I heard Matthes complain about the 250 guys doing the exhibition lap at the beginning of the night, saying it should be the top 450 guys who've established a name for themselves in the sport. For myself, that lap means nothing anymore. I don't care who does it, as I've been watching the sport since the 1980's and got my first dirt bike back in 1974 (KV75) when I was in the 6th grade. I know who the racers are. I've already seen what they can do on an SX track. The only time that lap was anything to me was the first time I saw a race live in 1989. I was astonished at how big the air was. You could've put anyone out there, and as long as they did the "big triple" (which was a much bigger thing back then), that's what got me.
I think it makes for better racing. Those big arena arenacross style whoops aren't good for anything except getting ppl hurt. I'd almost bet there's not a single rider that misses skidsteer whoops. The speed that they're going and the size of them was a recipe for disaster
@@brettcameron5911 Plenty of guys in the past navigated them. Whoops should separate the men from the boys. The overall consensus about last weekends track was that it was boring. This is from Feld trying to make it safer. Feld is going to F around and ruin Supercross just like Nascar did.
