I was a kid. Its pretty fun. 🙂
Jamie Cee49 same, just that i'm still a kid
@@ilost4727 yeah i learned it too and im ten
Good explanation, finally grasped what the other videos had gabbled.
Got lost once the dice got involved
Great, now I have to send this vid to my friend and we can play together.
Wouldn't the move shown at 2:33 be illegal since the checker would have to pause between the two or one?
Yeah that's what I was thinking, I think it would be illegal

Yes, you can't do that. He could've done that move if he rolled a plain 3

I don’t get it Ive watched this 10 Times and still did not get it
Best explanation. Thank you!
I’ve just watched two videos to learn backgammon but I find the instructions spoken too fast and I simply don’t get it.
THANK YOU
This video is Pi minutes long
Thanks
Ludo maybe played like this in some other universe
:,)
I understand.
Thank you ....what animation program was used for this tutorial?? do you have a wikiHow on this program ...Thanks
So you can start wherever you want to
Chess is better in my opinion, but nice explanation!

There both great games I also play chess
This How-to is not confusing. Watch other vids and all of them were confusing.
Ok.... my board does not match their board. My colors are different...
Ok the first board shown was wrong. The next was ok.
I can play now 😃
Still don't get it
The illustration is wrong . The spikes or whatever they are called are colored wrong
I don’t get it
what did he say
I don't understand with help of this video
This game don't make no sense
The first part of this video shows the wrong colours on the right hand side, the bottom rightmost triangle is black instead of white!
difficult to understand
Kinda confusing
I only have 2 dice
What?
I wanted to learn to play but it’s not worth all this
lol
I agree. This game has too many rules. It's much easier to play online where you have the computer showing you where you can and can't move.
lol
So roll the dice and get your pieces off the board? not exactly a game of skill, is this a good game? I can't even tell.
That was not good from a technical standpoint.
