Everglass Dream looks so beautiful on you 😍 Thank you for sharing love! Yes! We like to describe it as a serum-gel hybrid formula 💞 Also wow that Cherub + Persimmon combo!!
When I was working from home, I enjoyed going to the public library or a coffee shop to do my work. That way I got a change of scenery while also being in a calm/ chill environment. It also motivated me to actually get ready for the day and put on real clothes
I like having an office space in my home that is dedicated to work, and I try not to take my work out of that room. It helps a lot! I also try to go out to a restaurant/bar once a week, I’m really introverted so this is usually enough for me :) my dogs also get me out everyday and chatting to people at the dog park
Agree! For me, I would be trading isolation at home for isolation in a studio, plus having to drive, weather, missing my pets, etc. Coffee bar, shopping mall, Yoga, Tai Chi, getting together for lunch with a friend - lots of other things to do outside of the house. I write down a few things I'd like do to each week and it doesn't matter if I do them or not, it's just nice to pick ideas out.
I agree I’ve been working from home for two years now now I’m doing it hybrid so when we can when we go out I am kind of introverted but I like to go out so I usually walk my dog I like to draw the pottery classes would be amazing even taking cooking classes there’s a lot of places that do that I’m in New York City so it’s easier but definitely do that it helps clear your mind and having a space that you can travel to will also help you
I've been working from home exclusively for almost three years now and I totally agree with both comments here. Getting a studio space might just complicate the situation with extra bills and not necessarily leading to more socialization. If you have a dedicated office in your house, then it's ideal to keep your work in that area. Then once you are done with work for the day, close the door to that room and pretend it's not there. Having a set schedule for something else in life that will get you out of the house is also super helpful. Like a workout class, or weekly girl's brunch, family game night, date night-- anything that you can put on your calendar and stick to. Hope that helps!
Oh wow yea I didnt think about how I could be bring that isolation somewhere else. Very good point. I think i'll start by trying to find a cute cafe in a different area
Girl also....same! The isolation is real! One thing I've been doing is taking group classes at the gym, taking a ceramics class, and prioritizing going out with friends and family. My friend and I have started scheduling walking dates. Where we catch up and walk new trails/parks in our city
I'm a freelancer/hybrid creative and getting a studio was a GAMECHANGER! Even such a small thing like not taking my laptop with me back home/everywhere (it lives in the studio now) is so comforting, now my home is a work-free space and I feel like I have so much mental comfort not to be pressured to work at my actual home. Highly recommend! Love your content, sending good vibes from London ❤✨
Pottery is the best! It's a great new hobby. I've been doing it for over 10 years and love it. Wheel throwing has a harder learning curve, but a lot of people prefer the pieces they can make once they get the hang of it. If you do try it, don't get discouraged! Everybody fails at the beginning. I've recently gotten into hand building and I love it so much. I got tired of the wheel and it was super fun to learn a bunch of new pottery skills. So if you're intimidated by the wheel, here's a vote for hand building! Art hobbies, including pottery, is one of my best tips for working from home. Especially since you're also a creative person you might actually enjoy learning a new art skill, and having a class time to go to is a good commitment to actually make yourself go. Fellow introvert feels lol. Also I second the person who said don't work in bed. Either have a work couch or comfy chair that you can go to when you want to work. It's so tempting to just work from bed and stay comfy, but it really starts to blur the lines in a bad way. I created a comfy couch area with a nice lamp and decorations that I can go sit in and feel super comfy when I don't want to sit up to work, but that keeps work out of my bed.
Beautiful look as usual! In Terms of the isolation, make sure you get out and about a few times a week. Walk to a coffee shop or something. Take your computer and do some work there. Also do not work in bed. If you can, make sure your work area is separate from your bedroom. Instead of getting a separate studio space I would do up a dedicated makeup room so you wanted to only work in there. When you’re done working or you want to limit it, close the door and don’t go in. Treat it like you’re going into the office that day. That is your office. And speak to someone on the phone at least every day. Maybe do in person meetings instead of zoom when possible. And dress up for it. We are social beings so we all need that.
For the algorithm! I love listening to your content while I cook or do chores because you have an amazing voice and just the right amount descriptives to know what's going on without being overdone.
I started feeling that way too but started a routine in the evening to drive up to my nearest park and set a timer of 20-30 minute and walk in the cooler breeze of the evening and breathing in the fresh air… it Truly works especially being indoors so much often in my day. Besides getting out to shop it just hits different in a park full of grass and trees
I’ve been working from home since Covid and I’ve found going to the gym with with my bestie everyday really helps to mitigate the isolation. I’m also in Rotary so we do a lot of volunteer work and that’s a lot of fun and very fulfilling.
