@@HankJr. you do realise the minimum cost is there for a reason even for something as small as that. It covers the cost of setting up so for the co flex, the needles, the tiny pottle for the ink, covers them cleaning the table before and after you've been on it as well as their time etc. Works out cheaper per hour to get bigger tattoos, or book out a session to have multiple smaller tattoos
instead of asking for a price estimate because tattoo artist get offended by that for some reason ask the receptionist how much they charge per hour and you can estimate from there
the price completely depends on where you live. a friend of mine did a small taurus symbol and it only costed him $40, a lot cheaper than that $100 exclamation mark.
P J Yikes! I’m glad I got my “ode to Australia” tattoo when I came back from my study abroad trip! That, and I spent my last $20 AUS on heads or tales for shots of bourbon. 👀🤷♀️ LOL!
I'm in Brisbane and I have 16 tatts and I usually go to apprentices, they're a lot cheaper, and keep an eye out for flash sales, that's where I get most of my tatts
Never settle for the cheapest tattoo. Do research before you jump into a artist. That way you’re stuck with something you will never regret. No ragrets.
The reason small tattoos can be expensive is because of a shop minimum - essentially a set up fee & the cost of paying the artist. There needs to be fresh supplies used for every tattoo to be sanitary - these supplies add up in cost.
@Gi Gi literally all the shops in my city, and I'm assuming others, have a minimum price of $80-$100. There are two things you are paying for. The supplies, and the artist's time. It adds up.
@Gi Gi I'm also talking in Canadian currency haha. I should also mention, there's also shop rent that a percentage of the price of every tattoo goes towards. Basically anything under an hour is the minimum price so the shop doesn't take a hit supply/rent wise.
to be fair the asian guy is the owner of a tattos shop with more qualified artist and if someone will try to give im 700 bucks for a one color kitsune fox full size he will not waste is time or is employess time
"quality" yeah, where everything is washed with tap water, and used without any skill, whole piece with just one gun and one ink color. Thanks, but I'll rather pay some more and get a tattoo that has perfect lines and heals well
@@ArtyCraftZ oooh, don't worry bud, Macedonia will catch up with the rest of the world in next 50 years, maybe in that time you'll understand that you have no right to decide for other people, and that nobody cares about your personal taste. And also, tattoos are a great way to get rid of close-minded people like you, so they go live in their bubble away from me, because apparently some ink in my body is giving them convulsions. So, how about you stop writing unnecessary comments? I don't like chipotle but I'm not telling people to stop eating it, and you should do the same.
Okay you get what you pay for though, if you're getting them for half the price I'm 100% sure they look like great value tattoos. But hey if you have low standards for something that will be embedded in your skin then go crazy.
@@bravosava You pay for more than just the actual work. The artists also need to sterilize everything, even for a small tattoo like that, and supplies aren't cheap. Not sure what country you're in where that tattoo is only $15, but it could also be economic differences/cost differences
@@bravosava if you're from Algeria or another country where average salary is 200$ then yeah, it's a lot for you, but ink, needles all the sanitizers cost money, also, if you get someone for that you need to prepare the place (sanitize it), do the actual tattoo, and then clean the place once again, so chances are that you can't sign a whole-day session this day, which is a loss. That's just a minimum. Five exclamation marks would still be 100$.
In these kind of moments you don't pay for the tattoo, you pay for the time of the artist, for the ink and other things because you can't reuse them. This is why every tattoo shop has their minimum so you just pay for their minimum. You can get a bigger and just a better tattoo but if you just want that...you get only that.
My issue with a lot of these is just that the tattoos aren’t that good. I totally get why they cost that much for the size and detail (expect for the explanation point that’s BS) so the reason I think the aren’t worth the price is just because the art just not that good. If the tattoos looked better I’d say they deserve the price or higher.
The reason shops have a minimum is because of the set-up time and needles that will be expended even if it takes 5 minutes to do the tat. You still have to sterilize/sanitize and dispose of certain items, so the prep-work and expendable items costs must be paid for even if the tat is only 5 dollars worth of work.
I sculpt and paint and the hardest thing about selling my art is pricing!! Ive gotten good advice, price it high as it’s worth a lot, depending on how many hours goes into it, and someone who has the money will buy it. I spend so many hours doing tiny detailed work, mixing custom colors, etc. the materials aren’t worth as much as the time that goes into it and your personal designs. I just doubt myself and think I wouldn’t pay that much for this.. the pricing struggle is real ✌🏼
I was $100 or $50 off on a lot of these and I have no tattoos and no tattoo experience whatsoever. Lucky guessing. And when these artist gave their guess I was like “I’m probably right... oooorr what they’re saying. Yeah what they’re saying makes sens- OH IM NOT FAR OFF!”

