Much of the culture do not like showing the truth of the things blacks have suffered under the heel of this system of injustice. What happened to Emmett Till is still taking place under the color of authority in some areas.

@Teddy300 so because they didn't know the whole story, and Elijah resisted in the beginning, he deserved to be choked, passed out, wake up, choked again, all while hand cuffed, then aspirating unconscious and injected with a drug, two heart attacks, brain dead and death because he didn't STOP immediately. Make sure you follow all the "Simon says commands" of life, bc you believe a false move deserves death penalty. Smh.

What's disturbing to me about this case is that, police requested emt assistance and they arrived and injected Elijah with ketamine to sedate him and hadn't properly assessed his condition or any potential adverse effects or reactions from the combination of ketamine with any other medications he may have been prescribed!
That sounds like not just racial profiling, but also medical negligence and or malpractice by everyone involved!

These cops need college and classes on communication, anger management, and community service. They need to know their community and stop the judging and using violence. Why did Elijah need to be in handcuffs? He did not have to be restrained. It makes me so sad. His innocence and life taken away from him because of ignorance, by a group of men (who are supposed to protect him) who can’t communicate. Instead you want to fight and kill. My heart is hurting for Elijah and his mom and family. I can't imagine living with the horrific pain they are having to bear. I agree that police should be trained in dealing with special people like Elijah. But watching videos of the entire episode, I don't think those cops are trainable. If they just listened to everything Elijah was saying they should have realized that this in no way a man who is capable of any wrongdoing, never mind committing any crime. They conducted themselves like stupid, ignorant, incompetent, evil thugs. And what is worse is that they think their badges give them the liberty to behave like this.

@Celeste Peterson The thing is, other people need to learn, especially the police. Autism is what it is, you can't change them and you shouldn't have to but the fear of society for these kids is very real. I'm lucky, my daughter is very young and she's growing up in a more enlightened society where kids are taught about these things. It's the adults that are ignorant.

I also saw a lack of empathy on their part, nor even a serious effort at conversation. The officers escalated to force very quickly -- in my opinion, too quickly. I think the young man made a mistake to resist arrest. I cannot say whether or not he grabbed at a gun. Video not clear on that. What I did see was that the force (imo) turned excessive and stayed so even after he clearly no longer presented a viable threat. Deeply troubling, and the episode with the medic just adds to it. Add to that further, the issues with the body cams. If he were a family member of mine, I would be suing the police. An entirely preventable and unnecessary tragedy.

As a mother, these stories leave me drained. What is wrong with the police, what is wrong with the people who witness these killings on the street, why do people not speak up and intervene? I'd rather die trying, than to stand by and watch another mother bury her child. It's messed up!

He was a gentle angelic kind soul and these thug gangster cops snuffed him out like he was a bug. They laughed about it while they were doing it. If you need volunteers for the firing squad for these beasts when they are brought to justice, count me in. I could do it. I could pull the trigger on each one of them. I've never been more angered or sickened in my entire life. RIP You poor sweet soul Elijah McClain. "My name is Elijah McClain, I'm different. I can't breathe."

Elijah dying was senseless. I have set of twins that have Asperger's Syndrome and I could see that in Elijah. He shouldn't have died, he shouldn't hav been restrained and definitely should not have been injected with a sedative. Hearing him tell the cops that he was different and an introvert reminded me of my boys. Someone needs to be charged for this death. I think the EMT's that injected him and the police officers for handling Elijah like they did. RIP Sweet Elijah. So so sorry 😞 💔

    • @debrajanzen6661

I think Elijah had Asperger's. I think he wore the mask because it was comforting and warm. How could police have thought he was any kind of threat. He shuffled when he walked. IF you hear the tapes, one officer thinks he is on something. For gosh sakes. He kept trying to tell them he was different but they would not listen. they just kept attacking him. Shameful.

    Elijah McClain last words
I can’t breathe. I have my ID right here. My name is Elijah McClain. That’s my house. I was just going home. I’m an introvert. I’m just different. That’s all. I’m so sorry. I have no gun. I don’t do that stuff. I don’t do any fighting. Why are you attacking me? I don’t even kill flies! I don’t eat meat! But I don’t judge people, I don’t judge people who do eat meat. Forgive me. All I was trying to do was become better. I will do it. I will do anything. Sacrifice my identity, I’ll do it. You all are phenomenal. You are beautiful and I love you. Try to forgive me. I’m a mood Gemini. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Ow, that really hurt. You are all very strong. Teamwork makes the dream work. Oh, I’m sorry I wasn’t trying to do that. I just can’t breathe correctly.
Please don’t let the bootlickers/Racist, destroy the character of this bright young man who was a massage therapist, and help out at the animal shelter by playing violin to calm the animals do!.
RIP Elijah McClain you deserved to be treated like human, but the officers only saw a criminal, and took that right away from you. So Hopefully Colorados second chance to get it right now, and show the world and your mother that your life matter, that Black Lives Matter!!!

Every nation in which people with special needs end up being killed by the system is not a civilized nation.
Those people are different and beautiful inside. They are like rays of light that you never really noticed ... my cousin is one of them and I love him because he always makes me recognize how wonderful life is... He is fascinated by small things like the wrinkles on a plastic-bag and i watch it with him... And he is so right!
If I just imagine ANYONE grab him in a harsh way ... I get pumped up... I would go to jail because i would fu.k this person up hard ... Doesn´t matter if he/she is a cop or the queen

That could’ve easily been me. I’m an introvert too. There’s nothing wrong with being different, but there are those that would have you believe something different. The fact that it was swept under the rug makes it hurt worse. How much is a Black man’s life really worth if gross injustices like this can take it away so easily??

We're expected to believe that the caller is just an innocent observing community member right??? And ignore the fact that they pay their trainees to walk and call 9 - 1-1 dispatchers to initiate this behavior…… ^CageTheMurd-erersTheyAreAnimals^
