@@LeumazDnazor But they did care. They cared enough to show that life doesn't care about people just because we care about them. No one is safe. And that's true, and that's beautiful.
@@LeumazDnazor I don't view his character as being the same kind of narrative device as, say, Joel. Jesse was a very loyal friend. He cared about Ellie enough to help her get revenge against Abby. But when he found out Dina was pregnant, he instantly saw what was actually important, and tried to convince Ellie to leave once they found Tommy. Of course, Ellie was already too far gone with her descent into madness by then, and when they got an opportunity to find Tommy, Jesse - the loyal friend - was confronted with Ellie's single-minded and cruelly-dismissive disloyalty. That day, Ellie proceeded to murder Mel and Owen, which led to Jesse being killed and Tommy shot. So his character, while charming due to good dialogue and a badass performance, is not supposed to be explored in the same way that we might explore the backstory of Joel or Abby. I should point out that The Last of Us has always been very minimalist in this sense, preferring to let the personality of a character manifest in the midst of the action rather than have the image of a character's personality constructed through our knowledge of past events. In this way, it is incredibly realistic. What "important things" can you say about somebody with whom you've had as many interactions as you do on-screen with Jesse? And yet you might genuinely appreciate and care about such a stranger. Part II is a staggeringly complex story, so even though it's quite lengthy, there isn't a ton of time to spend on any one of its characters. I see it as a huge strength of the game that, even under these restrictions, so much nuance and charisma was conveyed. I didn't know Jesse's favorite color or whether he ever did anal with Dina, but I did know Jesse, and I liked him a lot, and I was shocked and appalled when he was unceremoniously murdered.

I find myself to be in the minority but I thought TLOU2 was just better in every way. I just played through the second one for the first time recently and just the gameplay and AI upgrades alone make it twice as good. The story also has less filler and is more cohesive. The first game has moments that I love but I still find it to be a boring chore to sit through to get to those parts. I'll never forget the boss fights, or chase sequences, or crazy AI interactions from the second game. And I thought the story was extremely underrated except the ending. I didn't hate the ending BTW but I can see why people think it doesn't make sense.
The last of us 1 feels very simplistic, which is normal because it’s a 2013 game. All they did was update the graphics and animations for the remake but in the end it’s still simplistic in its level design and story. Part 2 is very complex with much better environmental assets. Part 1 is a simple love bonding adventure game. Part 2 is a pure revenge and perspective game
You guys sound very reasonable. I like you. Might replay the second game again and just skip the cutscenes haha. While I thought the story was good, that doesn't necessarily mean I liked it.

I’m gonna disagree with you there. RDR2 never made me cry or spike my blood pressure. It is an amazing game, but HBO didn’t think it was good enough for a TV series. Rockstar is inferior to Naughty Dog in story telling and gameplay.

