The view of the cascade mountains while flying into Sea-Tac never ceases to impress. one of the best parts of coming home for me. western WA is stunningly beautiful if you can stand the rain. Alaska is even better.

Actually lightning tends to strike the same places more often than not. For example a large tree in a field may get struck a lot, but a random spot of grass is unlikely to get hit.

I've taken that same plane ride a few times. The mountain view is amazing there. Northern California too. A couple of rides it was too cloudy to see much of them but oh man, when it's mostly clear, beautiful view! Cheers, love your videos.

I'm from the Seattle area, and have traveled a lot, and have often said that flying into Seattle is one of the most beautiful places to fly into, weather cooperating, of course. The short flight from Bellingham to Seattle is so gorgeous, try to be on the West side of the plane, though, to see the Puget Sound, San Juan islands and Olympic Mountains.

Well, I imagine this wouldn't be very practical since it requires specific conditions for it to work, and lightning doesn't strike exactly where you want it to. Even then, I think the US military already has enough war machines and weapons, so they don't need this too. Although, it is admittedly a cool weapon concept.
Instead, it could potentially be used to generate electricity. I imagine they could setup lightning rods in the area, then trigger the lightning strike and somehow store its energy. I don't know how realistic this could be, but it's still a cool concept nonetheless.