It’s pricey bc is in LA but actually high prices for small tattoos are not abusive when you find out how much the equipment necessary to tattoo costs. Usually tattoo artist use exclusive equipment for each client and throw it away after tattooing
@@HankJr. you do realise the minimum cost is there for a reason even for something as small as that. It covers the cost of setting up so for the co flex, the needles, the tiny pottle for the ink, covers them cleaning the table before and after you've been on it as well as their time etc. Works out cheaper per hour to get bigger tattoos, or book out a session to have multiple smaller tattoos
@@claudial3875 in the UK it would cost about $25 because that's the minimum
So if tattoo artists don’t really know how much these tattoos are, how do they expect clients not to ask for a ballpark estimate? Lol
instead of asking for a price estimate because tattoo artist get offended by that for some reason ask the receptionist how much they charge per hour and you can estimate from there
Man idc I ask the receptionist how much would it be, usually they don’t care.
because they cant put an estimate on their art, usually you go in for a consultation and tell them your budget
This video made me realize I’m not financially ready for any tattoo any time soon 😅
the price completely depends on where you live. a friend of mine did a small taurus symbol and it only costed him $40, a lot cheaper than that $100 exclamation mark.
I got you i work with your budget
Cecilia Lopez tattoos are overrated. Women without them are way hotter.
Just gotta save up...like that jar that says "for my new tattoo" 😂😂
These prices are ludicrous haha
What I learnt from this:
Tattoos in Australia are expensive. I paid $350 for two bees.
P J Yikes! I’m glad I got my “ode to Australia” tattoo when I came back from my study abroad trip! That, and I spent my last $20 AUS on heads or tales for shots of bourbon. 👀🤷♀️ LOL!
That's why many australians get their tattoo in Bali
Helga Christ ...And end up with massive infections!
Next time holla at me
I'm in Brisbane and I have 16 tatts and I usually go to apprentices, they're a lot cheaper, and keep an eye out for flash sales, that's where I get most of my tatts
“A night on earth could pull me through”
That’s the most unique Alkaline Trio tattoo I’ve ever seen
Never settle for the cheapest tattoo. Do research before you jump into a artist. That way you’re stuck with something you will never regret. No ragrets.
No regrats! And Only god can juge me
You'll ragret nearly every tattoo sooner or later.
@Dustin Heath Everyone thinks they're the exception, especially women who get one in their teens or 20s
Depends on the country you live in though, expensive here for something the size of your hand would be $50 (average is about $20-30).
@@ArtyCraftZ why only women, don't lots of young men get drunk tattoos
2:57 that ain’t even an astronaut that’s a deep sea diver in space lol
The deep sea/space tattoo isn’t bad.
Chai tea I want a pfp of that
a depressed high schooler I want a tattoo of that
They all seem so passionate about there work and I love it💯
kenzy Hatem their*
Hundred bucks for an exclamation point? This industry is lucrative.
You can make a minimum of 100$ an hour being a good tattoo artist ! If you are talented you can live well hahahah
i can get that for 20
after watching this and seeing how expensive tattoos are, i think i wanna be a canvas on Ink Master...
really? i was shocked by how cheap they are.
@@haileyadkins8412 your a mad lad if you think labor fees plus a line and a dot adds up to 100$ 😂there trying to dodge some taxes there for sure
@@toogaytolift9176 dude I was thinking like $25 or the shop minimum which is $50. What a rip off
lol they never comment if the tattoo is actually good or not. just "big" or "a lotta work" haha
Ezra Right the full sleeve looked like it was done by someone who never did a tattoo in their life before
@@jungkooks_microwavephobia theres a reason it cost only $700 🤣🤣
I seriously never knew tattoos costed that much💀😭
Its obvious these people are overcharging people for tattoos
When the guy said $700 for a hand sized tattoo I got the biggest look of wtf on my face. You must be going to the elite for that.
Fr...I had my whole ribcage done, a 4 and a half hour session, for $200. And it still looks phenomenal today.
@@shaggydabbydoo1468 lucky you)
$100 for an exclamation point? Biggest ripoff ever. Haha
sHOP MINIMUM!
I guess you have to pay for the needle and some other stuff too
Shop minimum my guy. Tattoos aren’t cheap. If you’re getting cheap tattoos that’s probably a bad thing.
Here i paid 100 dollars for a full colored back tatto big wings and sword.
Zack W. Even for a shop minimum it’s a ripoff. It should’ve been a $50 shop minimum
Lol definitely never going to the Asian guy he clearly charges too much
Rad Con that’s what I thought😂
Exactly 😂
Maybe he does good work which is why he gets to charge more?
to be fair the asian guy is the owner of a tattos shop with more qualified artist and if someone will try to give im 700 bucks for a one color kitsune fox full size he will not waste is time or is employess time
Azurefanger are you his lawyer?
Put the guy with the glasses on videos! He is funny af 😂😂
I like this game. Would be cool to have them guess the prices of each others' best works, and the original artist explain the reasoning.
Today I learned I've been getting good deals on my tattoos.
