Yeah, he's either: 1. Homeless and sleeping there 2. Looking for possible valueable stuff to steal and sell He is clearly uncomfortable in his facial expression and voice when confronted. Very abnormal for a person like that to walk into an anbondoned place alone (without documenting it) at 1am just to "look around", carrying a grocery bag. I'd bet his name isn't Brant either.
Muzik Bike - Geometry Dash and stuff not legal. some people do sell scrap metal though im pretty sure. theres not much in most abandoned places ive been to though.
I'm surprised that a mall would be abandoned for so long and that the owners wouldn't question why there was a high power bill for an abandoned mall where everything was supposed to be turned off.
it would be so cool, if there would be a mall that would be abandoned and it had a nike store, champs, etc. and it had most of the things in there - up for grabs! :D
15:30 Either there are other retail outlet's still open around this abandoned mall at 1am, or he's homeless. He had like two bags in his hands. He didn't have the appearance of someone you'd picture as homeless, but he might have been. Kind of strange to carry bags into an abandoned mall like that. Poor guy seems nice enough. Just down on his luck. Kind of sad to see people like that. Maybe he has a drug problem. Maybe not. It's always intriguing to dive into what other peoples life may be like.
Great video! I've only encountered one abandoned building I've explored where the power was on in one small part of it, which was a former hospital in Gary, IN. Police station occupies the other half of it that's separated from the abandoned portion(though not so much the power inside the abandoned part), and that's why it isn't totally off. Surprisingly enough years ago when I explored it, an urbex friend secured permission from Gary Police for myself and a bunch of others to all get in there that day! Believe you still could get in there if you want to, but I have no idea how that place is today.
Funny thing is, this mall was supposed to be demolished not long after this video was released. To this day ( at least when I wrote this comment ) it's still standing. And I hope for a long time as well.
That was really good, reminds me of something I would have done in my younger days. The sound design (intentional or not) reminded me of One Hour Photo and some of the eeriest parts came when you heard nothing at all.
I don't see an issue with the homeless sleeping in these abandoned places at least the place isn't torn down for nothing I think the reason why the lights aren't turn off is the fact that owner cares about the homeless people and want to let them stay their or he's just want people out with lights being out
What a wonderful use of this and many more abandoned malls it would be would be to turn it into a thriving housing development, I mean, all of the infrastructure is already there. Convert one of the larger spaces into a grocery store, maybe even a bank outlet, a pharmacy/dry cleaners/salon, all under one roof.
I use to work at a shop in a mall. I worked afternoons, so I would be there until an hour after the mall closed because we would have to stay late to get inventory and stuff done. It would get really creepy at night. Walking through the mall after closing time always gave me the feeling that something bad was going to happen and no one would be around to help me. I knew nothing was going to happen, it was just a feeling I got. I ended up parking closer to the area where I was working so I wouldn't have to walk all the way to the other end of the mall to get to my car. We weren't supposed to do that, but we could get away with it as long as it didn't cause any problems for shoppers. This video brings back a lot of memories for me.
The things in their are worth so much money...cant believe the power is still on (FREE) and people are still paying power bills. On another note....That place would make a awesome man cave.
+Jesse Bains there are still anchors and the building is (was?) owned by Walmart. They were going to demo it but pulled out of the project as of 2-3 days ago.
Seems like Brent here isnt there for what he says he was there for. I recon drug use. (He isnt equiped to steal mutch nor for urbex) (Good place for shooting up at night , has electricity and isnt completly trashed, typical of a family man drug user, look at his eyes , he under influence) :p
No one seen that sword on the floor in the room b4 the room with the small knife on the cabinet he should of picked up for protection the place was booby trapped by old buddy he's an opportunist killer and there was also a shooting target in the 1st theater they went in on the left wall... that's where I felt like they would of gotten got if they didn't have their cameras on... its sound proof in there he was crunk till he seen the cameras notice first thing the guy said was about the cameras he was ready to attack!! Y'all very lucky great video enjoyed it hope y'all packing during your explorations
Hey Cody! I hope you never stop exploring. I have been watching you ever cents i got youtube. I enjoy watching you and your friends explore awesome places that i've never even heard of! Thank you for giving me a good time. -Harry
kinda angers me to see how much people mess it up. it would be surreal and cool to see it still in-tact abandoned... but no people have to break everything and loot...
Anybody know the name of this mall? I'd like to find out more about it & a back story to why it closed. Abandoned malls always have reasons why they close like low visitation, the area turns into a "bad part of town" , economy downfall, stores moving, poor security, etc.
+Exploring With Cody I like your vids better, because you show us more of what you are seeing.... & we are not being shown your reaction to what you are seeing, while you admire yourself. Good job! Don't you love Dan Bell? He is the best!!!!
Anyone know if this is Rolling Acres mall? It looks like it and I just watched an interesting video on it and remembered what the mall in Exploring With Josh's video and they look very similar.
As i watch this i was scrolling through the tv and abandoned is on viceland and they are doing a "ghost mall" episode looking for ghosts in one of the malls im pretty sure Dan did(Rolling Acres). One of the guys pissed in one of the plant displays and remembering how much of a thing Dan has for mall plants i thought "what a fuckin dickbag pissing on the plants".
The hoyts closed years before the mall they auctioned off the seats an screen. Newer mall on the other side of town an this side of town had changing demographics
Comes back for "the memories" has a plastic bag full of stuff he's found 😂
Lucas Peralta more likely booze
Guy is homeless clearly, but didn't want to admit. Not all homeless are dirty and haggard. A guy "reminiscing" at 1AM? Sure....
Who?
The random bald guy they ran into at 1 AM, carrying the bag
+Jad was here He's at the 15:35 mark
Megan Halliburton oh i probably zoned out at that time
Yeah, he's either:

