Say whatever you want about Morrisey but this man paints dreams with his words. One of my favourite and most poignant songs that's a huge part of my life.
My wife and I saw him in May of 2019 on Broadway and he performed this , he seemed rather emotional about it. He and his band were brilliant that night
He's earned the right to be thoughtful; he's earned the right to be melancholic. This is a lovely performance. Just enjoy it. This was our time. Thank you SPM
No he doesn't. I say. Stick to pre 99. And you'll do just fine. Anything after that, sucks. Zero energy. Zero emotion. Ps NO ONE LOVES MANCHESTER. Why you think he dam lives in LA LA LAND because Britain has now deliberately become a poverty Slum. The new-lost Detroit. With even less money
I think he looks unhappy and lonely up there. He’s lost the joyful spark he once had. I guess in part it was youth, and now he’s old, but there’s something more. His art always lived on the narrow line between love and optimism on the one side and a sense that the world is irredeemably bad on the other. He’s now locked in the latter, and it’s sad to see.
Likely because he's suffering cognitive dissonance. You want to read what he did on Wikipedia. Far out! For all his high minded morals I was shocked. I'll never look at him the same way again - EVER.
I wonder why he always skips the ending (the best part, imo) when he does this live... I want the freedom and I want the guile I want the freedom and the guile Oh, life tends to come and go As long as you know Know, know, know, know Know, know, know, know Oh... I won't share you, no I won't share you I'll see you somewhere I'll see you sometime Darling...
I was there last night. Strangest Morrissey show I've ever been to. Morrissey made it Crystal Clear to his audience his feelings on the impending Brexit situation , right down to every song selection. I GUARANTEE you he sang this one for England--"I won't Share You"....come on. All night he was carrying on between songs as such, he seemed downright defiant towards us (the audience) in the knowledge that SoCal is NOT happy about Brexit--and that HE definitely IS. At one point he copped a devil-may-care attitude towards us, informing us to "Buy the new cover album....or don't--he doesn't care.". He SURELY was sore about making the front page of the L.A. Times Calendar section the night before--and not in a good way, as the paper RIPPED him for his Brexit views and declaring how he is most certainly distancing himself from his fan base by being Pro-Separatist. And then there's his most telling song selection, so many of which one could EASILY apply to his defiant attitude as such--you KNOW he chose them consciously tonight. The show was so slow-paced and packed with attitude on his part that by halfway through his set, I went out for a beer and witnessed many, many people....LEAVING. WOW. This show was epic last night for its....limpness and attitude. Morrissey with a chip on his shoulder, (more-so than usual). I love than man. But the show ended on such a pathetic wimper, Boos could be made out. Very sad in a way.
Moz has always been an old, cantankerous man (even when he was a young cantankerous man). He has good nights and bad nights that can have little to do with the crowd or what's going on in the world politically. That chip on his shoulder? It's been there since 1982 and it's not going anywhere. It boggles the mind that people are just starting to notice it. Did he sprinkle some glitter on it last night or something? Did the light hit it just right? I've seen the guy many times live and on this tour (at the Ohio date, maybe one of the smallest crowds of the tour) he put on an amazing show and gave it his all (whatever that is at this point in his career). The date of the show was 9/11 and he mentioned first responders and basically told the crowd to take care of one another. Very apolitical (almost oddly so compared to past shows I've seen). That was the last stop of the tour also....unfortunate for the fans in LA but the truth is that he's not a pup anymore and a few months on the road wears the guy down. The world has changed. Morrissey hasn't. I think it chaps certain fans to realize who they've been supporting and fawning over all these years. He's worn his nationalism on his sleeve since The Smiths. Sometimes you have to separate the art from the artist and enjoy the work for what it is without trying to piece it together into some kind of political event.
It would be a step forward if we agreed that every man is allowed to have their own view and freedom of speech. I adore Morrissey whether or not I agree with his beliefs.
Around about the time that this was filmed he had a new album coming out and The Guardian contacted every single person who had worked on it and tried to shame them into condemning him.
'I KNOW ITS OVER. GET OFF THE STAGE'. Would be more obvious. Terrible performances. And that's what its now become. It was possibly lively decades ago. But it's fking embarrassing now.
Embarrassing nothing, the song is not for or about you. So, you go ahead and share WHO YOU WANT. I love him but he makes Me anxious so, this is HIS TIME (aNd, eVen MORR, we will talk about him later...) because I need to make My Way (The Way) back home aNd🕊 learn🕊 to🕊 fly🕊😊🕊😊🕊😊🕊
One of the greatest musicians in history in my book

