Thank you for being so candid! Too many people keep the kiddy gloves on for health issues. You're inspiring lots of women (and men) to take better care of their health! No one else could have made a video like this and still come off as poised and beautiful. Well done!
@Ben Dover More than likely because a lot of girls/woman (just like us bloody idiot men) don't get shit checked when they should. Influencers like Janet tend to do what it says on the tin, and influence young women especially.
Videos like this are just one more reason I love your content. Your music is amazing, your voice is out of this world, and your honesty is refreshing. I think it's so important to educate the public about issues like this and the importance of getting them checked out. You do an amazing job of being open in all aspects of your life and I respect that a lot. Hope you are healing up well and can't wait to see you singing again!
Can I just say, as a fairly anxious and nervous 21 year old, this made me laugh and feel a bit more relaxed knowing that someone out there also kinda feels really awkward about these subjects and uses the best words to describe all this. Thank you for being so open about your experience and not making a big deal out of it - So many people either say “no no you can’t share such things publicly don’t talk about it” or yell it way too loud. You’re a great lass!
It's weard that I initially thought that this is oversharing. Having two daughters puts thing in perspective! I admire women that are conscious about themselves, wishing men could take the hint! 💗💖
You are one brave young woman. Doctors scare the ... out of me and I procrastrinate seeing them whenever I can. So... cudos! Well done, take good care of your health. We count on you being around for a very long time, so we can listen to you.
As someone who has gone through serious depression, I thank you for your efforts in destigmatizing mental health issues. You've won me as a fan for life.
made it because you're one of my favouritest people, and sometimes I worry about you. Now that I know, I am relieved, and happy that you are so open and honest, even when it is embarrassing. You're a good sort, for helping break down stigma and shame.
Sharing yer problems with the doc is brave,.. sharing it with all of yer fans, bloody outstanding! And yes, you're right, too many people (both ladies and gents) often leave leave problems with their intimate bits too long and pay a hefty price. Good for you girl,.. Awesome!
I think most people always feel awkward and embarrassed talking about there private parts! But you can never be to careful about your health. I`m so pleased you went to the doctor`s and got sorted out Janet! Making the video as well, i think was so important for other people to watch and understand about things. Hope your feeling a little better today, and that your taking things easy! Hopefully see you next week at the Stageit shows! 💖💖
Well done. It's extremely important to take care of these things. Always make sure. Hope you feel better soon and thank you for making this video to remove the stigma of getting help. ❤
One of the things I love about you, is your ability to talk openly about stuff like this. Mental/physical health, should not be tabu and nothing to be ashamed of. We all have shite to deal with, so no reason to hide it, just to seem like we're perfect. I know I have my own hell to go through, with mental health (Schizotypical personality disorder) and had to go through surgery when I was young, to get me balls to drop. YAY, fun times, hehe. Having problems and accepting them, makes you a better person, capable of humility and empathy.
Hey, good on you for sharing this. Since you shared your age, I'll share mine - 56 male. My wife had something like this going a few years back.... Very fortunate that we did. That you are so uncomfortable yet shared anyway - you've probably saved a few girls' lives..... I know its gotta be crazy uncomfortable... After all... you're sharing with a 56 year old guy that you don't even know. Congrats on overcoming your fear... and count on the fact that you've helped other girls to be more forthright with their PCPs. Thanks.
You are so Mesmerising. I see the world as a place of darkness and pain, but now and than I see a small but bright shining light like you in all of that. It gives me hope, even tho hope is the thing that lures me into the pain over and over. I really hope your reality is diffrent from mine.
I had a "polyp" removed from my cervix & I don't know how they did it, but it was really similar to your experience I think. Thank you for talking about this ❤️
I really like your personality, it might be a weird video to say it on but I came for the music and stayed because of your personality, love your content
Can’t believe the smear test is at 25 years of age in the UK....here in Australia it is as soon as you are sexually active .....or have any weird symptoms .....glad you have shared this, the more people know about their sexual health the better.
I am so glad you were so frank about health issues. Most people aren't brave as you are. Hope you the best. I love your music! Please come to New Orleans in America!
Wow I'm usually against young people like Molly, discussing sex and body parts , but you have shown a very responsible way of discussing these things I am proud to be a fan, God has blessed with you , you may have saved lives with all you spoke about this video!
Glad it turned out to be something pretty minor. I've had family member go for her smear and had pre-cancerous cells detected and had that dealt with pretty easily, a lot better than not being seen and things being a lot worse. Take care, hope you're feeling better now x
Having worked as a surgical nurse for 15 years. Cancer is scarier, than having to deal with words like vagina, penis, rectum, and breast. Self examination is more important (For Women) and open discussion during consultations with your physician is a life savior. For the Men that are seeing this after age 45. Get those prostate exams and testicles checked by your doctor. Waiting for your next Stageit.