Now I want to go to an abandoned game stop and steal their steam gift cards
They need to be activated before they can be used...
DAMN YOU GABEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ring it on the register.
+Korbin Rock Mabey it'd s broken
+WolfaDOX Or you can scam someone cx
they left so much valuable stuff... jackpot for homeless
yeha haha
I can so see that as a job, raiding abandoned places and selling their stock (if in date).
Would that even be legal?
you should google that, some place might be legal some not for sure I think
Muzik Bike - Geometry Dash and stuff not legal. some people do sell scrap metal though im pretty sure. theres not much in most abandoned places ive been to though.
Could have gotten mtn dew.....
I used to work there at that neon store and we sold party supplies and dj stuff
Jack Everitt sounds lit
"look at this food restaurant" -Cody 2016
soup lids and cups obviously
Brent AKA 1 of the homeless guys that lives there. Nice try Brent 😉

DIBS! I CALLED IT!!!
My dream would be if it had a GameStop.
Abandoned adidas store, said to be haunted by people killed over Yeezyd
why not a abandoned dildo store :D

Same! Great work Cody!!
been here since 4k. hope i can grow like him someday

ricky gonzaga nice. wanna be with me since 220? haha!!
+dylanORY been here since 14
If you homeless that mall is like heaven, free power, toliets etc.
Brent was bullshitting you.
He's the hobo that lives out of that sleeping bag.
I think the "alien eggs" were supposed to be pine cones.
Me to but I like to think its eggs
No the sign on the left said chestnuts.
It's real the movie Alain is real aliens are going to rule over the world
They're pinecones before they flower; seems like you've never seen a chestnut before lol
IKR 🙄
weird how that place is just sitting there burning power!!!
That's what I thought
i mean its owned. by the goverment so ofcourse there still gunna have power still running in there
The owner is probably still wondering what to do with the place.
WATP
The government does not own the building. It is owned by the either the city or a private customer who probably has intentions other than demolition.
Guy came at 15:00
I thought he'd last longer
+Zeoxiis same
+MoneyMidgetMike I hope you get my joke😂
wait,that was a joke?
+Zeoxiis nice one😂😂
Idk what if that random guy was a killer or something like that. I mean, 1:30 am makes him looks suspicious.
Having a whole mall to myself is something I've always dreamed about

sameeee lmao

After black Friday
6:43 There's the chair, just chillin'! :-D
That was really good, reminds me of something I would have done in my younger days. The sound design (intentional or not) reminded me of One Hour Photo and some of the eeriest parts came when you heard nothing at all.
a giant abandoned mall fully powerd, a junkies dream come true..just waiting for a fire to start
Nice! I saw Dan Bell's film of the same mall, surprised to get another perspective.
18:10 Those are the reels for the IMAX films. Sweet!
Brant is the real hero here, with his blue plastic bag he is not afraid of anything!
I did some research and the store with that neon light was KB toys
I don't see an issue with the homeless sleeping in these abandoned places at least the place isn't torn down for nothing I think the reason why the lights aren't turn off is the fact that owner cares about the homeless people and want to let them stay their or he's just want people out with lights being out
Gonna be honest that mall looked low budget to begin with
Nathan Traylor Lmao.

If your ever in Oklahoma, you can go down some of our older roads in Norman.. TONS of abandoned houses, stores, etc.
Great place to go if you wanna get robbed and/or murdered, no doubt.
+chemergency well I've never experienced any of those encounters any time I've gone.
Being a person who lives in Oklahoma, I can verify this.
Being a person who lives in Oklahoma, I can verify this.
Kiaya Min nick Norman can be a real shithole when you deviate from populated areas, I'd be super-careful down there.