Yes! Having an office room in my home has been amazing! My laptop and desktop are planted there and that’s where work stays! Had to break the habit of working in bed… cause it not good for my back/body! Also setting boundaries for work time has been helpful too!
I have been WFH for over two years now. One thing I have done is decided which spaces I will work and which ones I will not. Having those boundaries are important for me. I also have a routine schedule I follow daily and make sure I get outside to exercise and just get out of the house. I hope that helps 💕
From someone who works from home - I try to switch up my work environment when I can. Meaning, I’ll often go to a coffee shop or a library and work there for a few hours. I find that this helps break the monotony that working from home brings! I do have a designated office in my home, but sometimes I get stir-crazy seeing the same four walls every day. I also use this as a chance to try new coffee shops/libraries that I wouldn’t have otherwise tried 💕 Hugs from sweltering Texas 💕
1) I absolutely love that I have a couple of days where I work at my office. It's nice to be in a different environment and to see my friends at work again! 2) I would love to see some more shop my stash videos, OR a "randomly pick an eye palette" and build a look around it video! I love the shop my stash videos because I have downsized my collection (more like finally got rid of all my expired makeup that I've been hoarding since ~2017) and I struggle with getting inspired. I have a corporate job now, but there's no "dress code" around makeup, so I love doing fun eye looks! But I struggle with inspiration because I don't exactly love the corporate-friendly way of spicing up makeup with just a bunch of shimmer. That feels boring! Anyways, loved this look, Julia!! Seriously considering that foundation if Dear Dahlia's sample kits ever come back in stock!!
I’ve been remote for 2+ years now and a. I think a studio is a great idea! love what Jamie Paige did 💕 b. would switch it up and go edit at a different coffee shop every week ✨ take advantage of the world being your office :) also i loveee going to new cities and working remote from different coffee shops there! makes me feel more like a local and I love people watching in between edits haha
I'm retired . When I'm feeling isolated , I reach out and help a struggling family member or friend. Focusing on helping someone else always shows me that we're all going through and not alone.
I have worked from home as an artist for 20 years. I always made hiking+coffee dates with my bestie or twin. Since we moved to New Mexico and my husband retired, it has been more difficult. I'm very extroverted, but love my alone time. But we have new neighbor's that we like, to make little plans with.
Love the other commenters advice. I teach fitness classes and do in home training with clients and I can’t express enough how life changing it can be to sign up for group fitness classes. We are meant to be social people and adding in the exercise can completely change your mindset. Even if you don’t talk to anyone else during the classes, being in a group setting will give you a feeling of belonging to a team.
I wanna sleep like a cat, relaxed and cozy. This look is really cute!! I love peachy looks and need to use this neglected palette to do a similar look soon! Impressed on how great your lashes look using Makeup Forever's new mascara.
I joined Orange Theory because I schedule myself to get out of the house for at least 2 hours a day. Plus it’s good music and movement that can help your mental health.
I took a stained glass course at Under the Sun in Leduc last fall, and it was fantastic! Highly recommend. I want to get back into it once I have more time.
I worked from home for six years a few years before Covid. I told people in 2020 that the WFH honeymoon would end and I think it’s starting to! You, though, are self-employed! Like others, I highly recommend a dedicated room if you can before splurging on a whole different space. Walks helped me as well and once a week or so coffee shop breaks for a few hours were good. Even as introverts we need people, sympathy! ❤️
You are so beautiful and genuine and talented and honest... Such a delight... I'm always so happy when I get an alert for your uploads... I am totally getting that foundation and mascara
I wfh and because i can work my own hrs and dont have a team that skypes etc (own business) i joined some groups in the community like the community garden and a conservation group. They often have some mid week activities ....it was just a good way to make me leave the house, break up my day and interact with people
firstly, i was internally screaming during the whole video for you to add some of the persimmon blush shade on top of cherub, and you did at the end i was so happy!!! so stunning
I think a big thing that helped me from not feeling isolated was to take walks, even if it was just around the neighborhood. It helped clear my head a lot and maybe I’d walk by people and start to talk to them so overall it helped
I love kaleidose eyeshadows and all their products really. Eyeshadow from them had unique colour stories and amazing shimmers. I bought the mascara today because people are loving it and especially Allie Gliines because she is very picky about mascara
When COVID hit I was working at home on my dining room table in an open plan space in my home with my computer permanently set up and this started really impacting my mental health as I couldn’t shut the door on my work. It was quite dramatic but I moved house to buy somewhere with an office and I shut the door at the end of the day and the physical shutting of the door enables me to switch work off more. I am in a hybrid working pattern now, but when I was working from home full time I was having virtual coffee breaks with colleagues which was nice. I do crafting with my friends - card making and scrapbooking and that is wonderful for me.
