This, Blade, Underworld, Van Helsing, those were times when vampires were beastly and gothic and to be feared. Nowadays i think it was overly romanticised and they were more human and always trying to go against their nature.
When this came out it was freaky because as it was released a few months after Aaliyah's untimely death. It felt like she actually became a vampire and was thus immortalized on film.
I encourage you guys to read the books. Interview with the vampire.the vampire lestat and last but not least the Queen of the Damned.. this movie was beautiful.. but the books are phenomenal. The redhead woman has a twin sister and Marius did not make lestat. Go read the book I tell you 🦇
The creepy guy that made Lestat left him (didn't he?) suicide or ??? he was crazy. Didn't really tell him anything. The way he was made kind of defined him or his search.
You will always be for me the queen of vampiric literature and one of the greatest in fantastic literature in general. You joined the greats such as Bram Stocker, Mary Shelley. Another big thank you for these characters that are Lestat, Louis, Claudia, Armand, Akasha, Marius...who will haunt my mind until the end of my life, or...if I can hope in a dark night, in one of my dearest wishes, a visit from Lestat or Akasha the Queen of the Damned? 🙏🏻 RIP Anne Rice 🖤🖤🖤🌹 "That morning I was not yet a vampire, and I saw my last sunrise. I remember it completely, and yet I can't recall any sunrise before it. I watched its whole magnificence for the last time as if it were the first. And then I said farewell to sun light, and set out to become what I became."...Louis
Why do people still whine about the movie being different from the book? And lestat not played by Tom Cruise? Just enjoy it as what it is and it's re-imagined version, And Stuart Townsend was a true Vampire, it's sad not giving a little credit for what the movie offered. And imo this was the last good vampire movie and character
Marius never made lestat , secondly he's made by another in France. The director didn't read the damn book. Somethings I don't mind if they mess up like very small things, but really.
It's the budget and time allot into the movie. For example, if the book mentioned an armies of 100,000 with 5 generals, then cartoon will have 10.000 with 3 generals and finally to movie with army of 100 with CGI and 1 general. That is the limitation from book to movies, the more actors, the more scene will result into more money to spend and longer time to product.
He read the book they just decided not to copy it. Anne Rice tried to put a stop to it and have them do “The Vampire Lestat” but she was unable to. I am so happy I watched this movie b4 reading the book b/c I would have been pissed at the changes that they did
I only watched "Interview with a vampire" (last night) and I actually liked the movie... But this one.. Wasn't Antonio Banderas the one that made Lestat?
Brian Griffin Actually Magnus (a totally different vampire) gave the dark gift to Lestat and then burned himself to death. Lestat never got over being left behind without any answers. The movie "Queen of the Damned" is a wild mix out of book 2 and 3 of the Vampire Chronicles but changed so much it hurts. :( All these pissed off vampires hating on each other in the movie annoy me... In the books they feel a great bond when they meet again after such a long time. Just like a big family on Christmas Eve. I read somewhere that the movie makers chased Anne Rice off the set because she protested against all the drastical changes.
Sure, it's the same type of iniciation, a vampire host feeding his chosen for the first time. And it's actually Lestat in that position, whereas he would be the master in Interview With the Vampire ("the", not "a").
Not exactly. "Interview" was pretty much spot-on true to the book because Anne Rice wrote the screenplay herself but the only similarities between the movie "Queen of the Damned" and the books are the characters' names. Literally everything else was changed. For one, Marius didn't make Lestat, Magnus did. Lestat didn't meet Marius for at least a year after he was made. Also, Lestat is blonde.
The only major differences I remember were it being Louis's brother who died in the book, not a wife and child, Lestat making a third vampire who attacked Claudia with him, Lestat being at the Theatre des Vampires, and Louis biting the interviewer at the end. I haven't read "Interview" in a while (it's honestly my least favorite of the Chronicles; Louis was just so WHINY), so I might not remember everything, but you're right in that the story wasn't affected in any huge way.
Lestat was made by Magnus and by Marius, so many inconsistency, they should have followed what book says especially Lestats story coz hes the main character..

I don’t know about it gettin big, given with the plot and the deleted scenes. I think the outcome would’ve been the same cause for me those are the foundation of creating a good movie.
Never seen a movie that was so far from a book. Screenwriters thought they can do a better job than Ann Rice and they were wrong. I do not think Towsend was bad as Lestat, but the movie desperately needed Ann's blessing and guidance.
Poor lestat he hated eternity after awhile he ended up bored and alone no wonder he cause trouble but he got Jesse in the end now he's not alone I don't care what anyone thinks of lestat and Jesse I love them together
I wish that I would be a vampire and live forever because I don't want to get old and die in my sleep because even though in the movie queen of the damned it's only a part of the movie I know that it's all part of this circle of life
Thank you for your comment about queen of the damned and yes I wish that I would be immortal and that I would live forever and I qou never get old I stay beautiful and young and most of all I would have speed strength and the ability to fly I really want to fly like in the day and at night and I would save everybody from being attacked by some murderers who would kill a lot of innocent people or civilians it would make me happy to save everybody

I like twilight but this made me laugh regardless

What if The Sun were bitten by a Vampire?
What if a God?
What would THAT look like?
They sucked the blood right out of this genre
@@dannywang4543 They just *sucked!* Period.
My question is what the hell does vampire blood taste like to make it so addicting for a mortals to keep drinking it..
Power!!!!
I think it's more the feeling than taste, most vampire lore describes it like a drug/euphoric effect, releases powerful endorphins is my guess
It was the 90s so.. probably Surge. Lol
Power strength like a super drug that hits every signal neurologically center to make it where you just give in
