I follow a lot of Leo's dances and he's beautiful, athletic and graceful as a lot of people know, but I wanted to also compliment the stunning and very talented Laure in this dance. The synergy between the two of them kept those watching captivated in a spell, which was only broken by the ending. Bravo.
I am blown away when I watch these dances. The fact that this is not rehearsed, that both partners are going by the feel of each other without a plan-- just WOW. Leo and Laure, this old lady is very impressed. It brings me back to memories of my parents dancing when I was young.
What a beautiful performance. Leo and Laure are so graceful with an amazing synergy between them. Leo is always exceptional but Laure was a great partner! It seems that they used to dance together and they know well each other. A pure pleasure! Thank you

I have no idea how such a complex lift can be done as improv, without preparation, and am in awe. For the female dancer to suddenly wrap her thighs around her partner's neck and for him to then successfully lift her that way is impressive enough as part of a much-practised choreography...but to do it suddenly without any kind of pre-knowledge is astonishing. Leo did look a bit discomfited for a split second, but regained his poise almost straight away.
@@sweeperboy Does it say somewhere that it's improvised? I don't believe such a lift could be safely performed without practice. Perhaps exactly when the lift was done was not decided in advance, but no one pulls something like that out of a hat. It's more believable that they've danced together before and have a repertoire of shared moves. Just my .02 🙂
@@mostguitarswins Yes it is improvised, most West Coast Swing dances are and as you'll see from the reply to Anna Ray's question in another comment thread, it was not choreographed. Undoubtedly you're correct that this move will have been done before by both dancers (and perhaps together) or it would not be possible, but even so - to spring it on Leo like that without warning and for him to be able to almost instantly respond and incorporate it in the dance is amazing. The very first part of the lift could have turned into any number of lifts, but the way she suddenly swung her leg over his head and then clamped onto his neck with both thighs to me looked like it caught him off guard a bit (look at his eyes bulging at 2:56) but then he went with it and made it work.

And the dance with your 88yo grandmother was truly priceless I couldn't hold back the emotions! Thank You so very much Leo!! Take Care and may your feet not leave the dance floor for long!!