I'd hate to be a scottish woman on the internet because of you people. It's like seeing *any* american woman and saying "wow it's rachel from friends".
A whole new wooooorld, don't you dare close your eyes! A new fantastic point of view! I'm actually reluctant to sing the next two lines. Did they see your bobs too? Did you lift shirt? I'm just trying to use humour to make things less awkward. Is it working? I'm so glad you're ok, J. That was actually a really interesting vid. These things are important, and you talked about it in such a natural way. I wish it were that simple for most people. Well done, you. 🙏
Ms. Devlin i just wanted to thank you for making this video because i had my daughter watch it. she has been having a bit of a problem with her "Bits" but was shy about talking to her doctor after the video she made an appointment and had things checked out everything is fine she a minor thing but better safe then sorry right. ohh and just so ya know im a single daddy and my daughter is 15 so yeah talking to her about these things is a bit awkward sometimes and having someone she admires talking about such things makes it much much easier for me and her to get thru it so Thank you again, god bless and take special care of you.
I'm not a proud owner of a vagina but your positive attitude and courage is truly inspirational. You're probably saving lives because of this and your mental health videos. Thank you!
Fair play Janet, massive respect for talking about such a tough subject. 100% agree, we need to normalise stuff like this. I really hope the pain in that area subsides quickly & that you’re back to your normal self very soon. Much love 🙏🏼🤗☺️ x
Please make a video about podcasts. I listen to podcasts 8 hours a day at work, and I don't think I'd be able to handle my job without one. Finding a new interesting podcast is the best thing ever.
This video was far more entertaining than I anticipated! Glad you're doing okay Janet, and surviving in the world where doctors sometimes have to examine your junk (I had to have bladder surgery myself, so I am intimately familiar with this discomfort!) :P And good on you for getting into some of the less glamorous details of the experience - I think it really does help lift the stigma around talking about our "private parts" - their health is just as important as the rest of us, even if it can be embarrassing to talk to someone about!
Thank you for sharing and normalising womens health (and men’s) I lost a school friend to cervical cancer, she was only 24. In Australia we have smear tests from the time you are sexually active not a specific age but many young people choose not to have them because of embarrassment. I tell young girls you will have every man and his dog looking and poking there if you get cancer. Hope you and your vag are feeling better soon xx
Although not the same thing, Endometriosis - my lady got it bad which gives the same symptoms but can take many years to diagnose, she's now had an hysterectomy and suffered years of extreme pain prior, trust me, as you get older you lose your nerves about them parts and treat them like a normal part of your body that your doctor inspects. My Lady now has M.E. and lost everything, house, Job, dignity and social interactions, and the NHS is that bad that once diagnosed there is no help, she has to go to charity and put her limited money in herself for any kind of help. I sympathise fully with your situation and your message is appreciated about dropping your guard when regarding your private bits.
God bless you young lady In my prayers as a male fan a little TMI but you need to take care of all body parts including your hoohaa I wish you the best.
Thanks, Janet for taking care of yourself! It is very important that we all see a doctor if we can. The world will be a sadder place without you in it!
Inner voice don't say that the nhs was at your cervix don't say it So brave you are and to share your story is inspirational people need to get checked if they feel something wrong We need to normalize discussions like this to help save many many people I myself had a c word scare early this year it scared me and broke me badly luckily it's was just a scare Sending love and hope you feel better soon ❤
Hi beautiful, I'm really sorry for your experience but you are absolutley amazing for sharing this video and I applaud you for this. It is important and it's great that you made it so comfortable and funny even though you're uncomfortable with being that personal and upfront about it. You're an amazing person and I look forward to seeing your vids. Thank you for being you and don't ever change. 🤗 Toledo, Ohio U.S.
What a change in your mood from before and after the procedure! - That's what PAIN 💥 does; it drains you of all your ENERGY! 😢 I'm posting this on June 03, 2019, so hopefully you are well on your way to mending! 👍🏻😃
Hey, taking care of one's self should always be perfectly acceptable. I always just wish people the best and check back in with them later to see how they're doing. Friends, family, whoever, we are all human and only have the one life and need to make it as good as possible, especially in regard to health, mental, emotional, physical, or even otherwise.
Literally just been through this myself, had a colposcopy yesterday and waiting for the results and it's so good to see someone talking about it normally 😊
Firstly, I hope you are well and everything is fine. Thank you for taking the time to share this and trying to normalise health. It's important to let people know that if you feel something is wrong that you should go and get it checked out.
