- Kewhira was written and composed by Mr Keduolhoulie Pienyü around 1955-60 when he left home to Shillong for further studies.
During his stay at Shillong, the thoughts of missing home and its people led him to write and compose this song.
Later, his friend Mr Niketu Iralu sang, upon hearing, Alan Thornhill, English Playwright and Author wrote the English verse.

I saw this poem titled 'Kewhira' on a book at DreamCafe around 2015-2016. It was so poetic and it has been on my mind ever since. No wonder it was a song! How beautiful the music & sound of the language. Kewhira!
