Outstanding commentary Tac! Self-Driving vehicles are a good enabling technology to further enhance the performance of an experienced, motivated and committed professional trucker.
william selzer yeah I tried but hopefully into the future and see the things that could be and should be better for the drivers thanks for watching and commenting
Look at the robots manning the factories.... Otto is probably coming. I saw the video... not sure of the path it took or many of the particulars... but it must be doable
It's coming a lot quicker than you think. Look up "Rio Tinto"...There will be no truck drivers in the foreseeable future. This is not a tool to assist, only replace. A young person looking to get into the trucking industry should enter the technical or mechanical end of it. Three point five million drivers + their family's will suffer as a result of this invention. It's a real shame!
Driverless trucks will fail. There will be a day when thousands of 18 wheeler all crash on the same day because of some computer glitch or some hacker in Russia.
I personally don't like it, even the car version. Does anyone watch Tech Sci-Fi? Or read books like Orwell's 1984? I've been into computers since the 80's, I love the concepts but also see the evil in it as well. For me I love to drive not sit as a babysitter for a machine. Terminator comes to mind. We always want to replace a human. Not good in my eyes. Of course corporate would love it since it means more money for them at fellow human's expense. Reminds me of the Self Checkout line, not exactly the same, but I see the negative in it. For each terminal there is one more human in the unemployment line. This is why I never use it. It is my small way of trying to keep people working. Maybe the driver would still be needed, but for how long? How long do you think it will take for the technology to advance itself to replace a beating heart?

Chuck Boyle technology and trucking has come a long way and I enjoy every bit of it
Here's one cat that won't be getting any sleep while Otto is going down the road !!
1armedguy yeah it will take a lot of getting used to
your attitude towards things is good. you don't rush to judge anything in a negative way. thanks for your videos, lots of real good material

If it brings the prices of beer and snack cakes down, I'm good with it!
saltyshellback yea it will hope

Jess Harden I think it was a straight shot down 25 on the bypass around Denver
They dont pay drivers enough as it is, Imagine how much less if your lucky enough to babysit otto.
jasmats yeah you're probably right I'm sure the driver will end up paying most of the cost of these new trucks
It's only Budweiser, so what's the big deal.
Justanoldguy '46 yeah there you go at least you could drink beer while you're going down the highway
