I don't understand her words, but I can feel the emotion behind them. What a beautiful voice this woman has! I want to learn Farsi just so I can understand Googoosh's music. I wish only peace, love, happiness, friendship, and good health to the Iranian people during this frightening and uncertain time. Maybe someday - once this pandemic is over and after diplomacy is restored between our nations - I will be able to visit Iran. I would like to pay my respects at the final resting place of the honorable Prime Minister Mossadegh. I would love to have an opportunity to see the ruins of Persepolis, the Shah Sheragh Mosque, and the Zoroastrian fire temples with my own eyes. Pictures just aren't good enough! Despite the anti-Iranian propaganda, I know that Iran is a place of amazing history and great beauty. I want to find out if it's true that Iranian saffron, pistachios, and pomegranates are the most delicious in the world. I want to jump over fires during Nowruz. I hope I get to experience the legendary Persian hospitality for myself someday. Thank you for sharing Googoosh with this American girl from New Jersey. Music is universal. Our governments may be enemies, but there's no reason for the ordinary Iranian and American civilians to hate one another. Let our leaders argue if they must - we can share delicious Ghormeh Sabzi and apple pie without them.
What everybody knows in the world that Iranian people hate their fanatic government as they have been kept isolated from rest of the world. It is true that Iranian are the kindest people in the world and they love American.
@@khalidmashaer1790Ironically, the person who inspired my interest in Iranian/Persian culture and history is an Iranian-American woman who no longer has much interest in ANYTHING related to her Iranian heritage. She will probably never visit the country of her birth again. She's more likely to have Chicken Marsala simmering on her kitchen stove than Gormeh Sabzeh. She has little interest in Nowruz traditions or celebrations. She didn't even bother to teach her sons how to speak Farsi when they were children. Obviously, this Iranian-born woman has become completely Americanized over the years (I mean that as an observation, not an insult), but when I first met her 30+ years ago, she still had a soft spot for the country of her youth and she would periodically return to Iran to visit the family members who remained there after the Iranian Revolution. I met her back when I was going through my difficult, angry, and bitchy teenage phase. While this woman was from my parent's generation - she was so unlike most of the adults I knew. She actually listened to me, understood me, and showed compassion. She was patient, empathetic, and kind. She didn't yell and she didn't judge. There was something fascinating about this kind, classy, beautiful, intelligent, and dignified woman. And since she was the only Iranian person I had ever met, I wanted to know her story. I was curious about her childhood in Iran. I asked her so many questions. I had to know more about this place that the newsman called "eye-ran" .... a place that was supposedly overflowing with "terrorists" who hated Americans. I remember wondering how this lovely, gentle woman could come from such an "evil" place. It just didn't make sense! When she talked about Iranian people, she made them sound like they were the nicest people on Earth. (Though she certainly didn't have any kind words to say about Iran's Islamic government.) Anyway, this lovely Iranian woman whom I looked up to when I was as a teenager (and who sparked my curiosity about Iran) became my aunt when she married my uncle 30 years ago. It doesn't matter to me that she's my aunt-by-marriage and not my aunt-by-blood - she's family, And even though she's become as American as apple pie over the decades, her Iranian hospitality and generosity never went away. She definitely holds a special place in my heart.
@@Hd-nz6pg Hello, Hossein Dehghan. Do you live in Iran? Or did you emigrate elsewhere? My aunt (uncle's wife) is originally from Iran. She was born there in the 60's and came to the USA with her parents and brothers around the time Ayatollah Khomeini returned to Iran from his exile in France. I was a teenager when she joined our family 30+/- years ago. At the time, she was the first and only Iranian person I had ever met. She made a very positive impression on me because she was so different from most of the other adults in my life ("different" in a good way). Before she joined the family, my only exposure to Iran/Iranians came from the media - and none of it was positive. My aunt was (and still is) a very interesting, kind, warm, loving, compassionate, classy, smart, and hardworking woman. I've always admired her and I'm happy she became my aunt. I don't see her as often as I'd like, but it's always a pleasure when I do get to spend time with her and talk to her. The last time I saw her, I greeted her and offered her coffee or tea - not in English, but in Farsi. The look on her face was priceless!. I don't think I would have become interested in Iran if it weren't for my aunt. As an American teenager who had never left North America, hearing about my aunt's pre-1979 childhood in Iran fascinated me. I'm curious by nature (okay, nosy as hell) so I've always enjoyed learning about world history and different cultures. I've always asked a lot of questions - probably too many! When I was about 7 or 8 years old, developed a preoccupation with Ancient Egypt (mummies, artifacts, heiroglyphics, pharaohs, mythology, pyramids). I would read the Ancient Egypt section of my encyclopedia over and over again. This strange obsession lasted well into my 20's - until it was overtaken by a new interest: The Persian Empire. (Unfortunately I'm still stuck with the stupid heiroglyphic tattoos I got when I was 18.) Even though my aunt and I never actually discussed topics like Ancient Persia or Zoroastrianism or Prime Minister Mossadegh (whom I admire immensely) or the Sunni/Shia divide, I give her credit for sparking my interest in Iran. Once my curiosity was piqued, I slowly familiarized myself with other Persian/Iranian topics. The more I learned, the more I wanted to know. Most of my knowledge comes from reading books, searching the internet, exchanging countless e-mails and text messages with my English-speaking pen-pal from Tehran, and asking a lot of questions whenever I meet Iranian-American people. So my aunt was the reason I originally became interested in Iran, but I remained interested in Iran once I became aware of its fascinating history and culture. I'm a construction worker (ironworker/welder). I may not have a college degree, but I still value education. Sometimes I wish I had gone to school to become an anthropologist, but I'm content with the job I have for now. If I had learned about the world from a bunch of professors, I might have adopted their biases. At least self-study is free from academia's biases. So in my free time, I'll continue to educate myself about world history (ancient and modern), political science, the evolution of languages, religious beliefs/practices around the world, and of course, things like regional cultures, customs, culinary traditions, and architecture. And if the American and Iranian governments ever restore diplomatic ties, I want to take a tour of Iran - Persepolis, Isfahan, Tehran, Kish, the Alborz Mountains - even if I have to sell a kidney in order to pay for it!