That Asian dude is really upmarking his tats, let's now go to his parlor
Rocket Grunt Mason he’s a hsutler
Trust me, he wont miss yall. He is booked 5 days a week for MONTHS solid. He wont miss broke whiners who dont want high quality art 🤣🤣🤣
"How much do these cost"
"About 3 fiddy"
You took an f in dat one
2:53 the way they emphasized her snort
Meanwhile in jail the most expensive is a pack of cigarettes
Wow the variances of prices to size and type of tattoos was wild!
Loved how Taka started blushing!
I love the lady with the short hair she’s hilarious with her excitement😂💀
$100 for an exclamation point!!!??? anyway I need another episode of this this was cool.
Another episode of why is this in my UA-cam recommendations but I’m gunna watch it anyway
I love Taka’s energy! 😂😂
Their mentality is the *LA/NY* big money tattoo prices when in the hood can get it for half the price and good looking quality tattoos 😅🤷🏻♂️
Rodrigo Salazar fr ! Lol the homie did a big ass rose on my arm for only 80 dollars !! If I went to a shop they would have charged me like 300!
"quality" yeah, where everything is washed with tap water, and used without any skill, whole piece with just one gun and one ink color.
Thanks, but I'll rather pay some more and get a tattoo that has perfect lines and heals well
@@Zaurkax14 Better yet, how about you don't get any tats and actually look presentable for a change
Paying 100 dollars for that is a joke, don't go to a artist like that, LOL.
Most shops have a minimum (lowest I've seen is $60). Also, they're in LA so I'm sure tattoo prices are double most areas
@@christopherrecinos2988 Murica is bs. I show this to my artist in my area, he said he would charge 15 for the ! since its like 2 min work he say lol
Dude with the rose on his face charges a lot with his guesses. Lol.
I like the astronaut tattoo that was dope!!!
1:13 Yeah the age of the tatoo will affect this hugely - very difficult to price a tatoo if ya dont know when it was done.
That Asian dude seems like a chill guy to hang with
I got both my feet tatted for a bag of coffee in prison costed me a whopping 2.50$ lol
🤣😭
Justin Osborne I got my first tat which was a chest piece for a bottle of Sky Vodka
Lol I can dig it,I call all my tats residual after effects of misspent youth
Hey! Can I get a cup of coffee? ☕
LMFAO
My issue with a lot of these is just that the tattoos aren’t that good. I totally get why they cost that much for the size and detail (expect for the explanation point that’s BS) so the reason I think the aren’t worth the price is just because the art just not that good. If the tattoos looked better I’d say they deserve the price or higher.
Tbh if you want really great work you are gonna have to pay more than that.
The astronaut was class though
A full sleeve cost anywhere between six to $8000
Never getting a tattoo in America, those prices for the quality are ridiculous 😂😂
"!" this costs like less then 20$ from where i come from...
Hahahahahaha
Iv4o on god probably wouldn’t charge u lmao
@@jayyeu1no811 ahah true
There’s something called a store minimum, which is obviously higher in cities like LA and here in London (minimum is usually between £80 and £100)
Iv4o i also have a lot of tattoos but i would never buy 100$ for a „!“ i would pay just 20 too or max 30€
Asian guy be finessing out here
$100 for ! ...looks like I’m never getting a tattoo
Ken Guidry that's just the shop minimum, other shops would do that for $30
Is it just me or Tattoo prices in US are extremely high, here in EU - a small tattoo is around 40€ and a half sleeve is 250-300 €
Dankest Media where in EU?
80$ for "!" Is too much
Shops have a minimum when the needle touches your skin $80 is usually it
40 around here
Maybe 80 in LA
$80 minimum in most Australian shops, that's obviously AUD as well, so at the moment about 55USD
Clint Beastwood I live in the Midwest every shop is min $80
We want more of this!!
The giy with glasses probably charges a lot based on how he guessed a lot over what the cost.
Half of these tattoos would be free or "for practice" in my country
They all look really bad yeah 😂
I mean, some of them aren't bad. Further into the video anyway.
Guy with glasses was hilarious, but I don’t want him to charge me lmao
so were gonna ignore the scuba diver in space tattoo that was suppose to be an astronaut
I think its supposed to be a scuba diver
Asian dude definitely quoting yen 😂😂😂
Super fun to watch this!
Ah yes, the guy who claims to be in his 40’s but is low key 20
more of these please!!
You know the Asian be charging those highass prices if those are his guesses lmao
Lmao I guessed the prices with the tattoo artists and did better 😂
they took pictures of buzzfeed editors tattoos and asked them how much they cost, super original
$100 for a tiny exclamation point. I know good artists that would do that for like £20-£40 in the UK and it would look exactly like the picture
I'd do it for $35 cost 30 just to set up these prices are ridiculous
Most shops in big cities have $100 minimums. As Taka said it depends on where you go. They probably went to a well known shop in the area
