The basis for the sporty driving experience is the 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder turbo engine. For use in the hybrid, the engine known from the conventional GLE was extensively modified again. At 449 hp (330 kW), it now produces 14 hp (10 kW) more than before. The update measures include reprogrammed software and an additional nose cooler. The electric additional compressor could be omitted in the hybrid variant because the electric motor takes over its tasks such as electrical boosting. The result: The 3.0‑litre engine reacts extremely spontaneously and offers highly dynamic response.
The in-line 6‑cylinder is combined with a 100‑kW electric motor, a traction battery with 31.2 kWh capacity and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. The high power density of the hybrid power unit is achieved by the permanently excited internal rotor synchronous technology. The electric motor's maximum torque of 480 Nm is available from the first revolution and ensures high agility even when starting off.
The system output of 544 horsepower (400 kW and the maximum system torque of 750 Nm enable impressive driving performance: acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h takes 4.7 seconds. The propulsion only ends at an electronically limited speed of 250 km/h. Up to 140 km/h are possible purely electrically. With an electric range of 80‑86 kilometres (SUV) and 82‑87 kilometres (Coupé) according to WLTP, most everyday distances can be covered purely electrically. A charger with 11 kW charging power is on board for charging with alternating current. In addition, a 60 kW DC fast charger for direct current is available upon request. This allows the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% charge within 20 minutes.

Why does the GLE 53 look better than the GLE 63? I very much prefer this look.

1. That wheel design is old now. An all black wheel with a silver ring outline is not attractive
2. Based on how the GLE 53 is outrageously priced now, there shouldn’t be an increase in the price

Youre the only person who thinks this wheels looks old, it has every feature of a modern steering wheel. And a black wheel is not attractive? What does that even mean? Makes zero sense. Also, repeat after me: attractiveness of design is subjective.

Why are some people acting like the 0-60 time is the only factor that decides what car is better or worse. A Model Y is worse in basically everything except low speed acceleration. Its worse on luxury, tech, build quality, materials, high speed performance, space, driving dynamics, driving comfort. Its only gimmick is a fast 0-60. Doesnt matter

Yeah right, car manufacturers have a mysterious evil plan to transition the market to EVs. How does that make sense. Car companies care about selling cars and making profits and thats all. The market demands hybrids and EVs, thats why Mercedes builds them. Why would car manufacturers want to sell you an Ev over a gas car?? Do people even think before saying something on the internet?
