This is a vacuum that requires more maintenance than I'm willing to do - it looked like a great option but all that dust and dirt getting in the air would trigger my allergies. I have the Miele Compact C2 (SDCE0) and love the filtration I get plus no mess replacement of bags. I hope that Miele will incorporate these big wheels into canisters in the future - the little wheels on the C2 can be balky at times. Thank you for posting this excellent review!

I just bought a cx1 blizzard I’m no vacuum expert had a dyson dc50 before that. A lot of people here say bagged is Better ? But in which way ? Is it better suction or something? I’ve had zero issues with a bag less machine I clean with it and say maybe once a fortnight I empty the bin outside into the wheeling bin no mess or fuss so what’s the issue with my Miele I’ll maybe wash the internal filter once every 6 months That isn’t exactly constant maintenance. So is it because people are lazy and can’t be bothered to do extremely minimal maintenance or is it old habits im not sure plus surely bags are not great for the environment

Couldn't agree with you more. Bagless vacuums require too much cleaning and maintenance. Like a new car...they look nice in the showroom...but lose their luster when exposed to the elements. They become absolutely filthy with dirt and dust in a short period of time. Bags are inexpensive, last a long time, hold all the dust and dirt and don't require constant cleaning and maintenance. Simply replace the bag and filter from time to time and carry on with ease.

Excellent review as always. You should have worn a mask during this review given the amount of dust from the filters! Sadly most people seem to prefer the "grab & go" cordless and bagless vacuums these days with tiny bin capacity. Looking forward to your review of February's Felix pet as I have been considering buying this vacuum for sometime.

Miele Boost CX1 looks like something I would like (kind of). But when you showed the Sebo Felix I was like now we are talking. I have been using my Sebo Felix Eco Premium daily and it is fantastic. Mine is also same black color. I wish people would come to their senses and choose good quality bagged vacuum instead of any bagless vac. I bet many would be surprised. I have many bagless vacuums also, but only because I collect vacuums.

Great review Roger. Agree with you bagged vacuum cleaners are much better and cleaner to empty! Why Miele didn’t just stick to bagged machines like SEBO and Vorwerk!
I get some people prefer bagless from an environmental point as bags are not going into landfill which most of the HEPA style bags contain a form of plastic within the fabric of the bag but all that dust, pollutants your exposed to emptying bagless not good! People forget the microscopic dust you can’t see when emptying a bagless not to mention the high maintenance of them which a lot of owners fail to carry out regularly!
Great February choice the SEBO Felix Pet, love my Felix.

I agree with you 100%that bagged is best . I’d take the worst bagged over the best bag less vac. I have the Meile U1 (bagged) and the Sebo D4 (bagged) . I love both my vacs with powered heads . Some of my 1200 watt vacs have been detuned to Euro Specs and I’ve had my friend modify them to there 1200 watt ability. In Florida we have no problem producing electricity which I am assuming y the EU made this happen. ??? Sebo Felicia one of my favorites . Love the beautiful exterior exhaust fabric 👍

Always excited to see a Felix, Roger! (personal bias) 😂 Have you ever compared the suction levels between the two Felix motors? (Pre vs post-regulations) Curious to see if it's a similar result to Numatic.
Still waiting for the local Sebo distributor in Australia to drop the E-Series and carbon filters...
Best wishes for a pleasant month of vacuuming!

G'day Roger, thanks for another great review. I have to say that particular Miele baggless is certainly a drawn out messy process to empty compared to some others. I personally think the Blizzard has a better designed baggless dust canister. With baggless vacuums it certainly comes down to the design as some are much cleaner and easier to maintain than others. Looking forward to the follow up on the 1st of March.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  2 роки тому +1

Unfortunately the Blizzard has a non user replaceable exhaust filter attached to the motor that will eventually clog up causing the motor to overheat and fail. I prefer the Boost CX1because at least you can access and replace the exhaust filter.

