Another great thing about Dayton is we are only an hour north of Cincinnati and an hour west of Columbus. I always go to events in Columbus and Cincinnati since we're so close to both. Dayton is also investing in cleaning up the city and reviving a lot of older run down buildings. Been living downtown for a few months now and haven't felt unsafe once and I lived in Vegas before. Much rather be out here!
As a lifetime Dayton resident. Dayton airport has few direct flights (so it sucks). On a plus, you can get anywhere in Dayton in 20 minutes (from one side to the other) and traffic is almost non-existent. Suburbs in Dayton are decent compared to Cincinnati. Jobs are more prevalent in Cincy. Schools in Cincy are good .. and definitely more things to do.
This is VERY true, Cincinnati vs. Dayton are VERY DIFFERENT from each other. Despite only being an hour away from one another. 💯 It's the same way with New Orleans & Baton Rouge. 💯
@@LilChiefMoe7 Trust Me, I've Been To Dayton Many Many Many Times, More Than I Can Count And Each Time I Went, It Took Me An Hour To Get From Cincinnati To Dayton And Vice Versa. It Might Take Others Less Time, But I'm Only Speaking From My Own Experiences. 💯
Native Cincinnatian here- however, Dayton has lower cost and less traffic , more compact , easier to get around-, pretty complete arts offerings, easier place to live. What Dayton doesn’t have for things to do - drive an hour to Cincinnati or an hour and a half to Columbus.
The downtown area of my city Dayton Ohio is now a lot nicer and better.there are new and major shopping areas also going up now. The biggest project is the Dayton arcade opening back up & new parks are going up as well and this is for the major metropolitan area of the city especially downtown.
I don't see it ... But okay, it's boring in Dayton now and I've been here born and raised. Lived in Cincinnati for a couple of years and awesome doors opened for me. Moved back to Dayton to care for my mother until she passed.
I happened to find this video in search of how it is for black folks in Dayton Ohio. My wife and I are moving to Dayton for my current job. I keep looking for things to see where the black communities are located in Dayton. Thanks for the video 👍🏾
Another nice thing about Dayton: you can live in the Dayton metro ate and drive to the Cincinnati one. I bought my home in Springfield 6 years ago. I was derided by Columbus friends as to why? After shooting holes in their claims, I stated: "One of the best things about Springfield is that it's 25 miles from Dayton and 40 miles to Columbus. Both are easy commutes for jobs."
this is not a realistic comparison. Have lived in both places and also Columbus and Cleveland. Dayton, by far, is the place for me. I live in the Suburbs and it's the most beautiful and safest place I've lived. It depends on what life has dished out to you .Oakwood, Kettering, and Centerville is a great place to run a small business and live a secure and quiet family life. I relocated back here from N.W. DC and this place feels like heaven to me.
So life has dished out to me a potential home on the west side of Dayton, central, Cornell Heights or Residence Park. How safe would you say those neighborhoods are? Should I invest in security bars for windows and doors?
You either want a big city or small city. Downtown wise Dayton is with Toledo, Akron. Dayton comes nowhere close to any of the 3 C’s. Hard to cross shop big city to small city. Imo
Middletown is on the verge of a major Renaissance, population is growing, Central Ave has been completely rebuilt downtown has been recovering for many years, the river is more beautiful than Dayton/Cincy/Hamilton, it's entirely green, natural for like 6 miles both side of river, and it simply has the best location in Ohio. Great housing stock as well. It's on the rise.
Why do people think there's so much more to do in Cincinnati? I've lived in both multiple times and currently live in Dayton and work in Cincinnati. Like, do ya'll go to museums every single day? Lol sure there's more museums in Cincinnati. But in terms of restaurants, bars, etc. the only thing Cincinnati has that Dayton doesn't is night clubs. And honestly, if you're older than 27 you should probably get a life haha.
As someone who is born and raised in Dayton I would never live in Cincinnati I only go there for the zoo. Dayton's cheaper. Probably a little more dangerous but both cities are crime ridden more drugs in Dayton more drug dealers in Cincinnai.
Both Dayton and Cincinnati jails suck. Medical examiner in Dayton old, dated and over crowded with bodies. Cincinnati has a new medical examiner examiner office that is bad ass! I would rather die in Cincinnati that Dayton.
Those days are over. The largest MSA in Ohio in Cincinnati. Has been for like 10+ years. Columbus is second and Cleveland is third. I actually just went to Cleveland during COVID 2020. It was dead and Cincinnati wasn’t at the same time. But I do say I think Cleveland has a mold for a great downtown. They just need to bring life back down there.

Non-existent traffic? You must drive at 3am in the morning lol. Avoid I-75 at all times and steer clear of Cincy. It’s a shitshow
That was my first thought. At least 20 minutes to everything, maybe 40.
Im from Dayton, moved toSan diego 5yrs ago.Best decision i made in my life.

I loved New Orleans. Didn't see Baton Rouge though...
@@HousesByVic I've been to both and they have the same situation we do as in two cities being very different despite being close in distance. 💯
An hour? Dayton to Cincinnati is only about 40 minutes away from each other.
@@LilChiefMoe7 It usually takes me an hour to get to both depending on the traffic on I-75. 💯

Love your videos, Vic! Actually my brother is a realtor in the Dayton area. I think Cincinnati is pretty cool. Love the history of the area.
Appreciate that sir 🙏

same, got a job at Wright-Pat
You can live anywhere you want in Dayton or the surrounding area, no one cares what race anybody is anywhere in Ohio
@skennyp1434 I been here in Dayton for a month and I can clearly see that! Which is great.
Being from Dayton you really want to avoid those neighborhoods. No offense. Unless you want to have your house broken into multiple times a year.
@@skennyp1434 nah u wrong cincinnati don't fw yall white folks at all u kno dat
Thanks Vic. This video is very helpful.
Glad to help !
Thanks Vic! Cool guy 👍
the same.....the nati kept the old area code.....yes they once had the same area code
Yup. 513. 💯
I currently stay in Dayton Ohio in the beaver creek area I was looking to move toward the Springdale area
Both cities are cool! I just helped someone in Springdale. Feel free to reach out. Small, but popular community
Good stuff man!!
Appreciate that 🙏

Really wish I could live in cincy but an hour commute was just to far
i'd rather live in cincy over dayton , i'm from cleveland
Salute To Cleveland, I Never Been Up There Before But I Look Forward To Going. 💯
Majority of Dayton is mainly industrial and factories, along side of the freeway
I consider the age of a person Giving opinions a key part of the believability of the information.
Astounding
Just make sure you move to the West side in Dayton. awesome place for a family 😅😅
😂 but I grew up there, so I can do it lol
Nothing wrong with the west side. You might just be racist
The east and north are no better

Nigga Cincinnati is small lol
Just move to Middletown, and you can enjoy both.
it is right there in the middle of both
Hence the name lol
Middletown!…Yeesh! 😟

They both have very high crime rates, homicide rates and poor schools in the urban areas. Just live in the suburbs
Dayton Ohio and Cincinnati hate crime waiting to happen😂😂 I went there on vacation wound up on probation
😳
We don't hate Dayton. Lol! 🤣😂💀 They're Cool. 😎

That's an interesting point of view
Hardly a factor
Neither is on Cleveland's level
Can't wait to visit. Planning on it
