I loved the show as a kid and right on through most of my adulthood. But now, as I hit my septuagenarian years, I've come to realize that the Andy Griffith show was loaded with a lot of lying---among the adults, definitely the adults to the kids (Andy being one of the most prolific liars of the entire series), and the almost-but-not-quite innocent occasional "minister" that might make a brief appearance. Lots and lots of lies about many, many things, and they managed to make them seem quite acceptable.

Richard Keith was his stage name... real name Keith Thibodeaux... He will be 70 years old on December 1st.