Awesome respect for you for opening up and articulating your experiences and journey. I hope this inspires courage and strength for the ladies who felt the same as you regardless of age. Before I close congrats on your success from 'Confessional'. Continue with being uniquely inspirational and down to earth for your fans. 👍
I came on here to say you are really brave sharing this. I went through something similar when I was mid 20s, regular smear test (which I had been getting since I was 17), picked something up so I had to go with the whole colposcopy thing and then after that having cells removed, I didn't have liquid nitrogen tho, I had a lletz done. Just make sure you keep getting checked up, I still have to go for more regular smears than most people due to that, but it's better to be careful than not! Much love to you tho
One one can EVER say Janet Devlin does not address difficult and hard to discuss topics, or she doesn't share details of her life with her fans. She's a special lady who deserves our support. I'd like to share something with all men out there...find a Dr. with skinny, short fingers, well trimmed nails.
Good on you Janet. I hope you're ok. And it is a positive end to the story, you went and put your big girl pants on and got your hoohar checked. Too many people dont.
When I read the title I curled up on the floor in a fetal position, but your humor and awesome outlook on life got me back up and moving. Take it easy and get well.
Sweet Janet in the states we have to go get a exam every year from the time we turn 18 till we go through menopause they must do things alot different in the uk! Glad your feeling better and got that all taken care of!
You have proven that you are one of the most adult young UA-camrs on the platform. Yes, I am an older guy here for your music and undeniable talent, but I also have daughters. You have just done a great public service.
Im so happy people are normalizing this stuff. In the US they want you to go in for a smear test at 21 or if your sexual active. As a teen girl who who is starting to get into long term relationships and love and all of the things that come with it everything is very intimidating. I have also had doctors traumatize me in the past within that area so i dont like doctors in and around that area. I also hate that kind of attention im the kinda person that just dose things on her own and doesnt want to be bothered and my mom wants to protect me and be in there with me and wants to know when i become sexual active its very uncomfortable for me. Anyway hope your doing good and your no longer in pain.
I'm one of those men that watch your videos and this one is going to get into my Grand Daughters messages . You are right and In glad you are brave enough to do this kind of video . PS: I'm 66 now and when I go talk to my Dr about the nether region stuff , its like - and so? - from the Dr . when you get old it don't matter I guess . ❤U !
I raised boys! My husband and I had a rule before we even had our babies! If they came out with a V, I took care of “talk” & if they came out with a P, he did. So, here are a few ones we used: what’s wrong/hurts son, your??? FRANK or BEANS? PILLAR or STONES? BACON or EGGS? TREE or ACORNS? Just to name a few! Great job Love! Get the message out there! ❤️😂👍🏼
I see a new Meme (or something like that) coming: "So, I put on my big boy pants...and took them off"👖. Genius😀 What you said about not being embarrassed to go see a doctor (or seek help in general when something is wrong) is absolutely right. Being sick or needing help should never be cause for embarrassment. Anyway, glad to see you seem to be recovering quickly. As we all know you, you'll be up to speed in no time.
God bless ya Janet. I can tell you its no nicer for us boys dealing with dangly bits. Its the most sensitive part of the body for either sex (outside of the bowel but thats a whole other conversation) Well done for being brave NEVER put off telling the doctor ALWAYS dig deep and get things checked. Brave girl great example! Get well kid! ❤️😎👊🏻 xx
At 20 I had a pap come back positive with stage 4 Dysplasia which is the worst stage before full fledged cervical cancer. The treatment was freezing my cervix with liquid nitrogen and boy was it painful but it obviously prevented cancer that could have killed me. Here in the United States a cervical pap smear was suggested at age 16. Being sexually active was not a criteria mentioned in the 70's. Take care!
I have to say, you have a great sense of humour hun!, lol! Well done for going and getting it checked. There are many who don't go through fear yet it's important to check as i can be something serious and if it is then it's always better to get it sorted out as soon as possible rather than later. Good to hear that it turned out not to be so serious and very brave of you for deciding to get it removed. I had a strange lump on my chest once that not only felt rather solid at the time but also hurt, much like a bruise. It freaked me out at the time but i decided to man up and get it checked. It turned out to be a swollen breastplate. Something both men and women have and of course, what causes women to in fact have breasts. I was hoping that i wasn't about to start growing them myself and lucky for me, not the case, lol! I was more concerned of cancer or something. The Doc explained it all to me and was very calm and reassuring. He said that it was nothing serious and should go in time but would give me medication to help it. He also explained that i could have it removed if i chose but wasn't necessary to do so. If i had it removed there might be a chance of me losing a nipple he went on. Well, i know i don't use them but still, didn't want to be left with just one, lol! Anyway, as told by the doctor, it did go in time and is all back to normal. I can understand the fears when it comes to these things and as i say, well done you for going. You'll be just fine with that procedure and something they know how to do without much trouble. I get that where it is can be a sensitive thing for you too as it's private to you and not something to easily let someone do what they need to do down there. I wish you luck, not that you will need it and look forward to hearing how it all went for you.