Part 2 has the most realistic story ever with some of the deepest n truthful lessons which are a part of everyday life and people just want some heroic sht with always a happy ending which is definitely not the case in actual day to day instances..The story was deep action packed nerve wrecking and something which is not everyone’s cup of tea however we need to understand Joel was a selfish human and was no hero but he had some good human side too and that’s how he got attached to Ellie but risking the humanity for the sake of his greed resulting in countless n ruthless killings (especially doctors I’d want to mention as they weren’t easy to find in Such a world) n I’m not saying he’s the one responsible for all that but the time he’s gone through in the world where survival is everything, everyone would have become the same and on the other hand Abby’s story Idk why she’s hated I mean c’mon what if someone has done this to your father?? Especially in such a time when you needed him the most?? I mean I won’t say he was fully right but what if that would have actually saved the humanity?? She has always thought of her father as a hero which is relatable too and he’s the only one she truly loved/cared for… I’m not justifying her actions especially killing of Joel but crap I’d ve done the same infact most of us would have done the same and if you think Joel started getting better as a human when Ellie came into his life and whatever he did was right so what about what Abby did?? She went against all of her friends se truly cared for just to save those kids and not to mention but since the day, since the hour she met them however we all know how Joel treated Ellie throughout the Beginning of the game!!! Both of them were living in the same world has gone through so much in the past but holy duck this only shows her human side was far better than any of the protagonists we had in the first game… And hence so many examples I have and the ones which I’ve seen throughout the play through which I can use to mark my points up but idt I’d do that people are so toxic here on the internet but yea having your opinions and defending them is justified but simply saying something like story is cap or whatever that ain’t any real talk If you don’t wanna play it please don’t if you think you can’t handle the trauma or the violence or any of the messages Which game is tryna convey (which is imo Soo freakin relatable in Every aspect) so please don’t play it… cussing the developers or giving death threats to the actors or the crew members is not the way!! I mean Violence is never the key ohh heck that’s what the game meant but those who didn’t understand, forward they went n went but for what?? to scream over the game n rant!
Let it all out buddy. 😂 I think I'm on the opposite side here man, but I'm only here to share my thoughts by the way, no ill intentions. After 3 years of thinking and considering, I still think the problem I had with Part 2 ain't because it's not unrealistic, lack of theatrical flare, or unheroic, or anything like that... It was because I think they executed the story poorly at some major aspect, and somehow the gameplay becomes a bit redundant. Had they spent more time on Abby's side at the beginning, letting us know her more before she reveal her true identity and kill Joel, I think I'd connect with her better, and she would be more acceptable for me, and the drama would be more impactful. I was having difficulty trying to understand her throughout her gameplay simply because this whole time I've been put in the perspective of Joel and Ellie, so they're the ones that I'm attached to. So when Joel got brutality killed all of a sudden by some new character I just know 20 minutes ago that don't know about, of course I'd reject her straight up, and I won't even try to understand her motives because she killed the one I'm attached to. But isn't that a realistic reaction?, If someone suddenly break into my house and mauled my family member's head with a golf club, I won't give a shit about their reasons, I won't care about how sad their backstory is, I won't care how much my family wronged them in the past, they're as good as dead to me. It's a sentimental and realistic reaction is it not?, the whole point of the game I'd say, so I personally think people ain't wrong to hate Abby, because she's meant to be hated by how the structure of the story looks. But people also ain't wrong to sympathize with her, the devs definitely put some effort to get us to understand her after she killed him, but clearly that ain't working on some people, including myself, I think it's too late for that. I also think that people don't like how Joel went out not because he's a saint, not because it lack theatrical flare, but because the death could've had more impact if we get to know Abby way better before she kill him. In terms of how realistic the story was, I think both Part 1 & 2 are the same, it's not about who's better and who's worst person, none of the main leads are saints and none of them area a complete devil, just like in life they all have their own priority, and I think comparing who's the better and who's the worst person is kinda counterproductive, it's all about perspective. I think that's about all, thanks for reading, lmao
Part 2 graphics were insane for PS4, but they need to change their engine for PS5, Part 1 is more of the same PS4 graphics, I hope this is on purpose to make both games feel like one, but if their next game still looks like this it will be super disappointing, still waiting for a game that looks and feels next gen.

