Leighton Denny has a polish trio called Wings Collection with an almost identical looking light pink plus an equally beautiful ethereal light blue and green. In UK it's available at M&S for 15 £. I've had it since last year and used them a lot. Very beautiful and versatile
While Modern Chanel will find it’s place, theres nothing to Compare to the Chanel of Days gone by.. Always enjoy your stance n perspective with your Chanel reviews ♥️Thank you Jennifer for incorporating the “old” with the New and shedding a light on them both in a favorable manner..
I agree with you on some type of covering over the Chanel blushes. Tweed and snowflake embossing are the two that come to mind. I will try the cotton swab rub in the future 👍🏻
I wasn't interested in the nail polishes until I saw the pink pearlescent shade on your nails. It's really beautiful & I have my eye on the berry/pink blush duo too.
Great overview! Thanks for the comparisons, they help so much! Also, the concept of "design element" seems quite right to me. The eye sticks have that summer music festival vibe. I can easily let go of the peach duo since it looks so much like Printemps. I like Baume Essentiel sticks, but the bronze one looks a dupe for their Golden Light bronze shade, and the lighter one is yellower version of Mermaid. Probably the big shocker is the berry shade, everyone got so excited about it because the social media image going around looked purple, not magenta. We still have not seen genuine Chanel promo photos. But I have a feeling many people are sold on the purple idea and we will see a LOT of returns unless the shopping site photos look more accurate. All the confusion is due to the difficulty of photographing red/blue/purple combinations, these are very affected by the angle of the sun in natural daylight. If you photo a pink/purple in winter or spring, it will look more bluish, in summer and fall the light is more yellow and so the reddish hue will be more prominent.
Thanks for the review. Love the nail polishes too! Personally I would classify the green shade as “Chartreuse” as it has some yellow in the composition.
Thanks! I agree the nail polishes look great, and is the only thing I am interested in other than the balm essential. I need to see that in person tho!
I can see where this collection is more of a summer transition to fall. The blush/highlighter duos are what really pique my interest, particularly the light and berry combo. The gold and peach duo are great for summer and fall, and I will probably get that one as well, although I don’t really need it. I’m still waiting for these to become available on their website here.
Thanks you for the review ❤The brown eyeliner is plumby brown . It is beautiful. The brown nail polish also is plumby. ( very surprising) I was going to just buy the berry now I have to buy the peach 😂.its so beautiful on you .
For me the colours are more like a September collection … if this exists. In September the nature is still bright and a bit golden. Corally, mild. I always have some beauty products and perfumes (e.g. Chamade, Chanel N22) especially dedicated to this - fifth - season. I love the idea of a enchanted garden, dewy, calm and colourful. Thank you, Jennifer!
Was waiting for this one, thanks so much, dear Jennifer, and all looks super beautiful on you, i cannot choose actually which blush/highlighter combination, they both look beautiful, as well as the other products!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩Do i need this, no, still swimm in makeup, Jennifer. Are the purple shadow stick and the cute light pink nail polish calling my name, yes, so maybe an eyeshadow stick, i still have so much face stuff. And having sensitive eyes, i really declutter cream/liquid eye products in time, i have to. Beautiful video, really nice comparisons, thanks again, enjoy your day!!!😘😘😘😘
I love the nail polishes. I do want to try some of those Stylo shades and maybe the berry blush. The longer I wait for this collection the more gimmicky they feel to me. I love the colorful choices don’t get me wrong. I would just have to force myself to wear those colors. Thank you for all your swatches and thoughts!!
Oh wow! I have the cool effects in caroube and vert grise. I’m going to bring them out and wear them again! Thanks for a great video. The only thing I’m interested in is the brown nail polish.
Well that’s a new one for me. Puce is French for flea. In English a pale to mid brownish pink. Apparently the green came into play in the 90s. I think it must be be a modern more amarican term. I’ve never heard it before :) Love the nail colours on you . And the others too for that matter :)
I love the nail polishes the best and I want to pick those up. I might pick up the berry blush. I’m not fond of the eye liner sticks, so I’m going to skip those. Thanks for the review! 😊
