Diamond Use self made avocado masks every 3 days and eat lots of avocados. Als make a firm bun (ponytail) whenever you get home and leave it tight until you go out again. That will force your hair to come out faster. Plus when given the right nutrition it will grow faster. Goodluck and keep drinking lots of water and relax much much much more.

I have my hair down as long as hers (when she straightened it) and even I get that, however, in Mexican culture there's a thing called "Mal de ojo" and its kind of like a curse, and it can be towards something about you that someone else envies. And the way to prevent it is to let people touch said attribute...mostly has to do with hair (lol) anyways, so my mom always tells me to let people who want to touch my hair, touch it. If you don't, a lot of hair will fall out or get damaged...but then again, to prevent "mal de ojo" my mother used to hand dried peppers from my ponytail holder. I'm not a big believer of this, but just in case, I let people touch my hair and my daughter's too since her hair is also down to her butt.

Its so sad, her complexion is so beautiful and rich, yet because of it most people probably assume her lovely locks are weave. Just like people assume I am mixed because of my complexion. Black women, like myself, definitely grow long hair. People just always assume it's weave. I've had someone rudely run their fingers through the back of my hair in a crowded club. I was so pissed. I've had girl's run up to me at an airport flabbergasted to see my waist length hair. It definitely is a combo of genetics and hair care.

One more thing....have you noticed that the Sisters with this beautiful, long hair are all very humble? They realize it is truly a blessing & takes work & research. What works for Mom, sisters, Aunts & cousins does NOT always work for YOU!! Each and every one of us will have to tweek the ingredients (oil, creme, braiding, etc) until we find what our hair will like. Example: I love coconut oil, but my hair prefers olive oil. I spread it on after my shampoo & condition and before my creme moisturizer then braiding/twist. On very cold days, I use black castor oil in my parts -- warmer days peppermint oil. I went from a 1 inch afro to hair past my shoulders in 5 years. I rarely blow dry or flat iron--only summer & once a month. Otherwise it is a twist out, letting the curls just bounce around. Embrace & Rejoice in the beauty of our locks and the variety of styles!! Black women of every shade & nationality are just Phenomenal!!!

I fall more and more in love with her hair. It's so thick and long and HEALTHY wow... she really inspires me to keep taking the maximum care of my hair even though it's tough sometimes. I'm going to straighten my hair for the first time since I went natural two years ago. Mostly bc it needs a trim but I'm excited to see the growth. For so long, Black women were told, often by family & stylists, that we could not grow our hair long & healthy. This is why so many have turned to wigs & weaves after burning their hair out with perms & straighten combs. We now know the less we do, the better it grows as long as we keep it moisturized. Bald spots are growing back, baby hair edges are revitalized & our hair grows past the shoulders to our waists - in a healthy state. Thank you both!!

It can be. Take care of it and biotin and coconut oil mixed with avacado, castor, and olive oil helps alot. And do your big chop and that all helps and patince. Keep moisturized but not to much and use all natural products. Be patient and show yourself love. Keep it in braids especially cornrows and avoid sew ins and leave outs.
Thats just what helped with me. I cut my 4b hair in January and its past my ears now.

Tbh I find a lot of stuff for dark skinned girls with long hair or less coily/non 4c hair. It's a struggle for me (someone who has neck length hair without shrinkage) to find anything for 4c hair, especially without said hairstyles being called ratchet or ghetto. Or me not being able to do it because my hair isn't long enough/straight/silky.
Dark skinned women are the toughest, most loving, and most beautiful on this earth. That is why so many women do their damnedest to stigmatize them. I look at my baby girl and know I am raising a Queen. I never knew the difference of light skinned "Black" women and darker skinned women until I started to raise one. Light skinned women need to recognize the privileges they have and stop assuming darker skinned lovelies are wearing weave all the time. My baby girl has long beautiful hair and KNOW people will assume it is not hers....So sad.