The bank is keeping the power on so the air keeps circulating, and the place doesn't go to absolute shit. They do hope to be able to sell it again.
Jesse Bains ohhhh that make sense. seeing that other places without power was rusted to death and over stuff beyond fixing...
+Jesse Bains there are still anchors and the building is (was?) owned by Walmart. They were going to demo it but pulled out of the project as of 2-3 days ago.
Man I love old malls. So much fun. Good work
I love how you guys always put in some creepy music. Makes me feel even more stupid that I watch these things in the middle of the night. 😍😂🙈😎😱
Fleur Habets ikr
"should we do it?"
*sees knife* "uh-uh"
*proceeds to walk down aisle*
Every time i see places like this I always think about silent hill 3
I LOVE DAN BELL
me too
At 4:09 its sounds like a girl screaming yeeeaaaaa in a high but also low pitch voice just turn up your volume and you can here it very good
That circular thing? That is a reel rewinder. You put in the full take-up spool, and the empty feed spool, and it rewinds the film.
Very fast, too.
I don't understand why they would leave the power on? Surely nobody is paying the bill?
I think the reason they don't turn off the power is so no one steals the copper wiring from the building and destroy it completely beyond repair.
redpanda girlie it's not worth that much
Seems like Brent here isnt there for what he says he was there for. I recon drug use. (He isnt equiped to steal mutch nor for urbex) (Good place for shooting up at night , has electricity and isnt completly trashed, typical of a family man drug user, look at his eyes , he under influence) :p
To be fair the crazy eyes can just be a sign of anxiety, in a room with people I don't know, or too many people, my eyes widen like crazy.
@@trevthekidd body language and verbal intonation says it all and his story is not very credible
@@BL00DSETTAKINOVA yeah he's suspect as fuck, I'm just throwing the variable out there.
There's a FACE at 14:18 at the right side of the screen in a bag
Shit I mean left side
I think that's a reflection from the bag on the shelf..
that was disappointing
Listen at 4:09
If u want to make a movie or something about an apocalypse u could film scenes here
If those golden Christmas alien pods had hatched, you guys would have been dinner!
the theme music makes this video seem scary.
I love going in this mall. ultimate hangout
A guy wandering around an abandoned mall at 1am just to do some reminiscing about the old movie theater? Yeah right.
it's a shame the government doesn't use places like this for the homeless!
if you see broken lightbulbs stay away from it
KirbyVGCP wait
KirbyVGCP what do you know that we dont?
loot tomlinson you're unfamiliar with mercury poison, arent you?
loot tomlinson fluorescent light bulbs contains mercury and it is very poisonous
KirbyVGCP OHHHH
this looks like a zombie apocalypse mall
On 5:09 it looks like a bed bath and Bodyworks
The power is still on in this hair salon
There's cards on the ground
Hair stlyes all around

What you saw in the movie theater office wasn't security stuff it was air conditioning and heating controls for the cinema
U know whats creepy? The Boscov's in that mall is still selling!
I love when UA-camrs get together ^_^
Go to 4:10 and listen 12 seconds
This is Rolling Acres Mall. It closed in October 31 2008 but the last STORE closed on December 31 2013
11:50 your'e playing restraint like little kids... Much respect.
Some of the pictures of the kids in the hair salon were kinda creepy.
It was pretty smart of the mall owners to keep power to the building. That way, vandals and metal scrappers know not to play around in the mall.
what does it mean when your going to an abandoned place you get there you see a side walk and in city spray paint it says muse w/ an arrow
that film reel holder was probably worth a few grand. stuff like that is never cheap even used
This is dan Bell.
That's awesome! I watched his vid yesterday, too. Hahahaha
Abandoned malls are awesome and creepy af
5:48 Hey whats up guys, its Scarce here.
Feeling a F.E.A.R vibe in this vid with that place

i can't believe places like this exist!

Brent wasn't there to reminisce... at that early in the morning probably wanted to see what he could steal
or do drugs. He had a shopping bag with him so..
It's creepy that it's been abandoned. But it's even creepier! That they still have electricity!! Why is the power still on?😳🤔
why do u upload it so late u recorded this a long time ago
+SteeL Nimrod because if I uploaded it the same day I would run out of abandoned places to upload, there are only so many places I can go to
That was March 23rd at 1 am and you finally finished editing the footage?!?!
oh

At midnight lights turn on in malls so that's why a few lights were on
Why would it turn on at midnight?
+Taco bull its to kind of scare away intruders by adding lights, so they will think someone is in there.
+Darkshadow123 4 I never knew that they had old people on top of the buildings.
Slender426 Random stuff yeah but why would the council pay electricity for an abandoned mall
15:30 is when they meet the person, you're welcome
tanks! also u should check me out then I explore too!
A lot of dreams flushed down the toilet.
As i watch this i was scrolling through the tv and abandoned is on viceland and they are doing a "ghost mall" episode looking for ghosts in one of the malls im pretty sure Dan did(Rolling Acres).
One of the guys pissed in one of the plant displays and remembering how much of a thing Dan has for mall plants i thought "what a fuckin dickbag pissing on the plants".
very cool video showing mall history
that guy was not in there to see why the lights were on.
5:13 time for ticket person simulator!!!
Does anyone know the backstory of the place? I'm at 7:00 so idk if they explained it or not
The hoyts closed years before the mall they auctioned off the seats an screen. Newer mall on the other side of town an this side of town had changing demographics
+Exploring with Rachel thanks
+James squiggly cup yeah, I work down the street from this mall. I know it's a lot of section 8 housing in the area now.
How do the lights still work? And how are they not over heating?
MEXX they turned on the transformer/power when they went in.
I Love abandoned malls. I need a new hairstyle! Please do not cut anything at the top, bottom or sides. 🤣 The Christmassled is so cool.
THAT'S BULLSHIT!!! HE'S ONE OF THE HOMELESS, RUN!!!!!!!!
He saw one boy and thought he was going to get lucky
the Power is on why the mall has two open stores