Great review Jennifer . I think I am skipping blush duos. Pink it’s too cool, and I have so many from previous collections . Coral I don’t think it’s warm enough . Actually I am not really reaching for spring collection duo as well, since I got Dior poppy coral ( much more coral and warmer) , and highlighter to me, it’s too bright. I already have my favorite, for summer, from Les Symbols in warm gold… nail polishes, I don’t really like the colors, and stylos. Those few i might get . The pink one and blue one. Maybe brown one as well, since it’s really looking warm tone 🤔 Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Thank you so much for the great swatches and try-ons. I like both duos on you. The eye pencils look great too. And now, of course, I want the nail polishes. The balm sticks are too dewy for me especially in summer so I don’t mind at all that you hadn’t received it yet.
I got the berry duo and the green shadow/liner stick. Love em both although the shadow stick does have a bit of glitter fall out 😕 Thanks for your review ❤❤
Thanks for showing these Jen. Now, I'm even more tempted! I aready have an orange shade of a Glow Blush, yet it's the versatility as you stated of having these two products together. Since I first saw these, it was the berry/plum Blush that took my interest and someone esle had stated that there was a shift to the pink Highlighter - is this true? I really like the Kajal Liners from Shiseido in the same format but they don't have that stunning green, mauve and the light pink has never returned to stock. I have to keep my mind on the nice big bills I have coming up very soon which are of much more importance. If it's meant to be, they'll stay around long enough.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨
Other reviews of the new blushes have all commented about the lack of pigmentation. They might be in for a surprise as they work their way through that top layer you refer to.
I’ve seen is happen before.. I really don’t know why they have that “outer layer” I hope it’s to keep it from cracking during shipment. It’s a newer thing… the old ones didn’t have it
The green is chartreuse green in Europe; puce is pink in Europe. The pencils are very disappointing - they contain glitter which becomes more prominent as they wear and I found they irritated my eyes. [green and blue]
I tried one of the reformulated Chanel nail colors and it was garbage. So I'm surprised by hearing you praise them. I'm wearing an old formulation one right now. They used to be great. Did I get a dud with Activiste? Love the color but starts chipping in less than 24 hours. But I always do my own nails, so I really notice that stuff. How about you? The rest of this collection is a hard pass. Just not that great for the money. Fun fact: Puce means "flea" in French. I guess they found fleas to be kind of plummy colored. How we ended up with it meaning chartreuse is beyond me. Happy Sunday and thanks for the video!💚
Interesting! I wonder why different countries have a different description of puce. I haven’t had any chipping issues with my Chanel polishes. I don’t think they’re as good as they use to be, but unfortunately nothing is. When did you get Activiste? They’ve changed the formula several times so it’s possible that there was a formula that wasn’t as good.
@@Allfeisty Mine is the most recent formula change. I got it from my SA at Brickell. She and I discussed the reformulation at length because I had used Chanel and Dior polishes for years. My old ones are still great. However, it's possible that the new metallics are better than the new creams. Metallics always wear longer, so your experience with those could be better. I'm simply not buying Chanel any more. Don't know if Dior screwed up theirs. They have a purple polish in the Plan de Paris collection that I may try. Then I'll have some idea of what they did.
I bought the Chanel Rose Polaire and it’s very underwhelming, and it’s almost hardpan already so no Chanel blush for me. I’m not impressed with their blushes at all.

Good to know. Pinned it for those looking for a less expensive alternative 😊
Leighton Denny polishes are excellent- they blow Chanel polishes out of the water.

I am so excited for that green nail polish….for better or worse. The pink polish looks wonderful on your hands!
I agree with you on some type of covering over the Chanel blushes. Tweed and snowflake embossing are the two that come to mind. I will try the cotton swab rub in the future 👍🏻

The chartreuse (greenish gold) nail polish on toenails in August (high summer). Otherwise, Halloween.
Or a very fall look 😊I need to be super careful with those colours

I found the eye sticks too glittery with lots of fallout. If you didn’t have fallout was there anything special you did?
I didn’t have any fallout but I applied them directly to my eyes and then patted with my finger
And I’ll have a more thorough update after trying them different ways