Glad everything went well, Janet. You made the right choice. You handled the video very well, I didn't feel embarrassed in the least (lol). And I'm sure it's not styled, but I love your hair at the end of the video...pulled back the way it is and all curly and wayward like....
That was an extremely brave and courageous vid. Everyone needs to get checked out at times or when something feels off. This was a vid every young woman needs to see so it saves them the idea of being the only one with those fears and embarrassment. Yes, I stuck around to the end. Thank you for posting this. (Why does that sound simply weird to say about this vid?)
If i had to pick someone to explain the coming Apocalypse to me, i would choose my favourite music-artist Janet, because i want to leave with a big smile .
Brilliant. Someone in a spotlight being open about body parts and sexuality. This allows others to go to the doctors. Good for you Janet
Thank you for being so candid! Too many people keep the kiddy gloves on for health issues. You're inspiring lots of women (and men) to take better care of their health! No one else could have made a video like this and still come off as poised and beautiful. Well done!

Nice to see you doing better already, I hope you have a speedy recovery
One one can EVER say Janet Devlin does not address difficult and hard to discuss topics, or she doesn't share details of her life with her fans. She's a special lady who deserves our support. I'd like to share something with all men out there...find a Dr. with skinny, short fingers, well trimmed nails.
Best to have it done and over with, take all the time you need to heal, it will be longer than you think.
Love and hugs from across the pond.
MarK Doherty thanks mark! ❤️
Good on you Janet. I hope you're ok.
And it is a positive end to the story, you went and put your big girl pants on and got your hoohar checked. Too many people dont.
Rest up Janet ,hope you feel better really soon .
Thanks Robert! ❤️
@@janetdevlin That's alright , big hug .

That was refreshingly funny. Keep on rolling through the world chica 🤙
When I read the title I curled up on the floor in a fetal position, but your humor and awesome outlook on life got me back up and moving. Take it easy and get well.
"Casually Bleeding" sounds like a cool song title 😂😂😂
for black metal for sure - good oldschool-black metal .
Someone wise once said sharing is caring... so you really do care! 😂Glad you're better now
thanks Daniel! ❤️
Who wouldn't be a little jumpy about someone looking up your foof? I think you are very brave to share this x
straight talking such a nice person
Hope you get well soon :) ....Here in Italy ... in my city ... we call it "Patatina" or "Gnocca" :)
MASTRO BOLLA thanks dear! Also interesting aha
I'm proud of her for being brave to share something that's personal
You are an amazing singer and such a beautiful person for sharing your personal life with others the good of all.
Totally off topic but Last Podcast on The left is amazing.
You and your Vadge have my support. Don't worry.
lol thanks
I had a couple of tears worrying about you. 😢 I'm glad you're okay.
Sweet Janet in the states we have to go get a exam every year from the time we turn 18 till we go through menopause they must do things alot different in the uk! Glad your feeling better and got that all taken care of!
What a grounded lady 😊
You have proven that you are one of the most adult young UA-camrs on the platform. Yes, I am an older guy here for your music and undeniable talent, but I also have daughters. You have just done a great public service.
Absolute beast.
The fact I’m more disturbed watching this video but absolutely fine watching Daz play a horror game says a lot 😂 I hope yo feeling better tho🤟🏼
yeah it's uber cringe aha Thanks dear! x
Actually they want you to have it within 2 yrs of getting your cycle.
Wait whaaa!??😲
(That was the reaction to the title).
that was my reaction when they told me!
Get well soon Janet Devlin ❤❤💋
I see a new Meme (or something like that) coming: "So, I put on my big boy pants...and took them off"👖. Genius😀
What you said about not being embarrassed to go see a doctor (or seek help in general when something is wrong) is absolutely right. Being sick or needing help should never be cause for embarrassment.
Anyway, glad to see you seem to be recovering quickly. As we all know you, you'll be up to speed in no time.
Mathias Fischbach I will be! Thanks so much lovely!❤️
❤️😎👊🏻 xx
Yes, let's hear more about the podcasts.
coming soon then 🙈
sorry for your troubles but looks like you made it thru , hopefully it all gets well an stays good , good luck janet
Take care!
I found this video very informative and a great learning experience for all of us. Thanks Janet!
Great video! I love that you can be so open and honest about your personal life with the intention of helping others. You have a great heart.
not for nothing, but you really have the most interesting videos ! Here's to a complete recovery !!!
Just love you for being that open about this topic! ❤
Why are you not in movies??
You are stunning!!!!
A Saoirse Ronan lookalike I think 😄
