@zeroknight55 I've been a Doctor Who fan for 30 years - it was a real pleasure to speak with Matt Smith. This production of Doctor Who has considerably more funding than any previous production and the story for this season opener is quite excellent.
@dwtrumble many thanks for this information - truly a great production team at work on this series! I'm very much looking forward to tonight's broadcast.
I really wish more Americans would watch Doctor Who. It's a brilliant show, and I just feel like if it were able to branch out more into the U.S., the budget would increase and it would just get more amazing (visually). Also, Matt Smith is awesome as the Doctor. I'll admit, I had my doubts, but he blew those out of the water. Him and Karen are a dynamic duo :D
"Look at me, I'm a target!" Matt is great. He won me over in the first episode. The Doctop could be involved in the War of 1812. Maybe he is how Canada wasn't wipped out even though Canada was out numbered 10 to 1.
i live in new york and i love doctor who ive been a loyal viewer of the show and i agree i wish more people here in America would watch the show, there only a few people i know who watch it, sad.
It should be a requirement for all actors who play doctors to wear one piece of their costume at all time whilst under contract, even when they're not working. Matt smith could definitely rock the fez day or night.
He basically is the Doctor, as in his real personality is pretty much as the same as the one he made for his character. Not that its a bad thing, but it almost feels like the Doctor is playing Matt Smith.
I'd heard of Dr. Who from friends but the only reason I started watching it was because I'd seen Matt Smith in a couple of BBC movies with Billie Piper. I really enjoy the show with Matt but I don't know if I'll continue watching it when he leaves.
@xninjajjx Well, it was the same with Tom Baker. The fourth doctor was basically a slightly exaggerated version of himself. When playing the doctor, it helps to have an eccentric personality.
Yea yea yea. lol! I love Matt Smith. I wanna be him for Halloween, but here in California, nobody would get it. Oh well. I kind of like that not too many people here watch it. It would get all hyped up, and people might ruin it. I do hope he comes to San Fran. for one episode. I would go see him!
@jenna158 XD me too, I'd be all: "*10 minutes of awkward silence* SO! You're the doctor!" and he'd be like: "Yes. I'm quite sure we covered this... twice."
@zeroknight55 I'd love to watch more of it, too! I am without BBC America, so I have to wait for Amazon Video on Demand. And the holiday weekends -- no Doctor. He had me when he licked the shed! Ah, that's my manic, nutty Doctor. Love him!
@zeroknight55 I'm in America and I've watched it since the 2005 reboot! and its done nothing but get better and better! and too true about Matt there as well :)
@doctorw2 I'm pretty sure that's been confirmed as a false rumor actually. He's said so himself he plans to play the Doctor for as long as he can, as he loves the part.
@TheDoctorWhoNerd it was a real privilege to speak with him - very down to earth guy, he made it easy, thank you for your support.
I didn't become hooked on "Who" before Matt and now I'm open to every aspect of the show... Smith was the key. Bless him!
He seems really relaxed right now, on behind the scenes, he's as crazy as the doctor, so I see how he got the part
"yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah."
i love matt smith.
He's the youngest Doctor Who yet amazing.
he is just too cute! he plays the role amazingly & seems like a really cool guy
He's just so damn adorable. He always has a dolphin-ish like grin on his cute face. xD

God, this show is so addictive. I've seen every episode from seasons 1-5 of the new series, and I only started watching a few months ago!
I can't stop thinking about him lol
He seems like a total sweetheart.
I live in America and I found this show by chance on BBC America its my favorite show now. I love it!

@carolynoify I agree with you totally about this! It's the perfect break from American TV
@doctorw2 I'm pretty sure that's been confirmed as a false rumor actually. He's said so himself he plans to play the Doctor for as long as he can, as he loves the part.
Mom: What are you doing?
Me: Sexy...Matt....Matt...Sexy... *drools*

@KatnissGranger Technically, he already had one. Jack, remember?
@zeroknight55 Definitely loving Doctor Who over in America! :] My friends and are followers for sure!
Hey, did he look nervous to ya'll?
@djtomdog you disgust me, you really do. You disgust me so much I want to get mad at you. But Matt Smith is AWESOME!!!!! Go Matt Smith! Go Matt Smith!
Dr Who is a perfect example of great television sponsored by taxpayer funded creativity.
I think the doctor needs an American companion
@zeroknight55 I'm American, and I'm OBSESSED. ;D
weird hand thing at the beginning
Haha, Matt says Muffat, instead of Moffat. I heard it in a different video
aswell
He looks half asleep. I don't blame him, lol...
Doctor Who number 11... No no no no. He's the 11th Doctor. Doctor Who is not his name!!! it's just "The Doctor."
Lovely faaaaaace

Haha, press 5.
@Falcor43 Bill Nighy.

The shows been steadily gaining popularity in the U.S. I just hope to god, we don't try to make an American version.
