Hearing the loons every night was my most favorite part of the Northville Placid Trail. I took crocs with me and would walk flooded and mucky areas with those on and keep my shoes dry. Holy moly I cannot believe how bad that road washed out! Nice video looks like you had a great time.
I really love the West Canada Lakes area! Wow - the blowdown, jacked up bridges, and washed out road were a bit of an eye-opener! Must have been an excessively rough winter. BTW, new bear bag and buff (face blanket) are super boss! I just ordered mine from Hilltop Packs last week ;)
Must have been excessively rough indeed! you will love your stuff from Ben! I've ordered a couple times now and I'm sure I will be ordering more in the future!
Thanks for sharing! Brings back memories. Did that loop in may last year. Awesome trip but lots of blowdown and muck. Didn’t see another person the whole time :)
Looks like you had a great time despite the flooded trails and blow down reroutes. Other than enjoying the company of your friends, I'm guessing the best part of the hike was being serenaded by LOONS and PEEPERS! I see you had your new tent. I hope it met your expectations on the trail. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
Definitely had a great time, and you got it the loons day and peepers were a highlight! It doesn’t take much to entertain me 😂 Hopefully we will be talking about how the tent did next week 👍🏻 Thanks for watching!
might you suppose the lack of maintenance on the trails is due to the State's lack of interest in things natural - Albany could care less- Politics is everything in Albany, just ask FredoCuomo
In this case, no. It was spring and there was just a storm that had come through. Between the winter blowdown, the storm and the pandemic preventing trail maintenance groups from going out this was no ones fault. Typically the trail maintenance is amazing. And volunteer driven. However I can see where your opinion can come from. Thanks for watching 😀
Thanks for your video! I'm looking forward to hiking French Louis next weekend. Mentally prepared for all kinds of wet!
Yay! It will be wet...good luck!

We had a great time despite the sogginess! the Loons were a giant bonus!
What a beautiful area, gorgeous scenery, the minnows and tadpoles where a cool add, lot water in spots on the trail. Take care
Thanks! It is a beautiful area for sure! I had so much fun watching the fish, salamanders and tadpole! Thanks for watching!
What a great area. We did it for the third time again last year(2022) never gets old
It is! I’m hoping to do it again this spring/summer!!
I ♥️ Canada! Thanks for sharing your hike. 🤙🏻
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful area to hike! Loved seeing the wildlife around & views of the lake were really cool to see!
It is such an amazing area! I love going there. The lake views are just so beautiful for such an easy area to get to! Thanks for watching!

Great video. Looked like an awesome hike. Very peaceful. A little bit of a wet trail in spots. Beautiful lake. Great campsite. Well done! Crow✌️
Yes a little wet, lol. It was so quiet and peaceful. Lots of great lean-tos around that area. I need more of that soon.

Loon songs are the best!

What a gorgeous area! Was this filmed in mid-May?
Yes it was! It is a beautiful area for sure!
Another intrepid excursion. Did you kiss that frog? I'm not convinced that princes are good hikers...
I did not kiss the frog. I’m just not that desperate. Lol thanks for watching!
