In Australia the maximum width of trucks has been allowed to be increased by 5cm to allow Volvo EV trucks to be road legal. Volvo are one of Australians big truck manufacturers.
Tesla truck production start has been promised for 2019 😂 No one wants a truck without service network, but Elon will now get government money to push them out anyway. Welcome to the United States of CCP.
Thanks for another great ride along and the DAF show coverage! It's great that the manufacturers are engaging with their customers and providing personalised support.

The prices will come down as the batteries are set to drop in price by 50% by next year acording to CATL and the range is increasing as they change to superior Cathodes ... They dont need so much Lithium and no Ni or Cobolt.
blessed to have found this channel. thanks brother for this wonderful information and clearing all misconceptions about evs and electric trucks in general
The irony is that the cruise ship is an extreme source of pollution. In 🇳🇱 activist sometimes try to stop them entering the Amsterdam harbor. You may feel about this as you may, but electric trucking is a part of a larger goal to move away from fossil fuels and cruise ships negate some of the gains. 🌷🤷♀️
Theres no technology yet to make the cruise ships carbon neutral or less polluting. They are investigating large solar sails that harvest both wind and solar power for container ships which is interesting technology. But in the meantime you cant tell people that they cant go on cruises. Not only will your opposition not be successful but it is a sure way to alienate the public from buying into the energy transition.
Love your vids man thanks for translating them. At first it was a bit confusing not matching the mouth. It gets better overtime, but could I recommend doing it like they do in Natgeo dubs, keeping the original voice but making it very quiet over the dub? Im a Renault Zoe (40kWh) driver, but I have the 43kW AC charging option. There's surprisingly still some chargers here in France, but it's slowly fading away and most rest stops on the highway do not have 43kW AC anymore. But I love this car, it'' s really amazing, currently having 130000km on the odometer.
@@electrictrucker Thanks for taking my jovial dig for what it was - a lighthearted joke at the way things can sometimes be lost in translation. Truth is I think you do a most wonderful job translating his german and editing the videos. Bravo :)
It will take a long time before anyone can get to try one as still fery few of them were made and all are being "tested" by a few large companies. Regardless of the truck itself and whether it's any good (and since very few actually drove it and they're not providing too much informationl) it seems that Tesla does not have the ability to mass pruduce those trucks or provide worlwide (or even countrywide in the US) service. Even with the regular tesla cars they have service problens when even small repares costs a lot and can take months due to lack of parts, something that is alwase inconvenient but still manageable fow a private car owner but not something a trucker can accept.
@AL5520 which is why Tesla's approach is different for trucks, they are building up the logistics first , getting the truck to be a finished product and training staff at big company's to be a able to fix the trucks , now that's not to say it will work but at least they are trying to address it.
Probably would need to be a day cab version. I think it would be too long for the European market. Range is not issue with them.. over 500 miles I think.

If your company only runs scheduled short distance deliveries and has to charge overnight at the depot anyway, a 22 kW wallbox is enough to charge half of the truck overnight, while saving you a lot of money in installation costs compared to a 150 kW setup.
@@electrictruckerexactly, you install high power DC chargers at the hub, and AC chargers at the spokes. Huge savings in installation costs and maintenance too.
While price is an issue, the range is not in so many usecases. Often trucks don't need to drive 300 miles or more in one setting. Especially in Europe, in the new trucks the battery isn't the limiting factor anymore. It's the regulations for driving and rest times.
@@fgerstm2069 Haven´t seen a heavy EV truck yet that can drive with trailer 480 km. Up North there´s a lot logistic hubs that are way out of reach för EV Trucks.
@@sallerc Yes, the maintenance cost is lower for EV trucks, and so is the fuel cost. However, the price is more than double. A diesel truck can be used quite easily for 15-20 years. Then there is the aftermarket value to consider. How many people are willing to buy a 10-year-old EV truck? That's something we don't know at this moment. If we look at how EV cars are performing in the aftermarket sales, it doesn't look promising. But of course, things can change.
Most companies I work for run their trucks 24/7, the truck is insured, taxed and depreciates 24/7 so you are are losing money if the wheels are not turning. A battery powered truck would be of no use as we would need nearly twice the number of trucks for the same job.
I doubt what you say as there are laws in every country about drivers rest periods and the maintenance periods of diesel trucks is a heavy burden of time and money.
Shutting down at 35℃ means they're not going to work in Australia. Which is annoying because I'd love to see more electric trucks round the city here, despite our regular 40℃+ days.
