I hope it does mean the S62 will come down a little, but at the moment it still $499.99. IMO the S70 sits above the S62 in the lineup as the premium offering. The S62 is now the mid range option and then you have the lower priced options from there. The S62 is still a great golf watch and offers a lot of functionality in that range compared to other brands. I would be surprised if it actually came down in price. Thanks for watching and commenting!
The S62 has been my daily driver since it came out (wear it 24/7) and has been a great watch. I bought a Samsung Golf Watch thinking it was time to "upgrade"... What a waste of money that was... Unfortunately my S62 backlight died the other day so thanks for the video... I'm pretty convinced after watching that I'm going with the S70!
Thank you for the review. I you would like some feedback, I have some. You titled this video side by side comparison. But yet 70 % of the screen is you. I clicked the thumbnail, because I wanted to se the 2 watches up close and side by side = comparison. Not to watches far away from the camera. The review it self, was nice though. Maybe a "on the course" review could be til next? Thank you
Some advice , your showcasing the differences between the watches. Yet, your the focus from a video standpoint. We don't need to watch you read taking up 70 % of the screen. Otherwise a great comparison.
This is literally you reading manufacturer marketing on the products? I could get this from their page in seconds instead of this dragged out reading session. Thumbs down times ten
I’ve tried to find a reason to get the 62 vs the 70, cause of cost, but the 70 is worth the extra $. My buddy has the 62 and we compared them in the golf store to the 70 & it’s just like your review- hands down better at pretty much everything.
@@BogeyKingGolf I’ve had the S70 for about 10 days now and love it! Wear it every day, even to bed, because it has the sleep monitors and stuff. Golfed a few times with it on too. Let’s just say- my buddy is now jealous
Thanks for the review! It's always really windy where I play and I was wondering how accurately it gauges a strong wind in your face regarding club selection? Thanks
I bought the 70about a month ago and have logged 27 rounds (I play almost daily). It seems to gauge wind speed based on average wind. It’s definitely not current wind. I’ve stood on a tee box and the watch would show 5 mph wind when it was clearly blowing much harder at that moment. So, not great for days where there is a large variation of wind speeds. If the wind is fairly steady, however, it’s been pretty good for me. At times it would tell me to take two extra clubs, and in my mind, that was way too much. But more often than not, it was right. When it is wrong, I’m generally long, but that’s probably because I struck the ball well compared to my average shot with that club. One thing I would recommend if you do get either of these watches, try to avoid recording shots that get a speed boost based on terrain. It’ll make the virtual caddie suggest clubs that won’t get you where you need to go. After my first five rounds, I only used my six iron once, and it took two bounces on the cart path and went probably 50 yards further than I normally hit it. VC would recommend 6 iron when I should’ve been hitting 5 wood. It took a lot more six iron shots to get it back to a normal distance.
It does look like you can add weight training as one of the exercise types to track. It has a lot of different workouts you can track. It even has pickle ball! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Do you recommend the 47mm version over the 42mm version of the S70? I am used to 42 on my S60, but not sure if the functionality is much easier to navigate on the larger watch.
Yes, you need to have it connected to your phone to get the weather data. You also need to make sure location services are turned to Always On (Garmin Connect App & Garmin Golf App) for it to work consistently. That said, I leave my phone in the cart and haven't had any issues so far with the readings. I don't like anything in my pockets while I'm playing. I am still doing some on the course testing so I will follow up in my full review. Make sure you're subscribed and have notifications turned on so you'll see when that video goes live. Thanks for watching!
It’s a good point, but it seems comparable to other smart watches. The S62 is $499 brand new and is going for ~$350 on eBay used. In comparison an Apple Watch 7 was ~$400 new and is going for $~$250-300 used. No tech is going to retain its full value. Given how long they waited to add a new product after the S62 came out shows me they are hoping people use/keep these watches long term. Probably not the upgrade every year demographic that most Apple Watch users are. It’s a steep price, but does offer a lot and seems to be in line with other premium smart watches. That’s a big reason I do these videos- hopefully showing you enough to make a decision that works best for you. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I thought it may be too large and look awkward, but it was fine. It didn't look any bigger on my wrist than with the S62. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Somehow you managed to make a comparison video about two popular golf watches, yet had 70% of the screen focused on you and only distant shots of the watches with no close ups. 😂🤦🏼♂️
One key feature that the 70 does have that no one takes into account. It makes to 62 more affordable

@@BogeyKingGolf Your welcome
Lol I was thinking the exact same thing. Was looking for this comment 😂

Who wants to read? I put this on my 2nd screen while researching other things on my main screen while listening in the background. Great vid

I love my 62 but wish it was capable of logging weight training. Does the 70 do this?

I like the bigger screen, but I think you could see everything and interact the same with the 42. I like the color choices of the 42 better!
does the plays like need a phone connection to get that? Also, does the S70 still have Garmin Pay?

I wish I could use garmin app on my galaxy watch.
It would be great if they made it open to iOS & Android!
Why would you buy any garmin watch that has NO trade up value???

do you find the 47mm watch face too big?

That's actually 4x the resolution
It's a huge jump in resolution and quality!

Lol, you have to be blind to not see how much better the S70 screen is vs the 62 regardless of opinion on who it’s focused towards 😂
@@Fighting-4-Par I own both. The S70 is far better. But this video was poorly designed, despite the positive commentary.
Don’t S70 figures depend on watch size 😳
