Karunbithil Shibira 2022 Official Highlights Video

After a 2 year hiatus, we had the joy of conducting the 21st Karunbithil Shibira (Rural Music Workshop) between May 8th and May 12th of this year at our ancestral home near Dharmasthala!
Here is a brief of the events from the Shibira:
Dr. Rajkumar Bharathi, the main resource person this year, shared his vidwat on the various aspects of our music system and taught Kruthis on Lord Manjunatha
Our Guru, Sri Hosahalli Venkatram sir presented a scintillating violin concert with four of his disciples
His Holiness Sri Sri Sachidananda Bharathi Swamiji of Edneer Mutt, graced our Shibira and blessed all the participants
Kruthi Bhat and Vittal Rangan presented a special vocal and violin duo concert
Yakshagana Vaibhava by Patla Sri Sathish Shetty highlighting one of the regional traditional art forms
On the final day, all the Shibira students presented the compositions they had learnt during the week, to an encouraging audience of dignitaries and connoisseurs.
The presence of artists such as Udupi Gopalakrishna, Poovalur Sriji, K U Jayachandra Rao, B C Manjunath and H V Raghuram added to the funfair and learning. Nithyananda Rao, Himamshu, Mrs & Mr M L Samaga, Seetharama Tholpadithaya, Krishna Singh, Lakshminarayana Bhat and many others also graced the occasion.
We are grateful to all the artists and the teachers for imparting their knowledge and experience; Our sincere thanks to the participants, their parents, our friends and relatives who thoughtfully supported us in the event.