Joel and Ellie: *holding a whole brick*
The subtitle : "Stone"
I don't do Dark in games but I do see myself playing this and having a blast.
TLOU2 is a perfect game. Storytelling, atmosphere, emotion, graphics, and suspense. A true masterpiece.
True.
They didn't seem to give a fuck about the characters though
@@LeumazDnazor But they did care. They cared enough to show that life doesn't care about people just because we care about them. No one is safe. And that's true, and that's beautiful.
@@All4Randomness1 No I mean like, tell me *one* important thing about jesse
I don't understand why they didn't copy and paste the effects from Tlou Part 2. They seem to be worse in the remake.
The game the last of us remake is a cash grab, the only thing it adds are graphics. Resident evil 4 remake, dead space remake, resident evil 2 remake, mafia 1 remake are the embodiment of what a remake is. The last of us part 1 remake gameplay is outdated, it clunky that you can not dodge, or go prone
The part 1 was released before part 2,the part one released in 2022 and the part 2 released in 2020
@@NotPenguins Do you know what "before" even means?
The fact Naughty Dog realized this kind of graphic detail with a PS4 is absolutely incredible. Uncharted 4 to this day is one of the most beautiful game I have ever seen, even counting the multiplatform games I play on PC.
People who don’t know tlou (yeah like, wtf?) wondering why the hell is the last of us part one released 3 years later than part 2 😂😂
Just finished part 2 2 days back. Really loved the overall gameplay mechanics even though it gets dunked on for some reason? U can go full ops or be an assassin, ur choice. Story isnt too shabby albeit memorable but i really dig the final story of ellie and abby. Heck i didnt even realize the brown hair girl was abby 😂
how did u download it? is it available on pc
@@crazyera1949 played it on ps5
@@crazyera1949Part II is not on PC yet but there’s a rumored (basically confirmed atp) remaster/director’s cut for the ps5 that will probably also come to PC 😊
the first one was a masterpiece second one was good too but the only thing that I'd say was better than the original was the gameplay
I can’t wait for part 3, part 2 is the greatest game I’ve ever played, story was incredible, structuring for sure has some issues though. I just hope part 3 is as good or better, but it’s a high bar
It's perfectly fine as a 2 part game. A part 3 seems completely unnecessary and Naughty Dog has confirmed they are working on a new IP.
@@JJJoeJoe part 2 ended on such a cliff hanger. They can’t end it there. Part 3 has practically been confirmed by Druckmann without officially confirming it
If you are being honest you have horribly low standards for video games, you havent played a lot of them, or you have drank way too much Druckmann koolaid.
now that the show was a success they will try to milk as much as possible so a part 3 is even more likely.
DIDNT give Last of us 2 a chance because it got spoiled but when I fucking played it after like 2/3 years, boys the game is fucking sickkkkkk. One of the better games I’ve played
Part 2 still looks better and objectively incredible in some ways. Like, I don't know how, but the lighting is _so_ perfect for Ellie's hand @4:50
clicers best in part1
A great video, although when the fire did not spread at all in the last of us, two, that really hurt my soul
Tbh, the first part of snow is wrong. You can see also snow falling from a tree branch on Abby’s story, and also Ellie’s story (first part when searching for Joel & Tommy)
I'm pretty surprised that part 2 actually holds up better than part 1 in a lot of cases???? How come??
perchè hanno preso il "parte II" e hanno cancellato il 2 mettendoci l'uno.. soldi facili senza sforzi
Laziness And Bankrupt Creativity.
Part 2 is a better game, Part 1 is more beloved because it's just Ellie and Joel. Part 2 is far more ambitious and risk taking.
Breaking the molotov cocktail on the water surface = Water physics 😂
That's the only part of the game that never made any sense. 😆
The difference is you can’t dodge
😂
cant wait for part 2 remastered
For me, character model textures are batter in part 1, and part 2 won all the rest
Would love to see a death stranding vs red dead redemption 2 video someday
Love your channel
You're gonna need to make the video again now that tlou2 remastered is coming out!
Part 2 is a masterpiece i dont care what anyone says.
Both are PS4 Games from ground up , The only difference Tloup2 got no PS5 patch meanwhile Tloup1 remake got no ps4 version to let us think it's truly next gen but it's not
cuz if that what NaughtyDog can do on PS5 then it's a big disappointment, but don't worry i know the New IP will set the bar again on PS5 and will look faaaar better than part 1 remake
I made basically the same comment, 100% agree. Excepting maybe The Callisto Protocol, there hasn't been a true next gen game yet...
As a nice newbie gamer I had no idea Naughtydog created The Last of Us and Uncharted. Uncharted 4 is still my all time favorite, but after just playing Part 1 on PS5 I am excited to play part 2, and have high expectations for the next Uncharted.
Have you played the part 1 DLC?
I love your vids
Part 2 by far my best and worst in my first experience in 4k gaming and breaking my mental state at the same time
Hold up! 2:01 has to be a mod, right? There’s no way Joel rides alone in that section of the game.
I think theres a point he is separated with ellie?
@@noaj3647 No. That's the University section and Ellie remains in the horse the entire time whenever Joel dismounts. It happens to be a mod of some sort because in Part II this person is riding alone and Dina does not hop back on the horse.
i dont think fire propagates on fresh green grass even in real life, it propagates on dry though
btw, walking on ice, by riding hourse, is pretty realistic, it would break irl too
Last of Us Part 1: simple gameplay, better story, sad and hopeful
Last of Us Part 2: better/complex gameplay, realistic story, dark and vengeful
I love both, I just love Part 2 little bit better
Definatly tlou2 ; Man the last of us part 2 still looks better than most ps5 games , if only they would add highres + texture upgrades it would be phenomenal
They used everything on tlou part 1 what they upgraded on 2nd so... Its 99% the same. I think now the difference is a little bit more graphics and a lil bit of destruction scenario.
These games are ina league of their own when it comes to gameplay and graphics, i love this franchise, i wish Part 2 story was better but i have no complaints on the gameplay
The graphics actually aren't all that impressive. If you've played a lot of PS5 exclusives then you'll start to see where the games are ageing a bit
Part I is still the best.
Red Dead Redemption 2 putting both of em in shame 👌
I’m gonna disagree with you there. RDR2 never made me cry or spike my blood pressure. It is an amazing game, but HBO didn’t think it was good enough for a TV series. Rockstar is inferior to Naughty Dog in story telling and gameplay.
And There both INCREDIBLE
them ellie textures were like a jumpscare lmfao
2:28 I disagree, textures for horse skin are more realistic in 1.
I find horses in these game really bad looking, may just be because I played the shit out of red dead
Each was the "top" of the platform. Tlou (1) on PS3, Tlou 2 on PS4.
I still play both, when I want to "feal" a game. RDR and RDR 2 were cool games with the peak of the platform too...
Last of Us REMAKE (in that case) VS Last of Us 2
Mal wieder ein top Video. Freue mich schon, wenn Last of us auf dem PC erscheint 😁
After buying TLOU part 1 for ps5 (I own the ps3 and ps4 version), I was bummed that part 2 didn't get a ps5 release. I had seriously forgotten how amazing the graphics were on it. It looks and plays like a PS5 game. I just wish they'd Gove an update so the dualsense could take full advantage of it, and also add the trophy help menu that part 1 has.
Won't get a ps5 upgrade how else will they sell you the last of us part 2 remastered in 1.5 years and the last of us 2 remake in 4 years
This gonna look so much better on pc😩❤️
I wouldn't get to committed to that. The resolution and fps yes but it's not like they are doing an engine overhaul for the pc version so the same details and lack of details are going to be similar
@@birdman4birdlegs it’s gonna be a whole new experience it’s pc we’re talking about game’s always look n play better so far all Sony games look n play better on pc is jus how it is 🤷🏾
I´ve played it on both platforms and both look the same. I´m enjoying it more on pc because of the rtx 4090 getting 4k 120hz vs ps5 fidelity 4k 40hz/2k 60
@@reaperskillz you're barley scraping by on that argument with the port they put out. I'd actually argue its untrue with this one
this comment aged well@@reaperskillz
I think I'm on the opposite side here man, but I'm only here to share my thoughts by the way, no ill intentions.
Part 2 graphics were insane for PS4, but they need to change their engine for PS5, Part 1 is more of the same PS4 graphics, I hope this is on purpose to make both games feel like one, but if their next game still looks like this it will be super disappointing, still waiting for a game that looks and feels next gen.
both are goods
Last of us 2 really is an incredible game. So underrated due to its controversy. I was always in the camp of Joel deserving to die and not deserving to stay in ellies life so it really hit for me and playing as hid killer was just genius really as it plays so heavily on your emotions
How is it underrated? It was critically acclaimed, won GOTY and was a sales juggernaut. You people throw “underrated” to just about anything these days.
@Delucaass I think he means overhated.
It was a success yeah, but people were babies about it
@Delucaass absolutely true but many gamers hate on it for the reasons I stated. Angry joe for example could not get past the fact he hated the direction it took. So in my eyes it was underrated

