Funny how it's not just a fluke pp goal every time, I never saw the actual play overlapped like this. I'm gonna be looking for it now whenever I'm watching
lol lots of fans hated Millers extension and wanted to keep Bo, don't forget. I actually loved the signing and thought Miller was heads and shoulders better than Horvat
@@BUZZNIGHTYEAR99I think the thing is more that the banning regime should never have put the team in such an awful cap situation that we couldn’t resign both of them. OEL and Myers contracts on their own are the reason he couldn’t be resigned. We’re just lucky Alvin was able to make a good trade rather than Bo walking at the end of the season. Nobody thought keeping Miller was a bad idea, fans were just mad that we couldn’t keep both realistically. Again we’ll take hronek though lol.
@@gabefranklin7024 Yes we were in cap hell, but had we signed Horvat to the contract he has now, we would be in no different position than we were previously. Miller proved that he is worth the money. Even if he falls off by the tail end of the contract, it is a fair trade. He's constantly been a top 10 player in the NHL these past few years. Hard to come by at his value. Horvat has a 8.5m aav contract. 500k more than Millers extension, yet his production and influence is nowhere close. If Horvat really wanted to stay, he could have taken less money. Like the Sedins, Bieska, and heck even Miller.
Just an FYI: Miller didn't invent that shootout move. That comes from Jussi Jokinen (who even played for the Canucks one year), who established himself as the first bonafied shoutout specialist when the rule was first implemented. Going wide basically forces the initiative on the goalkeeper. If he commits, pull the puck wide and deke. If he doesn't, shoot it shortside. Jokinen was almost automatic with this move because he always waited for the goalie to make his decision for him.
He's the most underrated player outside of his home fanbase. Almost every expert outside of the fanbase talks about Hughes, Pettersson, Demko, and even Boeser before him when he is the actual best player on the team for 5 years. I get so mad when people talk about Pettersson carrying the team when he's looked disinterested most of the year. This is Hughes' and Miller's team.
A+ video, have noticed this play more this season, sometimes he loops all the way over the blueline into the neutral zone to create the space to accelerate into. I'm pretty sure McDavid is the first guy I ever noticed to do that, but been cool to see Miller add it to his arsenal.
JT Miller produced solid numbers even before he came to Vancouver, but move to Canuks has got the best extracted out of him. Last two seasons over point per game. I haven't care much about Canuks before, but it's difficult not to respect a team that has done seriously good caoching and scouting work in their management. Players body language shows there is positive atmosphere in locker room (unlike Avs!), and that can carry you long way in the playoffs. Hey you broke 1k of subscribers, congratz man!
Definitely agree he's the best forward for the Canucks. Looks like Canucks made a great decision keeping him over Horvat. All the best to Horvat, but getting Hronek to round out the core was a brilliant move by Allvin.
The fact that they also have 3 bodies in front of the net means the goalie cant see anything but no one is blocking shots, and we always have a guy who is trying to tip that shot if he can see it in time
@@jameskillbot2867 Agreed. This team is good when they're completely healthy but you're almost never healthy entering the finals. The Canucks don't have the depth to be realistic contenders unless everything goes right.
@@zhiwui2114 they absolutely have the forward depth, just not on defense. I don't think losing Hughes would sink the team as Hronek is absolutely capable of stepping up, but it would definitely hurt.
@@zhiwui2114they have the depth. You probablyndont watch canucks. Lafferty on 4th line has 9 goals, joshua has 9 goals, hoglander has 10 goals...what are you watching??
Bro does not have Mackinnon's speed or hands but definitely the toughness. JT Miller is fast and has good hands but Mackinnon is on a whole different planet in those categories.
I agree, EP hasn't looked great from that one timer spot this year. Really hoping he's able to get his rhythm back in the second half of the season and into the playoffs especially!
I'd love to know what parts of the game you think he's lacking in, haha. I think his biggest fault is probably that he's a very emotional guy. And when things aren't going great for him, he seems to spiral. But that emotion is also what makes him so good as well so it's a double edged sword.
@@drumagus2258 His defense is not elite. It used to be the worst in the league a couple years ago and it's definitely gotten better but elite is a massive stretch. I still see him as a liability on defense honestly.
Never said he was the best! Not even on the Canucks. But I don't think you can argue that he's been a top 10 or even arguably a top 5 player in the league this season.
@rajbadesha512 He is 3rd in points in the NHL, driven, dedicated, competitive, emotional, dependable, will powered, focused., driven, consistent, holds teammates accountable. I like Miller because he's so fearless. He has this Ultra mode that he can use when he wants to. I think Tocchet have been great for him.
Yes that's a good description of him, a complete player. Can win faceoffs too.
funny how everyone was saying he had a bad two way game last year
That's the reason why we re-sign Miller and not Bo.

If your team is deep and Petterson is you third best player, you’ve got a fricken wagon of a team!
dont forget he is one the few guy in the league that can still fight.
Yeah him and Big Z.
JT Miller reminds me of Kesler back in the day but much more aggressive with a rugged style of play.
Lol unlike Kesler, he won't sleep with his team mates wives.
