What a wonderful exhibition perfectly lit, curated; even the walls were the correct colour to set the mood; the last room was tragic: the Triptych, 1987, and Study of a Bull, 1991, where Bacon was no longer painting but illustrating paint; the drinking negating the painting. But what came before was absoloutely amazing with Bacon remaining as present, poignant and powerful as ever, forever.
Wow, you were so lucky to be able to see it. Thanks for sharing. Brilliant stuff. I wasn't aware of the chimpanzees and how big some of the paintings were. BACON IS HUGEEEE!!!!!
So both artists were obsessed with gambling because it was a way of relieving themselves of the money they have! Both artists felt more free and were able to concentrate more on their work once they had lost a load of money! Plus Francis really just loved the vibe and feeling of being in a casino!

Fascinating how they were obsessed with gambling. And they did seem to prefer losing!
