When it comes to ads, there is a valid reason to use an adblocker. There are malware which are spread through ads. This is what is called malvertising, and those "ads" can either contain actual malicious code, be misleading or be tech support scams. As a content creator on youtube, the best way is for you to either have ads that you yourself discuss in your videos; otherwise, you can also create a Patreon for yourself.
@@TheWhiteBamba This is the main reason I use an ad blocker. That and poorly written javascript that has a memory leak. It was so common that my browser crashed daily... and often locked up my system as well and forced me to perform a hard reboot. That can cause data loss so I consider it unintentional malware.
As soon as I heard a Honey sponsor I thought "They're just pitching a cookie harvester to the audience now?" Usually you download an undeleteable toolbar and get cool speed trail cursors with that.
Thank you for having the courage the cover this Breone. I used to watch Linus before. Shame on him for not sounding the alarm earlier. I believe he and his team have zero integrity.
Contract law doesnt apply to anyone who never agreed to thevcontract. Its possible that honey limited this behavior to affiliate links of content providers who had accepted their sponsorship but if they didnt then they had no agreement with that creator and replacing the affiliate link can only be seen as theft. IMO.
Honey was sus to me. i had it for a little bit But it didn't work right and I didn't know why or what was wrong with it and so I just got rid of it. I mean now kind of make sense
If something is too good to be true, it is.

Can't say I'm not surprised. Honey always seemed "fishy" to me but I could never really figure out why.

After I saw the video which debunked honey I was waiting to see a video with this title. Seems like I've waited long enough
Was a little late but it still got put out lol
If you earned anything via affiliated links, you got scamed, likely 10-20% of your actual earning went to honey and similar scams.