How the hell did u get on the horse without dina?
I honestly don't understand why the PS4 didn't get the part 1 remake...
Simple. It was to drive more people to buy a PS5.
That being said, it would have been cool to see a PS4 port.
@@kazialam4729 Yeah, that's the conclusion I came to as well, but it still seems odd, I wouldn't have thought a remake of a remaster of a port of a decade old game would be that much of a system seller, but hey, what do I know lol.

Вторая часть появится на ПК с улучшенной графикой, так что пока можно не сравнивать.
Love them both.
But Last of Us 2 was designed to be way way bigger in scale.
So when both games are revised to have the exact same gameplay, the second game stands out even more as better.
Part one has a story that you can feel part two has better action
You forgot to mention Ellie’s clothes were shaking in the wind in Part 2 - looks pretty good, wish they applied that to Part 1. Overall though the remake of Part 1 looks better than Part 2, which makes sense.
As we can see TLOU 2 doesn’t really need a remaster
i like the last of us 2 best
El remake si se podía lanzar a ps4 pero quisieron que los jugadores ya se cambiarán a la nueva generación
Thank you NAUGHTY DOG for your magic
Story wise the last of us 1 was the best gameplay the last of us 2 was better. But both are great games.
I find it weird how they're that different, Part 1 is a remake that was rebuilt almost entirely on the newer engine that Part 2 used, yet Part 1 seems to be downgraded in some areas that just makes zero sense
Don’t get me wrong, the first game is my favorite video game ever but I think Part 2 takes the win on details.
I hate the arrow physics, but they probably went with that slow curved trajectory for balancing reasons.
The water details so fun and cool
Hopeful that the second will run better when it comes to PC
Even though the 1st game got a remaster. The second game still looked way better. Especially with the 60fps upgrade
We all realllyyy want a proper ps5 version.. a director’s cut like Ghost of Tsushima
every car in TLOU2 has tempered glass lol
Honestly just wish theyd release the second one on pc already
part 2 grafiksel açıdan daha üstün
No it's not, part 1 does a little better.
i think ps4 could open tlou part 1 as it opened tlou part 2 but it didn't come out on ps4 i wish it did
Gameplay winner is part 2. Story winner is part 1
just wait till you can max out the PC release :D im so hyped for March 28
Part 2 demolishes part 1, Part 1 is amazing and always will be... But every single aspect of Part 2 is better, although its not really fair they're 7 years apart.
This is the remake though lol

The only thing that the designer forgot to change in The Last of Us Remake is that the player can't dodge enemy's attack, unlike the 2nd game. Which is the only part I dislike.