I'm sure someone else would have mentioned this, but re: working from home, try to have a dedicated space for working (a desk, or even a dedicated room if you have space) that you try to only use for work so you don't find yourself working from your bed or couch etc. Try to take breaks where you can walk outside for ten minutes at least a few times a day, and maybe work from a coffee shop for a couple hours every week to get yourself out of the house too
I’ve been working from home for the last 3 years - I was kind of relieved once the pandemic began but now I’m restless and feeling lonely, as well. The best activities for me have been going to the gym and finding a reason to leave the house as much as possible. I like doing grocery runs and stopping by local coffee shops or bookstores to talk with people, even makeup shopping at Ulta or Sephora and talking to the employees helps. But a separate studio is a good idea, it doesn’t always help with loneliness - my boss updated a bedroom to an office space for me to use if I go over to her place to work if I need to and I dislike it because I’m by myself there, too.
Hi Julia! I've been working from home for about 2.5 years now, and I'm honestly still not tired of it. I think it really helps that I have a partner where we can entertain each other. But aside from that, I really don't go out either. I think what keeps me sane is going to the gym in the morning before work. It gives me some time to get a little fresh air and wake up my body. On days when I don't work out, I feel so groggy and unmotivated, so working out definitely helps set my mood for the day. Also, when I'm feeling tired or overwhelmed after sitting and working for hours, I'll just go walk to my living room window and stand there just to get some nice sunlight lol! But I also think getting a work space that isn't your home would definitely help your situation. Or maybe even a coffee shop. I'll go to a coffee shop to work maybe once a month, and I really enjoy the change in scenery. And who doesn't love coffee? 🙂
The prettiest girl! Love this color combo 😍 also yes I think a new work space would be fun and better for you. Plus who doesn't love to decorate a new filming space!
I have a home office in a room that has a large window so lots on sunshine and a view. I work in my office M-F 8 to 5 with breaks. During my breaks, I take walks, go out to lunch/coffee with a friend or run errands. After work, 3 x a week I go to a cardio class or some type of fun crafts class. The key to my sanity is, my office and work closes at 5:00!
you could try editing outside of your home (parks/coffee shops etc) as a way to routinely be out and around people without putting up rent. also? you are ethereal, enough is enough
A studio space will be great Julia. For me personally, my depression really ramps up when I have no reason to leave my house. I think having a place of work you have to go to would be great to get you out of the same 4 walls you've been isolating in
I work from home also. Make your bed first thing in the morning to prevent working from bed. Even if you’re not going to see anyone else, get dressed for the day. You’re not supposed to wear shoes in your house, but put shoes on. Something about not wearing shoes makes you want to relax. Break up your day. Schedule lunch with a friend, go to the gym before or after working so you’re around people and you have a schedule. If the weather is nice, go for a walk. Also, schedule your breaks and don’t work past your “work day”.
I am dying lip swatches of the everglass lip dews! I am curious how they compare to the Amuse Dew Lips from Korea. The price is similar so please check them out too maybe?
I def feel the need to come and go to work to get my mental state to be better. I have been feeling isolated since I just moved so trying to find new friends has been hard. I’ve been in the habit of saying yes to social invitations
I’m so happy somebody is giving the match sticks the love they deserve! The Fenty match stick in Amber has been a holy grail since it came out and I’ve gone through so many since. People never talked about them on UA-cam but now that the new shades came out they are getting hype 😍 love the look also xxx
I have been working from home for the last 4 years. As an introvert, it is a blessing and a curse. Adedicated office space (at home or a studio) is a must! Whatever works for you to separate work/home. I also make sure to video chat with someone (friends/colleagues/counsellor) daily to feel more connected! A group class is an awesome idea; making sure to get out and interact even a couple times a week on your non-work hours will make you feel so much better. It is so stressful laying down a chunk of cash; with the amount of time you spend at home the value and benefits you will get from having a space you love is an excellent investment
Try to establish separate designated areas for sleep, work, eating etc. if able. That is supposed to be helpful & healthier! Love your videos and I truly hope you find something that makes you feel a connection because you don’t deserve to feel isolated, Julia. Xoxo♥️🤗🌻
I had the Laura mercier all that sparkles and paired it with the tinted moisturizer and it was nice but it was way more highlighter than blush. I feel like I can get that from other products? It seemed a little over priced for me so I ended up returning it. It is pretty though. Loved catching up with you! Hope you are enjoying your summer 🌺🌻☀️
I work from home and have a dedicated office space. When I’m not working I make sure to close the door on it lol! No taking my computer into other rooms because it bleeds too much. I’ve WFH for 6.5 years now. To try and get my social fix I’ll sometimes just go out for lunch and be out with people but by myself, schedule dinner dates with friends, sign up for group fitness like Orange Theory. Idk those are some things that I’ve done
I work from my computer at home a LOT. I try to open a window and get as much natural light as possible, and when I do portable tasks, I’ll take em to a coffee shop. That way I can be alone to work, but around other people :) noise cancelling headphones are a plus.