Serwan, Kurdish music and Persian music are not that different in case you don't know. The Kurds really want to separate from Iran and talk bad behind Iran and Persians, but they don't know that at the end of the day, their ethnicity is of Iranic decent. So our language & culture is more similar than you might think. So it's called Iranian music, not Kurdish or Persian.

Don't make me upset myself, don't make me fear the world I owe all my happiness to your embrace. If you are hurt too, then don't burn me like burning a paper. Feel me, 'cause I miss you, bare with me 'cause I'm broken. I hope there never comes a day that I would not be one of the two shadows on the wall. Don't say "it's getting late", so soon! Don't leave me alone with God. (Another word used for saying goodbye in Farsi is Khodahafez which literally means: God bless you(god keep u safe), that's why it says in the song that don't leave me alone with God] There is a place in your heart that was once my home. Don't say it's getting late this soon! Don't say goodbye this soon! Feeling so free yet I'm sitting in a prison cell. An old sorrow, as if I'm amidst the rain and clouds. I'm frozen inside without you, shine on me, I'm cold, I'm winter. Wrap your arms around me like the old days. There is a place in your heart that was once my home. Don't say it's getting late this soon! Don't say goodbye this soon! There is a place in your heart that was once my home. Don't say it's too late, so soon! Don't say goodbye, so soon!

I am extremely proud of Googoosh in general…..Now I have yet another reason to praise her. She is a humanitarian, like myself. She is always breaking new ground and helping various causes. In Iran….if the government officials discover you are homosexual…you shall be killed. We must band together to stop such atrocities. Thank you, my darling Googoosh, for being a spearhead and drawing attention to this. You are , and have always been ahead of your time.

Your voice is amazing and unbelievable! Even I am Kurd and our music is fine but I love Persian songs too much.

@@dici8783 no it's different and kurds built iran, and kurdish music is so different, kurdish culture is so rich.

Don't make me upset myself, don't make me fear the world
I owe all my happiness to your embrace.
(Another word used for saying goodbye in Farsi is Khodahafez which literally means: God bless you(god keep u safe), that's why it says in the song that don't leave me alone with God]
There is a place in your heart that was once my home.
Don't say it's getting late this soon! Don't say goodbye this soon!
With love from Russia 🇹🇯🇷🇺
Googoosh breaks ground….taboos…and draws focus into the deeply hidden and unaccepted lifestyle of homosexuality ….. in Iran and the rest of the World. I love you for your sincere efforts to try and help your people and the world. It takes one person…..one action….to cause Change. We must regain our Country! Together, banded together we can… My Love and Warmest Regards Always, Ambassador Stephie Pahlavi Zan Googoosh “Behesht”
Do you have a plan about how to do it?
Dear Googoosh, I write this with tears in my eyes. I visited your channel to hear you latest work and imagine my excitement when I saw that you had a new video uploaded. I am AMAZED, not only at your beautiful singing, the touching song, and the wonderful cinematography but most of all at your acting. I was surprised to see you were the mother - which you played with such sensitivity. Thank you Googoosh for such a sensitive and magical reminder of the sacrifices we make for love. THANK YOU