    • @jamesheggie1854
      @jamesheggie1854 2 роки тому

@@ibaisaic Cheers Roger, that does certainly make scene, but having used the blizzard it still seems alot less messy and complex to maintain plus it performs very well, that's just my opinion though.
Granted it's alot bigger then this new design and this new design is much more compact.
But just from a point of looking after the cleaner the blizzard seems easier.
Keep up your awesome work mate. I love your channel.

Hi Roger, loved your review. Like you, I'm not quite a fan of bagless vacuum cleaners simply because of the palava it is to maintain it vs a bagged model and the cleaning of the filters and I'm still a fan of the bagged Mieles. Ultimately, it's far more hygienic and convenient to just be able to take a bag out and put a new one in. I need to stockpile spare motors and parts for my S8 so I can use it until the end of time - luckily you can buy them from Miele. As you alluded to, you need another vacuum cleaner just to maintain a bagless vacuum cleaner! I have a HX1 Pro and I have to get the bagged Miele just to clean the filters and the emptying isn't a clean business, that's for sure. I was wondering if you prefer the new straight suction nozzle to the old school AllteQ head that was found on the S8-era vacuums? I've never daily-driven the new floorhead but the quality feels slightly disappointing with the plastic soleplate.

Hey Roger, just wondered in regards to that tool caddy, did you find you had any issues with it?? I have the same caddy and tools on my C2 and it's useless as it along with the tools keep falling off, not quite what I expected from miele.. did you experience anything like that???

I hate it when dust sticks to the container inside an outside. Philips used something called „nanoclean“ on their dustcontainers which seems to solve this. I don‘t know why more manufactures are doing something against this problem…

  • @Nico550m

That's a shame, MIELE has skipped some accessories, premium materials, for plastic, nylon. For example, the furniture brush is no longer made of boar bristles, but of nylon bristles, rougher, and suddenly, micro-scratches on fragile plastics. Especially since you could remove the part of the brush to wash the hairs. The underside of the multi-surface brushes, before it was a stainless steel plate, metal, now it is 100% plastic. MIELE has thus reduced the manufacturing cost for accessories. And increase its margin. Reappearance of old models of multi-floor brushes, whose performance depending on the type of floor was not convincing.
What I also noticed is that after the new European standard on the lowering of the power of the motors (1200 Watts to 550 Watts). The models that followed have lost a lot of suction power. MIELE did not revise the design of the turbine engines until much later. So that at low power we maintain a correct or even equivalent suction quality depending on the models without bag, with bag.

Oh dear, oh dear - A bagless Miele is my idea of hell. Let's hope this months isn't as foul as this. Miele really need to stop trying to make bagless cleaners just to fit the market. Sebo is worth millions and gets over 5M each year and don't struggle. My argument is bagged is always better and always will be just due to the fact bagless was stupidly rushed as a design and as people are well... people they have copied a design onto their brand name that has been broken for more than 2 decades now. if Sebo weren't making ends meat they would shutdown, and (if) they do you will have won this argument.

Utterly disappointed with this Boost CX1 Dog & Cat
This is my second Miele vacuum. I was not overly excited with the first one, but thought would give it another chance. And I regretted it.
    PRO:
    - stylish looks (but this is where it all ends)
    CON:
    - rather short power cord
    - disappointing suction
    - difficult to move on the floor (wood and short bristle carpet)
    - poor handle design (because of the curved shape, the hand constantly tends to slide forward on the handle)
    - unreasonably highly priced
    - clunky attachments storage system
    - because of the way it is designed, it takes too much space/room to store
    - other models have suction power regulator button on the handle (which was the best feature of my other Miele vacuum)
    - it seems you just always want to grab the wrong handle to pick it up, grabbing the canister release handle instead of the other one
Boost CX1 is advertised and claimed to be great for small living spaces, but small living spaces all tend to have limited storage space too, so to have this design set up is rather inconvenient.
I am rather surprised Boost CX1 was given design award in 2021.
Overall bagless vacuums in my opinion are just an impractical trend. First they put HEPA filters in and tell you the exhaust air is cleaner that your room air, then you have to open the canister and empty it in a plastic bag letting the very dust you trying to avoid inhaling, around your face while the dust is migrating from the canister to the bag. What was wrong with the bags that would contain the dust and have a closing valve?