Love the video, thanks for all the Fun and informative content you create! You talked a little bit about your mental health concerning working at home, and as someone with a turbulent mental health history and a lot of work that i used to do at home, i can really recommend having a seperate work space. A seperate room at home which you only use for work can already help, but a space Outside of your work - for me - is Quite ideal, bc i can really come home After work and relax there without feeling guilty for being „lazy“, as well as creating some distance between my work and my spare time. Also im just more productive that way bc im less distracted and with less things that i can distract myself with. Other than that, what helps me is doing a Sports class with friends (doing it with others help me „forcing“ myself to Go Even if i dont feel like going and afterwards i always feel really good that i did it. And i try to do something creative once a week, usually painting or crocheting when im home, but i have taken a pottery class before and generally it really makes me feel good to create something with my hands. So this has been a long comment, sorry for that, but i hope you find something that works for you!
Having a separate studio/work space can be really helpful with working from home. It can keep you more balanced so you're not working when you should be doing home stuff and so you're more likely to get out of the rut of doing home stuff when you should be working. It keeps me inspired and productive to have a space that is a workspace, however that looks for you. I don't currently have a space for that so if I'm editing or working on my computer I can always go to a coffee shop and socially distance but still feel part of society. I'm actually disabled and feel isolated quite a bit so any time I can get my scooter on the lift and be part of the world is a good day for me! Otherwise my dog gets smothered 🥰
💯 get yourself an office… it’s will pay its way forward . Having a space /reason to get up and out of the house helps with the mental battle & isolation. 💜
I’m sure rent is high everywhere so what about having your step dad build a small office shed in your backyard if you have the space? With a small powder room? That also sounds like a good/different video for you to film for us if you were to do that 😅
Beautiful look! Set hours for your office. Whether day or night set hours for when you can be working and see if you still need a separate office. You might try taking your computer out of the house every once in a while to do your work and see if you enjoy it 🤷🏻♀️♥️
One more tip! Volunteer! Something I specifically attempted but failed because I have no experience, was volunteer MUA services. I don’t know where you stand on doing makeup for others anymore, but you could offer to volunteer at non profits doing makeup for people who wouldn’t normally have that much access.
When I was working from home, I got ready to work because I was on video calls all day long. I think I’d get ready even if I were just on the phone. I would change clothes after I’m done work and leave my work area. There was a sense of being home and being at work. I wished I had more time to go out of the house for a walk, but I was so packed, I rarely got a chance to do it.
Hiiii, I’ve been working from home for a while, luckily was able to move back in with my mom but eventually I started feeling isolated also. My advise is to just leave the house and go somewhere. Anywhere. Find places you enjoy and feel at peace at. Take some classes to get out of your comfort zone. (Currently in pottery, best decision). You also meet so many different people. Dating is fun but can be social draining quickly. I’m also a hobby photographer so I always have a camera with me and sometimes it occupies most of my time.
I have a dedicated office room , and make sure to take about 2-3 outdoor breaks to walk around, ride my bike or just sit outside…it definitely helps to have a space you can just shut the door and walk away 👍🏼 but I enjoy not being around people every day 🤣

Do you know what brightens my day? Your videos.

The base is amazing and the blush!
I really really enjoy every tutorial of yours!!! Stunning work
Hello Nasia
that blush color is so cute on you! definitely try persimmon on its own soon i think you might like it more than you think!!

i'm so glad you tried the cherub blush, ive been eyeing that shade for the longest time and i finally think i'm sold 😩
You are so beautiful and genuine and talented and honest... Such a delight... I'm always so happy when I get an alert for your uploads... I am totally getting that foundation and mascara
Yet another *beautiful* look! Also, interesting products!! I hope you find your happy spot to edit/work! 💗
Omg the 19/99 brown pencil is my absolute favourite brown liner 😍
I need it lol
The eyes!!! Girl I get so frustrated trying to do my eyes. I just need to practice more!! ❤️

firstly, i was internally screaming during the whole video for you to add some of the persimmon blush shade on top of cherub, and you did at the end i was so happy!!! so stunning
Ohhhh lord this makeup look😍
Such a fun video, Julia!!
