Theres absolute bots who don't know the most basic shit about how to play the game and theres also fucking demons that have no right being in the same lobbies, every game is a coinflip if the bots are on your team or the other team

The highest rank you could place was asc 1 after the matches so you placed as good as possible.
It’s actually predefined , he could of lost all 5 placements and placed asc 1
@@floresv336 It's not predefined, it's just how the hidden mmr system works. You have your visible mmr and rank, and then you have your hidden mmr, which takes longer to change. As an example, you could be in gold for 2 years, then someone starts playing on your acc and gets to Radiant in an act, you'll still end up being plat at most during placements if you win all, due to your hidden mmr staying around gold, since you spend 99% of your time there.
Same applies here, his hidden mmr is still in Radiant, hence why he gets matched against other players who were Radiant before, and not the Diamond/Asc players that placed in Ascendant too, due to their actual hidden mmr being way different. That's why it's so fucking annoying being Radiant after a reset, I get to play against top 100 players just to fight my way out of ascendant, or until my hidden mmr falls low enough so I start getting matched against top1k instead. Although on the other hand, your visible rank is always leaning towards your hidden mmr, so in this situation, you'd be getting 50pts per win, and losing 5-10 per loss. That equals out the more games go on, and the less the gap between your hidden and visible mmr are.
So simply put - no, it's not predefined. Yes, you'd get asc1 whatever you did, but placement matches count way more towards your mmr, and losing all 5 would make you play against top1k players and gain about 30-40pts per win instead of 50 while playing against top300~ players. There's more to the system then they show you on the surface, which is the reason you have so many ppl complaining about their accounts being cursed and stuck and so on - it's because the more complex algorithm actually determined that you don't play consistently well to be in let's say platinum, even though you might be playing out of your mind for the past week, you'll climb slower then if you just made a new account.

@@dep2460 There's 2 ranks - 1 hidden, 1 visible. The visible one changes faster, the hidden one slower. Imagine an elastic rope tying them, and the hidden rank being a bigger weight, that's basically the concept. You move your visible rank 3 divisions above, the hidden rank gets tugged and moves 1 division above.
The reset rank is mostly determined by the hidden rank, the more consistent one. That's about as simple as I'm capable of explaining it, I'm sure you can research a bit more if you're interested.
