    I saw a bare knuckle boxer recommend gardening gloves years ago, but he would turn them inside out because the outside is softer and less likely to rip your skin.

      I remember when I was 18 I hit the 100lb bag (all sand) until I bled and kept going. I know there's better ways, but I built some calluses during those months of training. It came to a point where I wouldn't bleed anymore.

    I would even argue the 100% power isn't as fast as like 50% power. Something about not being so tense allows the body to flow faster.

    • @TheAce736
      @TheAce736 3 роки тому +15

      Technique and cleanness of your hit closes that gap,
      ideally you only want to tense up fully at the last second seeing as you can only accelerate gradually. Feeling peak tension early means you're exerting max force when your body isn't fully aligned with the target like you want it to be on impact, so your later tension is a little wasted on correcting the course of your punch instead of adding on to it like if you got progressively more tense as you got into the rigid structure you want to behind your punch at the moment of impact.
      It's like if you throw a yo-yo down too hard, even if you pull up hard too, you can't redirect the force to make it climb back up the string,
      BUT if you throw it gently, THEN pull up hard, the rotational and the linear forces work together and it comes back with speed.

    I've been training bare knuckles for probably 30 years. This is fine if you are punching Bob or a punching bag, but if you are punching a person bare knuckle, this is how you break your fingers or your wrist. For maximum safety, you need to impact with the knuckle of your ring finger. This will enable you to land your punch with three knuckles instead of one, which will distribute the impact across those three knuckles so you don't crush the knuckle of your middle finger and it will prevent your wrist from rolling. Also, when you punch above your shoulder you should use a vertical fist, otherwise you will hit with the second knuckles -on your finger and not your knuckle ridge. This is called "punching along the power line".
    Referred to Jack Dempsey's book championship boxing for a full explanation.

    I bare knuckle because unlike most people I do know how to make a fist and dont have to worry about hurting myself while i hit a heavy bag, also since I was 8 years old learning mixed martial arts i was taught pain is weakness leaving the body, reason why nowadays my body is so conditioned that I don't know pain, like for instance my gallbladder almost ruptured, I wasn't in pain nor anything like the normal person, I just had a mild discomfort and decided to get it checked out, it was so bad i died on the operating table and was thankfully brought back, doctors had me under observation in the hospital for a couple days after my surgery to make sure that everything was to par, so covering my hands after so many years of hitting a heavy bag wouldn't even be an option anymore because it truly doesn't bother me, ive opened my knuckles so many times it's like another day in the office, also the main reason that your hands are wrapped before putting on the gloves is because most people don't know how to throw a punch, it's not just to protect the hands, that's what the gloves themselves are for, the wrap is to protect them from hurting themselves 🤣🤣🤣

    I believe it's much easier to gauge power level when one has acquired a certain knowledge of the strength of their individual muscle groups through training, be it Calisthenics or weight lifting. Like 10% would be bicep power in the form of a jab, cranked up to 20% with the Delts engaged for hooks and 25% for uppercuts using the triceps ,then 30-40%% with Lats and Rhomboids for throwing Hard Rights, and so on with the core and leg power. Real Kaioken ×10 type ish lol man.

  • @railz1510
    @railz1510 3 роки тому

    Old school bare knuckle boxers used to punch with a vertical wrist. The reason why boxers today turn their wrists inwards is because when gloves were introduced to boxing, it became harder to cut your opponent, so they figured out if you punch someone with a glove and twists at the last split second, the leather from the glove with stick to the skin and rip it open. But in street fighting it’s best for someone to throw a straight punch with a vertical fist, as this will provide you with the most wrist stability and also make it easier to land with the two largest knuckles.

    • @fighttips
      @fighttips  3 роки тому +1

      The twisting the fist to cut the skin is a myth. Impact and connection point is what cuts skin.

      The impact gloves are useless in a real fight.. the padding is minimal and there is zero protection to your 4th and 5th metacarpels.. learned from personal experience that due to the chaos of a street fight especially one involving more than 2 combatants, it is all too easy for even trained fighters to land a stupid punch- downward hook- on the wrong location- the top of the cranial crown- at the wrong angle- the typical boxers fracture last two knuckles made contact instead of the first two- and BAM! You just lost a knuckle and now require surgery to fix your hand.. I now have my power hand severely limited in strength and dexterity and cannot throw it with nearly the same ferocity as before- it's still knock out capable but only in gloves God forbid I throw it bare with poor form its guaranteed to break again

    If you is a proffessional fighter is important,if not you don't need to generate much power to take off action a ordinary punk.Your speed,accurase and power is enough.To be honrst you can blind someone with fingers,kick his balls open palm strike on the nose strike the neck can end more fast a combat situatiom.

    Its physycally impossible to hit with all your speed but low power.
    power = work/time to reduce the power without reducing the speed, then you have to change your work= f (mass * acceleration) your arm weights the same all the time, therefore you can only change the acceleration, wich changes the speed.
    mind you, what you are actually doing is reduce the acceleration after the impact, wich by the newton third law, allows more of the reaction energy to be absorbed by your arm, wich requires less energy.
    tldr: the only way for a punch to be less powerfull, its to be slower in the adverage speed of the punch.

      Wrong, you just have to control the point of impact, the “penetration distance” and the tensing in your arm muscles. You can put 100% of your power and tense up your arm to apply all the built energy, or have a noodle arm too.
      Life isn’t as simple as basically formulas bruv, it’s a tad bit more complicated than that

      The scientific definition of power=/=boxing power. If you go 100% speed but barely touch your opponent, it isn't high power.

    I really like ur gloves, But
    shipping to Mexico is always a little more expensive, I hope to be able to work soon to buy some. Idk why
    they have not agreed on any treaty for this type of export, because at the border many people buy from USA-Mexico and Mexico-USA