Your nails look absolutely gorgeous!
I would LOVE to see a swatch video for the Em Cosmetics lip dew!! Wondering how they compare to the Kosas or Merit lip oils 🧐💚
Looveeee love love this look 😍😍😍
I think a big thing that helped me from not feeling isolated was to take walks, even if it was just around the neighborhood. It helped clear my head a lot and maybe I’d walk by people and start to talk to them so overall it helped
Please do a video on all your favorite makeup brushes! I could use some new ones 🫶🏻
Please do a follow up performance on the Dahlia Foundation!! 😍
Such a beautiful look! It actually looked even more cuter when you added the yellow blush! Can you do a Persephone inspired look once.. Love ya!❤️💜
Can you update om how the foundation wore throughout the day? I'm super interested :) thanks! Love watching your videos
The prettiest girl! Love this color combo 😍 also yes I think a new work space would be fun and better for you. Plus who doesn't love to decorate a new filming space!
ok i am definitely gonna need a swatching party for those lippies. this red shade is speaking to me
Have you tried the Dear Dahlia foundation with the Dear Dahlia powder? Really curious how they would work tgt!
Julia, I love this eye look!
Yes! Key 🔑 working from home is that you have a separate space that you physically have to go to , to actually work.
Also, having an office outside of your home could still be isolating. I mean you would still be by yourself, correct?
Yay kitchen reno!!! Happy for you, even if you’re subtly freaking out inside. 😊
Woww those pencils seemed to blend like a dream!! Would love to try them! Hopefully they ship to Europe 🤞🏻
I really want to try dear dahlia but I'm allergic to basically everything I want to try - it's full of lavender.. same for rituel de fille 🙃
A lovely sleepy brow intermissions
you could try editing outside of your home (parks/coffee shops etc) as a way to routinely be out and around people without putting up rent.
also? you are ethereal, enough is enough
Maya!! Thank you. Yea I think I need to find a cute cafe in the city
Yes look into a pottery class! I have a membership to one and definitely gives me time away from being a mom it’s so much fun!!
Love your nails 💅💗
Also, schedule your breaks and don’t work past your “work day”.
this peachy look is so pretty 🍑🌸
I am dying lip swatches of the everglass lip dews! I am curious how they compare to the Amuse Dew Lips from Korea. The price is similar so please check them out too maybe?
Have you tried working in a cute, not too busy café? Also libraries are my favourite places to get work done but still see some movement around me.
Please try Estée Lauder Futurist hydra rescue - Moisturizing makeup!
I def feel the need to come and go to work to get my mental state to be better. I have been feeling isolated since I just moved so trying to find new friends has been hard. I’ve been in the habit of saying yes to social invitations
for hobby (that i love)
- art classe
- learning new language
- hiking
- biking
- road trip alone
And yes to taking a class!!
So niceee
Xoxo♥️🤗🌻
Any updates on the Faux Filter concealer? You said a bit ago that you were on the fence with it
I had the Laura mercier all that sparkles and paired it with the tinted moisturizer and it was nice but it was way more highlighter than blush.
I’m a librarian and tons of people who WFH come in for a few hours to escape or to simply get work done. It’s a nice, quiet environment AND rent free!
Otherwise my dog gets smothered 🥰
give persimmon a chance!!!! I love it so much and our skintones aren't that different.
💯 get yourself an office… it’s will pay its way forward . Having a space /reason to get up and out of the house helps with the mental battle & isolation. 💜
I’m sure rent is high everywhere so what about having your step dad build a small office shed in your backyard if you have the space? With a small powder room? That also sounds like a good/different video for you to film for us if you were to do that 😅
Or even buying an already built shed?! 💡
Hi 👋🏻 I’m a newbie here I absolutely love your video! Very sweet and real 💕 you don’t see that a lot in the beauty community! 🤗
Beautiful look! Set hours for your office. Whether day or night set hours for when you can be working and see if you still need a separate office. You might try taking your computer out of the house every once in a while to do your work and see if you enjoy it 🤷🏻♀️♥️
I wear Cherub and Persimmon all the time mixed.
I think you should have dedicated days each week you work out of a coffee shop for a dedicated number of hours. Not spur of the moment but planned! ❤️
I checked out your favorite list and didn't see the Auric Luminizer. Is it not one of your favorites anymore?