One of the Smiths' best songs. imho
Thanks Johnny Marr...!!
Is the last song record of the smiths. Mike joyce explain that he cry when they record. Morrissey is a legend. I think hes very sad now
Is there a video of that or is it written somewhere?
Last track on the last Smiths LP. Always a fave.
He sounds incredible

My favourite song of all time
Por años esta canción ha sido como la vida misma ora mi
such a great artist
Great show and real cool he changed up the setlist from Irvine. I was up in that pool mix enjoying every fucking second of it.
Beautiful.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man..
@@fliptag exactly - and it's also his older persona. He still sounds great. I saw this show and then also the one in Vegas last week
That's a devastatingly sad thought. I really wish you are wrong but you've likely hit the nail on the head
Morrissey has lever looked happy
Likely because he's suffering cognitive dissonance. You want to read what he did on Wikipedia. Far out! For all his high minded morals I was shocked. I'll never look at him the same way again - EVER.
Wonderful
Magnificent histrion...
This final part killed me 😢
Thanks
i love you and i miss you.
THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you for this post ..I was at the show last night .. have a great day
just remember he wrote this about johnny 🥺🥺
He wants his guitarist back😭😭
I wonder why he always skips the ending (the best part, imo) when he does this live...
I want the freedom and I want the guile
I want the freedom and the guile
Oh, life tends to come and go
As long as you know
Know, know, know, know
Know, know, know, know
Oh...
I won't share you, no
I won't share you
I'll see you somewhere
I'll see you sometime
Darling...
Wesley Goo look at his face, it's too painful 💔
This song is about Johnny Marr
Because of johnny
It's about Johnny. That's the beauty. Morrissey may say lots of shit, but he remains true to do those he love.
@@fliptag morrisey say a lot of good things about jonhhy in his book, the love is there but also de hate
😍
Does it say something on his palms when he holds them up?

Thanks for your thoughts and reportage.. from another 'conflicted' Moz fan over in Blighty!

@@doomrat Cheers and yes! to everything you say. Moz is a Taurus of course. (Which explains everything!)...
It would be a step forward if we agreed that every man is allowed to have their own view and freedom of speech. I adore Morrissey whether or not I agree with his beliefs.
So you are against Morrissey Brexit views? Our liberal newspapers do not represent all of So Cal and neither do you. Respect other peoples views mate.
he looks sad :(
So sad , just like is heart is broken ...
Does anyone have a link to the shirt the drummer is wearing? I’d love to buy it.
Its Lucille ball
In all honesty, I think when Morrissey passes, that'll be the only time I'll cry for a celebrity's death
Moz se la escribio a Johnny?
No hay nada confirmado pero por la letra casi seguro que sí
Wrong trousers Steven, LOL
You didn’t sing the high notes at the end.

Does that say 'Fuck The Guardian'? Ha! I concur.
Around about the time that this was filmed he had a new album coming out and The Guardian contacted every single person who had worked on it and tried to shame them into condemning him.
Basically he's saying "Speak out against Wokism and the Marxist take-over of our culture." Morrissey was, is, and always will be Hero.
And his explicitly isolationist anti immigrant political position.
Yes because illegal unregulated mass global immigration is working out just fine.
Maybe he skips it because it's too painful to sing
Speak out get booted from my concerts LoL 😂
His voice is not what it once was
Is yours ?
